First off, its been a long while since I was on here but glad to be back again. I was disappointed at seeing what is offered after hearing of the re release, especially when the bluecoats are coming back. You'd think they would try and live up to their former standard. The minifigs might be the best part. If nothing else I definitely want to rebuild the old sets I have!

Thanks for the compliment. I don't have a whole lot to add, if you look up either the Black Seas Barracuda or Skulls Eye Schooner on ebay or bricklink, youd have a great start, but be prepared to share your plunder matey. On the other hand, there are ways to use normal parts, I think the ship from the Imperial Trading Post (anyone have pictures?) is a good example of that. However, since I think you want larger size, that may not work as well. Hope some of that helps! God bless, Sean

First off, thanks to all of you for the comments so far. :-) Now, to the questions. Sir Dillon, it is indeed an optical illusion. The center mast is (and should be) the tallest of the three, however by only a single brick height, for which I can understand some confusion when looking at the ship front on. Mr. Berry, I agree the cabin does somewhat stick out. It was something I kinda/sorta noticed as I was building, but I wanted to finish the ship and see if anyone else thought that as well. What kind of ideas do you have to detailing the sides? Mr. Tiber, the Corinthian did indeed donate the hull and a decent amount of the parts to the Marathon. Again, I do see how the cabin is blocky, I was hoping the slanted back would help some with that. Any reccomendations on how to fix that? Oh, and you can probably expect another ship sometime in the future, although I'm not sure if it will be as big as the last two. Mr. Bond, I agree black are more realistic, so I will use the excuse that a crewmember got bored one day and wanted the lanterns to be prettier. :-D I think being taller would make it stick out more, so I guess its back to the whole blocky thing. God bless, Sean

Actually, it means In My Humble Opinion X-D I think this is a cool ship, although it might be better suited with a little less black, as it all seems to blend in. Some red trim on top would help that out, IMHO. Still looks good, very nice for its size.

It definitely looks good, and I'm interested in seeing the folder once it goes public.

I think they both have their advantages, and I liked them both the same. I would probably reccomend the CC though, as you get more cannons, plus you get that cool little golden parrot/eagle thing hehe.

This is pretty funny. I can imagine the bridge having a hole, as hes looking backward it would make for a rather interesting scenario. Nice for just being thrown together.

a little late to add, but I think this is a really cool ship. I like the guy with the drum to keep the rowers moving. Great job.

18a Well it took me a little while, but this is what the new ideas came out as in bricks. Let me know what you think! MOCPages: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/21203 Brickshelf: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=196759 God bless, Sean

Well, it turned out to be more of an overall change, as so far I have added two midsections, and am trying to mix up the color scheme some. So far the pictures are mostly just the taking apart, but I have the shots of the hull extended now. The bow also is white as compared to the gold. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=196760 I'll be adding more as I go along, granted I don't forget to take pictures as I build haha. God bless, Sean

thats a really cool video, there was like one part where the scene doubled, but that is not a really big deal. My only general question is why would lego have put Woodside on the Armada ship?
-
Seeing as he is not selling them, I don't think there is anything illegal about it. These were done really well, are you planning on adding more to this collection?

Interest in a Universal Pirates Story Setting?
Sean replied to Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn's topic in LEGO Pirates
Thanks for clearing that up Admiral. You did answer my third question by the way. I wouldn't mind taking part, and if you need someone to play as a pirate, I really wouldn't mind that. X-D -

I'm going to take a risk of not trying to quote everything, so if anyone wonders what exactly I might be talking about, just go ahead and ask :-) I have a couple questions that I couldn't quite answer by reading thus far. First, I take it this is more designed for System ships, or at least a criteria based on those System ships, rather than large MOC ships? Second, How much naval knowledge and prowess would it require to be able to sail around all piratey like in this game? Third, Would it not be possible to trust each other in more of a 'free-form' sense to a point, and each player would kind of give and take to make a cool storyline? I think it was mentioned that solid rules are required for this to succeed on a large level, so I assume that this is indeed not possible. Also, how strictly would we be basing this on a historical sense? I personally feel it may take a little fun out of it if it gets too aligned, seeing as we are playing with legos here. ;-) God Bless, Sean -
I definitely remember Royal Knights, the others were fuzzy. Then again, I was at most 7. Did anyone else flinch a tad bit when the guy blew up his SES haha?
-
I just think I should point out I think the Pirate theme is the best one too.
-
I was just hoping to add a little more to them other than a floor and cannons on it. I'll see how well that seems to go. I will definitely try to do the step by step modifying also, thats a pretty good idea.
-
I like the look of it in total, a simple look that is very effective. Do you happen to have any blue pennants to replace that red one on the foremast? I only ask because it's the 'blue guys' ship. I like how the stern flag is tilted by the way, that is another nice touch. By the way, I also like that above picture. I try to take close up shots like that, but I can't seem to focus correctly on a consistent basis.
-
With those modifications, that is definitely an awesome ship. About how long did it take you to come up with how to make the hull?
-
Those are very nice, especially for 10 minutes of work. I like the 'under distress' mermaid, very original. What set is that face from, I could never figure out? And I suppose I'll let it slide that you used jar jar.... ;-) God bless, Sean

Nice to see you here mr TJC. Always good to have another pirate sailing around.
-
yea, I think the shooting kind were banned in the US at one point.
-
I think this fort is a very solid MOC at the moment, but adding yellow and details such as the wine bottle would be a great touch. Perhaps a ladder to get to the launch as well?
-
I would say you are right Capn Roger, I could be wrong but I don't remember seeing this skull via anything else, at least not originally.
