Looks great! It would be awesome to fit in some of the small ball joints to make the legs movable and the boar somewhat posable, but I like your build here regardless. Really great job on the shaping of the head in particular.

lepin vs lego
deraven replied to sirslayer's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
... and that is exactly what has been said to you numerous times in this thread already. They aren't a clone manufacturer, they are bootleggers, stealing from Lego. That is why nothing about them is welcome on this board. If you want to discuss or review those licensed MOCs/original designs, go to the general Community section and post there. "LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, & Model Team" is not the place for it. -
Very nice! A ton of great details throughout, but one "big" thing that stands out to me is the excellent job you've done at avoiding big grey wall syndrome. The extra color and texture on the castle walls works really well and add a lot of visual interest.

Really great design - you've captured the look very well, and kept it at a reasonable size/scale. Nicely done!

Welcome to EB! Sounds like you've got some great projects coming up; looking forward to seeing your progress. Happy building!

Very nicely done at that size, and it looks like you didn't really compromise the design to get it done at a believable scale. Better than the recent ones from TLG, IMO. Nice build!

I love the creative thinking, but there's no way (currently) a 3D printer can get anywhere near the quality required to print Lego pieces at the consumer level for a service like that... at least not in a cost-effective way. I do think a subscription service direct from Lego with a nice discount and some exclusive offers would be cool. For instance, you sign up for $100/mo for a year, and you get to pick up to $130/mo in sets to be delivered to you, plus some kind of exclusive maybe a couple of times a year (like the mid-size free-with-purchase sets they do). It'd also be cool if they offered re-releases in a Lego Ideas/Kickstarter style manner: They put up a couple of sets per quarter that they'll re-release if XXXXX number of people commit to purchase them. Even if the number of purchases required was quite high, it would be a nice way to fulfill some fan demand and guarantee them whatever margin they need to make it happen.

Nice. Great job on the hair & beard in particular!

I absolutely think TLG should do an ICO with the unit being the "stud" and we can earn it by getting votes on Ideas and donating compute cycles whenever we have LDD or other virtual building tools running. And of course they'd convert VIP points to crypto Studs, too. Seriously, though... that might be too far outside their scope of business.

[MOC] [CUSTOM] X-Wing Star-fighter Variant
deraven replied to jachasedesigns's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very nice. Sleek and simplified while keeping the design language and major features intact. I really like the New Republic color scheme, too! -
Looks great - you've certainly captured the look and feel. Looking forward to seeing it in real bricks, too.

42069 - C MODEL
deraven replied to Dyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wow! Even as a regular MOC that is really great, and then based on 42069 as a "C" model is just nuts. Fantastic build!- 53 replies

Very striking, both as a bud and in bloom. Great build!

Lovely overall, and definitely NPU on those roller skates! I can't decide if I like the organ or Bach more... but I'd definitely buy this set if it was at retail!

MOC - Atari 2600 - Raspberry PI Zero Case
deraven replied to Paperinik77pk's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Very nice! Certainly a creative use for that Atari MOC. So many good things start out with Lego; you know, the first Google server case was made out of Lego. Now you need to have interchangeable cases for whatever you're emulating (NES, Coleco, etc.)...- 1 reply

Welcome to EB, Diego! Happy building!

Great microscale castle & village. I especially like the church/cathedral, and the use of the microfig as a big statue!
-
Really great job capturing the building itself, especially with all those rounded sections. And that graveyard is just delightful! Well done!

Welcome to EB, Brick Broadcasting! Definitely a lot of inspiration here, and I look forward to seeing what else you have to share. Happy building!

Hi deses - welcome to EB! It looks like that site has been around since the beginning of December, and as you noted there aren't any reviews. Their Facebook page is similarly barren of communication from them in answer to people's questions. You know the saying: If it's too good to be true... I personally wouldn't chance it, but if you give them a try let us know how it goes!
-
I think that looks nice! Not a drastic change, but I think it helps the whole thing feel more balanced and less squat. Seeing your IRL version, I'm definitely going that direction myself once I get around to picking it up!
-
My favorite parts are the, uh, "water" and that taxi (with the Fabuland roof) which works really well and has a strong retro-future vibe.
-
Nicely done! I definitely prefer it like that myself, but I think it would look better if the rounded tower section came up a bit further past the top of the rest of the building, like 4 studs. That's what I had in mind for my mod that looked good in photo mockup, anyway... but I still haven't managed to grab a couple copies to give it a try. I must say you've done a great job on the interiors, especially the diner itself, and I think I'll borrow from you there. I'm also curious as to where you're going to put it in your town, so please share when you get there!
