INFO: LEGO Universe sub-forum moved
Bonaparte replied to Superkalle's topic in Forum Information and Help
For now I've given C&MM back the default skin until we can maybe tweak the universe skin to get rid of the universe logo and instead have the EB log. -
Thanks guys, I'll do my best to represent you (the Pirate fans) well! Last cycle, with the help of the entire Classic-Pirates.com crew and thanks to your input, we were able to deliver LEGO a nice presentation on your part requests and also we made a document listing your desires and hopes for future Pirate sets. We hope to see at least some of these idea's in the upcoming pirates of the Caribbean line.

BrickMania, 27 and 28 November
Bonaparte replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Hey Sne, it would be great to meet you once again (it's been some time now). -
This weekend, our Belgian LUG (BeLUG) organizes the Brickmania event in Wilrijk (near Antwerp). There will be lots of MOCs on display, a big train layout, kids corner, shops for sets and loose parts and more. Last year the event was a huge success and this year it's expected to grow even more. More details are on the website of BeLUG or discuss here in our forums. I will be visiting Brickmania on Sunday afternoon (arriving at around 2PM).

First of all, Sir Dillon was not 'demoted'. He resigned his position for personal reasons (university) and by consequence became a fellow. Same goes for Hobbes (personal reason) so when Sieggy removes the Honorary Citizens rank he will also move to fellow. Vader and Yoda are different cases because they are inactive members which means they will get a normal rank. This is logical because long time inactive fellows are also returned back to a normal rank. Nope, Big Cam was promoted to "shipyard master" because his outstanding work on the Classic-Pirates.com blog. But his new rank does not make him a mod, it makes him the guy in charge of the Classic-Pirates.com blog.

I don't like pinning more than on thread. It often has the opposite effect. -
Have any of you Star Trek fans already noticed the new elf headgear with the pointy ears is just perfect for making Vulcans? I do know that Vulcans have black hair unless the older ones (those are grey which is close to tan), so this hearpiece mold would fit well for an older Vulcan. REVIEW: 7327 Scorpion Pyramid
Bonaparte replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I love this review Hinckley! I really enjoyed reading it and you convince me to buy a copy of this fantastic set. Now wouldn't these nice figs (anubis, the flying mummy, etc.) be great material for an Action theme banner and skin? -

Great MOC Ye Olde Pirate! We see a lot of ships on Classic-Pirate (which we love ) be it's also nice to see where they are build once in a while.
-
Nice work! It's good to see once in a while a trading vessel appear to compensate for the larger amount of 'warships' that are constructed with LEGO. I like the shape and colors of this ship. I'm not so convinced of the steering wheel; I might have gone for a different one or many using a steering 'stick' (or whatever the right term). And I like your harbor (and presentation skills) a lot!

The President looks simply amazing. I has a perfect line and I just love the simple white/black color scheme. The angled side window of the cabin looks also great, so do the black and white masts. If I'm correct this will be the first US frigate made with LEGO on standard hull pieces that is worthy of the name "brickshipmodel". This belongs in the gallery of the very best brickshipmodels ever constructed (and that's not a very long list!). I'm looking forward seeing many more pictures and close-ups once you have finished this beauty. For sure this deserves a new thread (and frontpage post) when that time has come!

I'm very impressed by this VOC staten yacht! And I'm happy seeing a Dutchman making a VOC ship. If I were from the Netherlands I wouldn't make any other ships but VOC ships. Well, maybe I'd make an English ship but just for target practicing I'm hoping that one day one of our dutch expert LEGO ship builders (Captain Green Hair, Admiral Croissant, Captain Blackmoor, Teddy, ...) will make a 'minifig illusion scale' VOC ship like the Batavia (seems like a good medium sized ship to start with) and maybe even one day the might Seven Provincien

Truly amazing! It's hardly believable this kind of realism can be achieved with LEGO minifigs.

The best LEGO sailing ships (minifig illusion scale)
Bonaparte replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
Thanks Admiral Croissant for posting such a great list! It makes my list a lot shorter as I don't have to re-nominated the ones you nominated. I'll by start adding more ships myself in this post. Before Captain Green Hair became the God of the LEGO sailing ship there was another one going by the name of Richie Dulin (Legeaux). I'll start my list with a few of his ships. Ship name: Guerre de Roue Builder name: Legeaux (Richie Dulin) Ship description (optional): Armed Sidewheeler Link: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9406 Ship name: Egregious Builder name: Legeaux (Richie Dulin) Ship description (optional): The Whaling Brig Link: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7161 Ship name: Cutter Tresfroid Builder name: Legeaux (Richie Dulin) Ship description (optional): The Whaling Brig Link: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5989 More will be added later... -

The best LEGO ships ever (minifig illusion scale) The goal is to make a top of the best LEGO sailing ships ever build. We will only focus on "minifig illusion scale" sailing ships (just so we are comparing apples to apples). "Minifig illusion scale" means a ship that's build on existing LEGO hull pieces (or with a brick build hull of similar scale). For example, this is a minifig illusion scale ship, while this is not. Next to the scale requirement the ship should have at least one sail on it. We'll do this in 2 steps: Step 1 (nominating): In this thread everyone can make one post (one only!) and include a list of your favorite ships. You can always go back to your post and add additional ships to it. Don't be shy to include your own ships in your nomination list. I would actually encourage you to include your own ships if you think they are a good candidate for getting into this top 20. If a ship is already nominated by someone there's no need to nominate it again (once nominated the ship will be in the voting thread anyway). For inspiration you can have a look at our ship index. Step 2 (voting): At a later stage we will close this nomination thread and create a big voting thread to build our top 20 of the best "minifig illusion scale" sailing ships. This nomination thread will remain open till 31st of December so everyone should have more than enough time to complete their list of ships he/she would like to nominate. Random examples of how to nominate ships: Ship name: HMS Achilles Builder name: Swab Ship description (optional): British 38 gun frigate Link: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=19151&st=0#entry322023 Ship name: The RTS Zavala Builder name: RTN LNA Ship description (optional): Texas Navy side-paddle-wheel sailing steamship Link: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23844 Please use this format. Happy nominating
