  1. yea pretty much. it might cut into bionicle.
  2. The only reason I would not be for a POTC based theme would be because I wouldn't want more skin tone legomen. I wouldn't mind getting a look at their version of the black pearl however, and it might give them a reason to release an Imperial ship larger than the Carribean Clipper. On the other question, a pirate theme that woudl be good to me is any that just has good sets. El Dorado like bases or Skulls Eye Schooner like ships would be welcome for me anytime. Pretty much as the Lord Admiral said, anything that resembles the pirates from the 90s.
  3. Just in case we need to be official like, here is a link to my ship as well, The Corinthian.

Do you have any of the Samauri or Ninja sets? They would make for a cool crew as well. I think they were around the same time period.
  5. Actually Mr. Phes (you may call me Sean by the way if you would like), I do plan on leaving it as is for a few days. That however, is more so that the family room can stay clean long enough that my parents would be okay when I mess it up again hehe. However, I definitely enjoy all of the feedback and am taking it into account. I do want to see how well this looks with the one deck removed, and since that would make it easier to also add a midsection, i may try that as well and have a longer, lighter sister ship of sorts. Did anyone have anything else they'd think would be a cool change? I also have thought about doing a smaller ship first, or starting a port, but the latter would take a slight bit longer. By the way, I assume this has been entered in our pirate theme challenge?

    My MOC Ship

This turned out really well for the pieces you had, and overall it looks good. I like the creativity you were able to use while improvising for parts. Did it take you very long?
  7. the ship definitely looks good with sails, altho it didnt look too shabby without them. I thought using the bricks for rolled up sails was pretty creative. Thats a nice job with the hull too, seeing as you didnt use the parts most people do. For the sails, did you just glue around the border of the paper?
  8. I was pretty happy considering I hadn't done anything on this scale in a loong time, being in high school time can be hard to come by for 10 months out of the year. I did manage to come upon some thread however, so it does now have rigging to a point, and I also liked the idea of having just one flag in the back. The removing the deck isn't a bad idea either, I was debating if I would go through with it or not when I built it. However, for this ship anyways, it will be a nice stocky build. If you don't like it, tell the 11 cannon broadside :) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=191998 When its moderated, that is the finished ship. I may be adding a few more pictures later, but thats mostly what you'll get it. If you have any more advice, please let me know, like I said, last time I built an MOC was about 2 years ago, and I haven't done the pirate before (although I always have been a fan of the theme) Thanks again! God Bless, Sean
  9. 19c I havent named it yet, but I do have my first picture of the ship I was promising. I'll have better pictures later, this one will just be able to give you all an idea of it. View the Brickshelf Gallery There has been a Phes Edit in this thread to ensure this MOC gets as many responses as it possibly can.
  10. On a Lego standpoint, the only thing El Dorado lacks is a better port. having the ship sit in front of it would block the cannon's shots at certain times. The harbor in ITP would be great attached to the side of it, hence why it looks so cool combined.
  11. While I think El Dorado Fortress is a good fortress, it is definitely that of an island fort. Sabre Island and Cannon Cove were more 'We just want to show we're around' outposts, just to show that the Imperials are in that area. El Dorado is obviously a lot stronger than these, but it is still too small to be the kind of fort that no pirate ship would want to visit.
  12. that is really cool. everybody loves big ports but most people cant make them without them coming out more like a big box on rocks, he definitely avoided that. and of course, resembling the ITP slightly isnt a bad thing.
  13. I think this is really cool, it's grown on me a lot the more I look at the detail. I don't suppose the skeleton on the figurehead is part of the crew haha? I like the way the stern looks as well, leaned back. What sets do you get the green skeleton out of?
  14. its definitely a cool set, thats for sure.
  15. I also have a ship started, I'll get pictures in as soon as I actually have a front for it haha. It has 2 mid sections. By the way, what are the classes for ships? I only know of Frigate and Man O' War. Thanks. Sean
  16. I thought I had a lot of bluecoats. That is a real nice army there, especially on the intimidation factor haha. How long did it take to come up with those silver helmets for the cavalry? Sean
