Maybe that's what killed him? :o... Or perhaps this is a more appropriate smiley? *sick* Steve -
CLUES: The Mystery Continues
Athos replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I wonder why no one thought to bring a hack saw (to cut the bars on that gate) or a lock pick kit (to open the bedroom)... or any other number of tools we could use to solve this mystery. :D Steve -
CLUES: The Mystery Continues
Athos replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well I'm sure we can solve the mystery without the contents of the lockbox. Also, lets go check out the tower, as we haven't been there yet. Steve, who is glad we decided to come back. I don't think I could stand not knowing the story... -
The citizens of my tiny little Sierra Nevada town needed to tend to their spiritual needs. So a preacher moved in and soon a nice little church, complete with cemetary, was seen on the street: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Wi...est/church3.jpg The whole spiritual gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=141554 Steve

I know skal means cheers. It's a derivative of the word skull, because Vikings would often drink mead from skulls. :^^D Steve

Oh its over! :( And I think I know who the murderer was... probably have a pretty good guess at motive too. Just didn't know the weapon. :( Steve

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Wi...est/street1.jpg Not much to it yet. I modified the blue building a bit since the last time I posted it. Neither of them open. I didn't have the tiles or the plates to make floors and roofs that could lift off. Maybe some of the other ones will be able to. Here's the gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=141554 Steve

Must be pretty big. I think Pete might be lost, because its been quite a while we've been standing here on the roof waiting to go into the attic. Well I just hope it doesn't start to rain... Steve
-
Well then lets go with the Attic. Steve
-
Attic, then if as I suspect it will be locked. The tower, which I also suspect will be locked... Steve

Much better. Now those of us who like Western, Adventurers, Rock Raiders (heaven forbid!), Castle, Aquazone, Ninjas, Classic-Space, Fabuland, Town, Belville, Sports, Time-Travelers, Scala, Clickits, Robots, Technic, et al. can participate :D Steve, who is personally torn between Adventurers and Castle... P.S. Looks like Harry Potter is getting the short end of this poll...

How about changing Pirates to "Other"? Steve
-
That's Colonel Sebastian Moran. We find out about him in "The Empty House." :o Steve
-
Ah... okay. I see now... Steve

What do these structures look like? Are they like eaves above windows, or what? Steve
-
Lets keep going, and then we can work our way back to the tower Steve

"It was a singular sight which met our eyes. On the table stood a dark-lantern with the shutter half open, throwing a brilliant beam of light upon the iron safe, the door of which was ajar. Beside this table, on the wooden chair, sat Dr. Grimesby Roylott clad in a long gray dressing-gown, his bare ankles protruding beneath, and his feet thrust into red heelless Turkish slippers. Across his lap lay the short stock with the long lash which we had noticed during the day. His chin was cocked upward and his eyes were fixed in a dreadful, rigid stare at the corner of the ceiling. Round his brow he had a peculiar yellow band, with brownish speckles, which seemed to be bound tightly round his head. As we entered he made neither sound nor motion. 'The band! The speckled band!' whispered Holmes." http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...eckledband1.jpg Sherlock Holmes solves the mystery of the Speckled Band... The color of the snake is a bit off, but what can you do? The whole "deductive" gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=143660 Steve

I say lets go away from the tower. I imagine there will be a lot more interesting things in the tower, we'll be spending a lot of time on, so we'll want to end there... Steve
-
And you think that means you can just slack off for the rest of the mystery? ;) Steve

Well, I've finally joined in with the mob and made a Lord of the Rings MOC. Is this vignette, from the beginning of "Return of the King," Smeagol has just taken the ring from his friend Deagol: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...in/smeagol3.jpg The whole "precious" gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=144312 Steve

"I find that before the terrible event occurred several people had seen a creature upon the moor which corresponds with this Baskerville demon, and which could not possibly be any animal known to science. They all agreed that it was a huge creature, luminous, ghastly, and spectral. I have cross-examined these men, one of them a hard-headed countryman, one a farrier, and one a moorland farmer, who all tell the same story of this dreadful apparition, exactly corresponding to the hell-hound of the legend. I assure you that there is a reign of terror in the district, and that it is a hardy man who will cross the moor at night" http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...lmes/hound1.jpg This particular vignette is a conglomoration of three scenes from "The Hound of the Baskervilles." First, Dr. Watson confronts a stranger wanderer on the moors: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...lmes/hound4.jpg Second, a mysterious character prowls the moors at night: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...lmes/hound5.jpg Third, Sir Henry flees for his life being chased across the moors by a hell-hound: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Vi...lmes/hound6.jpg Hope you like it, Steve

Nice work. Its good someone else is working to solve this mystery, besides just me and Mr.LB. Lets get up that ladder! The game is a foot! Steve

What would 0 1 1 0 be in binary? Maybe if it is two letters/numbers, it could give us our missing letters? Steve
-
Interesting. Well that tells us where RC came from... darn I thought it would be the soda... Still don't know what it means. Is it suicide? Darkie: where did the 124 come from? Oops, forgot about the cellar door... Steve

Nice. I like it. A very good first vignette. Can't think of anyway to improve it significantly. Steve
