Here's another update... we're slowly moving towards resolution of this story which has dragged on far too long. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg085.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg086.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg087.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg088.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg999.jpg The whole gypsy-cal gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=116716 Steve

That he did, which was an homage to an Issac Asimov story. Thanks. I'd wanted to make him more chrome-y but couldn't keep him the right size. Steve -
Hey all, This scene is a bit of a spoiler so if you plan to read the books you might wish to skip it... Threw together a third Dark Tower vignette tonight. This one is also from Book Five (Wolves of the Calla). Short synopsis of the scene: Eddie Dean confronts the android Andy, near the outhouse. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...Tower/andy1.jpg The whole Dark Tower vignette gallery (when moderated, of course... :P) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=134234 Would you like to hear your horoscope, sai? Hello all, Threw together another Dark Tower vignette. This one is from Book 5: Wolves of the Calla. Not much too this one, as the horse and wheel chair take up a lot of space. Anyhow, to explain the scene a bit: Susannah Dean, armed with her Orizas, faces down a wolf-raider armed with a lightsword and sneetch... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...wer/wolves5.jpg The whole Dark Tower vignette gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=134234 Come come commalla, Steve

Anyone need a Doc Ock Hideout? $25 plus shipping. I'd prefer to keep it US only for now, so I don't have to play all the customs games. Steve

Nice. He's a bit more clean shaven than I'd imagined. And I didn't think he was so blonde. Here's mine: Roland v.1 Roland v.2 I had to change because I wanted to do some scenes without his hat, so I needed a face to match the hair. Steve

Well, as it was pointed out to me that this story has been around for 5 months now, I decided to release another installment earlier than planned. So here you go: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg081.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg082.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg083.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg084.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg999.jpg The whole gypsy-nomical http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=116716 Steve

Hey all, Threw together a little Dark Tower (Stephen King) vignette tonight. Its from Book 4 Wizard and Glass. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...Tower/tree1.jpg Here we have Susan Delgado meeting her end on Reap-Night while Aunt Cordelia and the Witch Rhea of the Coos look on. I rather liked the turquoise one. Probably my favorite of the lot. Mostly the roof and wall combination was dictated by the amount of roof pieces I had, rather than any aesthetics. Maybe once I get my collection together I can make more pleasing combinations. I think breaking up the bright colors with some tan and white walls might help a lot. Steve

There aren't any interiors. Since I can't use hinges on the baseplate, I'd have to use tiles and make each floor lift out. Didn't have enough tiles handy and didn't want to look for them, so I took the lazy way out. Steve

Hey all, Had a little free time this afternoon, and couldn't bring myself to study anymore than 8 hours today(my life sucks by the way :'( ). So I started doing a little building. I've been wanting to use that plate from the new Coast Guard base, to justify spending the money getting it. And been wanting to use all those odd colored 2x1 bricks, I've been picking up at PaB. Here's what I came up with: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ca...ingvillage1.jpg The gallery (with some other MOCs as well): http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=99448 Steve

Hey all, Ever since they released the KK2 figures, I've been wanting to do a "Gawain and the Green Knight" MOC. I'm quite surprised no one beat me to it... For those unfamiliar with the story, here is a brief synopsis of the opening scene: The Green Knight appears at Camelot and offers a challege to the knights. He will let the challenger use his mighty axe and strike one blow at his neck. The only caveat is that in return he gets to return the blow. Gawain accepts the challenge, after all the other knights refuse. He strikes off the Knight's head. The Knight then picks up his head and placed it back on to his body... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...tes/gawain3.jpg The whole gallery (plus some other various vignettes): http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=121980 Hope you like it, Steve

LEGO store display minifigures?

I'd love one of those things. I'm trying to hatch a plot to swipe the ones from the local Toys R Us. Steve -
Again Phes, I'm forced to reply with :P Steve

Here's another update for you all. There are only 6 more updates until the thrilling conclusion. That's 24 more scenes, for anyone who is keeping count, making it longer than my previous two combined. Hope it was worth it: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg073.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg074.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg075.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg076.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Ad...ies/kotg999.jpg The whole ghetto (er, I mean gypsy) fabulous story: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=116716 Steve

Excellent. Now we're on the same page. Well I did try to make it simple. I answered your question using both of the reasonable interpretations of the term epidose. I refer you to my earlier post, which is quoted below. Well it was kind of fun. Steve
-
Whatever does it for you I guess... That is pretty accurate. I am not, however, trying to tell a long story. There is no grand climatic conclusion to the whole story arch. There will, however, be things that will affect the story later on. Basically it is just a series of short stories... Think of it like the Star Trek series. Each week there is an essentially self-contained episode. Sometimes things that happen will have results in later episodes and somethings will end with that week. Here each Adventure would be roughly equivalent to an episode of Star Trek. So to answer the question of the number of episodes (or Adventures, to use my preferred term): I don't really know how many there will be. There isn't a set number in my head. I plan to just write until I run out of ideas or lose interest. The latter will probably be more likely than the former. I do have 6 ideas for episodes floating around in my head somewhere. Steve, who hopes that puts an end to all this... :D

Oooh, oooh! Can I be in it too? Maybe as a dashingly handsome clever ladies man and smuggler? Though I tend to post at fbtb too... maybe I could be a dashingly handsome clever ladies man and double-agent? Steve

That wasn't blabbering. It was a thoughtful analysis of the issues raised by your two posts I was responding to. Again this doesn't tell us much. We could classify each of the stories (CoT, BG, KotG) as episodes because they are part of my larger sequence of AoJT stories. At the same time, however, we could classify each picture and its accompanying narration as an episode of the adventure (which are essentially self-contained stories). This is because they are part of the larger sequence of the initial adventure. Similarly, we could further classify each group of 4 (4 simply because I generally post 4 pictures at a time) as an episode. To clear this all up, I suggest the following classifications (starting from largest unit to the smallest): Series: the entire collection of adventures Adventures: the entire story (CoT, BG, KotG, and any others that are forth coming) Installment: the scenes I post at any given time Scene: each picture with its accompanying narration Picture: a collection of pixels arranged to make an image Narration: a collection of words arranged to tell a story Words: a collection of letters arranged in such a way to represent a concept, action, object, et al And so for ad nauseum... Now, given that, would you like to repeat your initial question that sparked all this taxonomic insanity? Steve, who hopes he hasn't lost all his readers by engaging in this silliness with Phes...

Thought we needed another update tonight. You are the one asking the question, so you should define what an episode it; at least for purposes of the question. I could conceivably define episode as continents and then give you an answer of: "Seven: N. America, S. America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Antartica". This, while being technically correct, given my definition of episode, would be of no help giving you the information you requested. Thus, it would make much more sense for you to define episode, for purposes of this question only. :-D Steve

I've seen a few episodes, but have missed a lot. I have a previous engagement on the night that its on. I'm waiting for it to come out on DVD, so I can get lost. Depends on what you mean by episodes. If you mean the individual scenes for the current King of the Gypsy story, there are 100. If you mean stories over all (i.e. Cave of Terror, Blackheart's Gold, and King of the Gypsies) I plan to keep writing until I run out of ideas or lose interest. I've got about 6 or 7 ideas I can run with for new stories, so it will probably be the interest I run out of first. Steve
