  1. I plan on doing both actually. That might give me a chance to put some more detail into the two decks that I have, as well as allow me to add a third mast and add some 'speed' to the ship. Would you suggest anything else?
  2. It is looking very good, you don't see many ghost ships but this is definitely a good one.
  3. Ah, well that makes more sense now. Thanks for pointing that out 007. And I now also see how vastly improved the mermaid is from the one in the set.
  4. the cannon itself is from pirates, but if your talking about the wheels, that is inspired off the Wild West theme I believe.
  5. Hehe. My final pictures are on brickshelf in a subfolder, when it gets modified. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=192935 I guess now I just have to bring myself to taking it apart for a day or so to make changes haha. God Bless, Sean
  6. I think he just used those 1 x 1 bricks with the stud on the side, I can't find a picture but I think you know what I mean.
  7. Mr. Phes, I believe 'we' would be NCLUG (North Carolina Lego Users), with which he is a member. Captain Roger, you are right with the time cruisers. Here is the picture. http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?q=6493_1&v=z I think this is a pretty cool setup as well, nice to see a BSB in action, it was a good choice for the display. I wonder what that pirate on the dock is thinking...
  8. yeah, that mermaid is pretty cool. Is that out of a particular set?
  9. I only really noticed this now, but the boat for the river runner is a really nice design. I like the use of those brown things from...well the only set I know it belongs to is that SW droid fighter. The dock is a really nice touch too, that would be a really cool system set.
  10. well of course I would look for the Skulls Eye Schooner or the Black Seas Barracuda if your treasure chest happens to be large enough hehe. Then there is also the Imperial Trading Post and El Dorado Fortress. Those are the big ships/forts. Theres plenty more smaller, just give the word and someone will go into those too. :-)
  11. Here you all go: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/hotshot3.../withsails1.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/hotshot3.../withsails2.jpg Comments? :-) God bless, Sean
  12. Sounds like a good plan, I may be able to have the pictures with sails up by tonight, and then use saturday to make those other changes.
  13. I agree they should pick.... and they should pick yellow ;-) If you mean the forum by gettin into the pirate life, then I think you can just head to Governor Broadside's Admin Building, which is at the top on the main part of the pirates forum. If you meant actual bricks and minifigs, then I'd be ready to pull out the treasure chest and head to bricklink or ebay. hope that helps! God Bless, Sean
  14. Yes, I do plan on doing that. I have been debating on if I want to add sails first however (just the simple glue two pieces of paper together), before I move on to other ships. Would you consider that something I should do or does it look ok with just the masts and rigging? Once that is done and I get about 4 pictures, I'll do those modifications.
  15. to make a long story short: yes X-D
  16. well the old star wars figs were yellow, more recently theyve become skin toned. I do like the thought about the parts though. I'm not sure what kinds they would come up with...unless different swords or other weapons.
  17. Those are pretty cool. I like the action shots, they add character, if thats an acceptable adjective haha. It'll be interesting to see how much of that action you put into a larger project.
  18. that would definitely be interesting. Have a Moby-like whale to take on. Probably stating the obvious, but I wonder if vikings is lego's way to just try and satisfy both the castle and pirate fans ? Not that they are bad sets mind you. They may end up being the first ones I purchase from a store in 2-3 years.
  19. Theyd also be pretty useful to do tumblehome without taking up too much deck space, and they also seem to come in good numbers.

Wouldn't you consider the SES to be more agile however, because it is slightly shorter it could make quicker turns as well? Of course, it depends on the captains more so I believe. The SES may just use it's agility and speed to get behind the SR and take out the rudder and go from there. On the other hand, the SR could just turn the SES into firewood presented with the opportunity. I guess it goes with who has the initiative. Does anyone else really want to see this battle now lol?
  21. True. I guess I wouldnt want to wake up a sleeping giant that would make my ship look like a lifeboat haha. Although, it would be interesting to see how much detail they would put in a ship with no piece limit? Do you think theyd really go all out and blow everything away for something they were releasing in stock? What exactly is that piece limit by the way, do you know?
  22. I was just saying that had had so much focus on bionicle in recent time as compared to other themes that had seemed better. This is nothing against those out there who are fans of bionicle, just more a personal preference and me poking fun at lego.

Would it, in a sense, be our own MOC page stored on the forum then?

Yes, I didnt have a name at the time that I made a thread, I probably should have reposted. Thank you for the reviews though, it is definitely appreciated. I'm thinking I will try to add the sails and get a few pictures before moving on to the next ship in the fleet.
  25. It always seemed that lego was on the edge of a very good fort but they never quite got there, doesnt it?
