  1. Nice. I am actually building something similar for the contest I planned to make it higher, hence why I haven't finished yet. Anyway, it looks different (using lift rather than ramp, as there wasn't enough space on a 32x32 base), but I was hoping to be the only one to make a parking lot
  2. It is always +1 and not rounded to the even number, if I'm right. However, I remember that in the 80s the 1x1 round plate always came in pair, as they were still attached together.
  3. In a way 2008-2011 could be considered as an small golden age, I think, but I agree with you for the current problems For me the golden age is early 80s to early 90s (or even mid 90s), i.e. the sets I knew as kid :D (I am born in 1980) I like all the town/city sets from that time, and the 12V gray trains, but the first 9V trains seemed nice too. One of my favourite sets is the 6397 from 1992: at that time the sets were still really good I think, nothing to compare with the end of 90s.
  4. Indeed I had several broken or fissured 1x1 transparent plates/tiles (used a lot for car headlights, when I was kid I made more often square headlights than round headlights )
  5. I noticed that the few recent 2x2 bricks in trans-blue and trans-red that I have are much more difficult to separate than the usual bricks. I suppose that they are in a different plastic: they feel a little different from the regular color bricks, like do the very old trans-clear 2x2 bricks that I have. However these trans-blue and trans-red bricks come from brick buckets from around 2000, so they are not _so_ old.
  6. Indeed, my bad, I didn't check all the studs
  7. As I do mostly city stuff, I could see these tires useful for a MOC of a garage / tire shop. Or a junkyard. If you do castle stuff, it would be less useful though
  8. Isn't that simply some generic brand, Lego-compatible?
  9. Nowadays don't they use modern trucks even in old stations?
  10. Thanks. I also prefer to build with real parts. I use digital building only afterwards, as it is easier than photos to keep a trace of how it was build.
  11. Nicely done :)
  12. I prefer your version, really well done (do you plan to make a digital file so I can make one for myself? ) But wouldn't it look more realistic with light grey for the headlight grilles? Or trans-black tiles or grilles (if that's available...)
  13. Nice trucks! Now I want one... I guess that I just have to vote on Cuusoo then Good idea to use a glass door turned by 90°
  14. Thanks Nice anecdote Faefrost
  15. One of the reasons that made me hesitate to buy the Fire Brigade (unlike the other modular buildings that I bought directly) was the old-style truck that comes with it. So I made a new one. I was a little inspired by Triborough's truck: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=55206 but in the end mine looks completely different, except the pipes taken from the original old truck. The width & height is just the right size to fit in the building... but the truck is a little too long by one or two studs (it fits in the building but the garage door can't be closed) More on https://antp.be/lego/moc/10197-firetruck.php
  16. In 1st vid I found funny that he didn't know the container box (61780) or the fact that parts & the fig were from the Maersk train Also, his cup from the pick-a-brick wall is really not well filled
  17. Same for me Though that it is still not impossible for me: being in Brussels, the closest one for me is the one in Oberhausen, Germany, at 240 km (well, Köln is "only" 215 km, but it is more difficult to park the car there I think). If I had such store in my city, I could go there from time to time to check when there are interesting parts in the wall. Some day I'll go there anyway. If there are other people in Brussels maybe we could go together to split the costs
  18. Sure, hence why I am surprised to notice that only when reading the article
  19. Nice, before this article I didn't even realize that Yatkuu was from Belgium :)
  20. For the texture, there are some parts which seem different For example that one from the 80s: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4873 I do not know from which set I have it, According to bricklink the only red-like known color is red, but the one I have is obviously another color and another kind of plastic. There are several listed as "rust" instead of "red" in shops. In the same way, there is also that part which has a strange feeling (same kind of color & texture than the bar mentioned above) compared to other Lego parts : http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2651 also "rust" rather than "red". And at that time these were not made in China.
  21. Same for me. I feel that I pass much more time sorting than MOCing...
  22. This reminds me an old topic, http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=35795
  23. That roof looks really good... nice to see that this part can actually be useful I found that I had too much of these as I never used them (and I only have a few), now I feel that I should have a lot more of them actually

    Modular Tower

http://mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=301766&id=/user_images/68992/1325027849m (but I took the picture in the wrong side, the effect is not as good as the one seen from the ground)

    Modular Tower

Now it seems to work again... does mocpage often go down, or is it just since I put something on it? (two days in a row it was down around the same time)
