  1. Nice, very nice! If only he wouldn't charge US $46.50 for shipment to Belgium. Oh well, now that it's headlined on CP the price will probably not be interesting anymore. And I've promised myself to spend more on MOCs and less on army building...
  2. Thanks DARKspawn for posting your opinion! I can totally agree with everything you are writing in your post and I'm happy you posted. As you might know, I'm a big Lego Pirates fan and it would love to be active on your new website. I see the Lego online community as one community. So many members of EBs are members on other Lego websites (and visa versa). I'm truly saddened by the decision of your staff to take such a negative attitude towards classic-pirates.com and EBs. The day that is changed you can expect me to become an active member on your community. Edit: Thanks Tony for addressing these issues! We are fully aligned and share the same vision!
  3. So you support them putting Eurobricks in their "swear filter" and directing kids to classic-pirates.com? I don't know Ben or any of these other guys. I've never met any of them. However, doing what they did makes them and the AFOL community they represent look bad. It's a negative signal and we have enough negativism already these days.
  4. As long as they keep up this aggressive and rude attitude towards Classic-pirates.com (and Eurobricks) I won't be posting anything on that new site. And I had already registered... . What a bad way to start a site. I'm disappointed!
  5. Cool pics! Some were taken after a lot of beers The next day my voice was almost gone... . We have to do this again! It was great meeting all of you guys. I know this will only be the first of a long row of similar "events"
  6. This set is already being discussed here. I'll close this one.
  7. Welcome Foxy at Eurobricks! I hope you enjoy your time with us
  8. Happy B-day!!!
  9. By now everyone has read this announcement and had the opportunity to ask questions. More details are in our forum guidelines (above every forum). The time has come to close this thread.
  10. Wonderful report Errorist! I envy you since I've never been on a big wooden ship like the one you visited. I hope to visit one at some point in the future. My favorite would be the ship of Nelson (HMS Victory) or the HMS Rose. However, this one would do just fine as well! Visiting a ship like this must be a wonderful source of inspiration. While this fits in community, I'll move this to the Pirates forum. I'm convinced some people over there would love to see this report ;-)
  11. The is a good reason for Eurobricks having a rule that pictures can't be bigger than 800x600 pixels. These are 2816x2112 pixels. Please use one of these tutorial to resize them: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=19193 I'll PM you so you don't miss this message!
  12. If this is minifig size I'll probably buy it. If it is minifig size and has an interior I'll buy it for sure.
  13. Are you ready for some pirate smiley wars? Find all the info here.
  14. I once bought a entire Lego collection including this set. However, I never have build it. Seeing this fine review has given me new motivation to do so. Nice work again Skipper!
  15. Checkout some of the latest reviews made by our Fellows Christian, TheBrickster and WhiteFang: 7679 Republic Fighter Tank by Christian Awesome Quad Face-Off, 7042 Dune Patrol vs. 7473 Dino Attack Sprinter by TheBrickster 6402 Sidewalk Cafe by WhiteFang
  16. Since you were gone for 2 weeks l want to bring your attention to this announcement: ALL MEMBERS: Please read! if you missed it! The reason I do so is because you very often (not always) are posting without using capital letters and no punctuation.
  17. I'm only seeing 1 picture Commander. Is that normal? Maybe you want to double check.
  18. I would like to remind everyone about the guidelines for posting pictures on Eurobricks (see member guidelines): However, we won't be too strict and allow only for this contest a maximum picture size of 1024x1200. Everything bigger is really unacceptable. Those members will have to start resizing or they won't be allowed in the vote. Several tutorials on how to re-size pictures are available here. I will personally PM the members who's images are unacceptably big so they don't miss this message. I propose that Clonecommando007 waits a few day before starting the voting thread to give those members time to do the necessary resizing. Here's a list: yorkiejim (3072 x 2048) Skipper 24 (3264 x 2448) Dark Sword Ragnarok (1928 x 2572) Commander Faie (3264 x 2448) Resizing ON!
  19. Eurobricks started as the European Lego fans community, but has evolved into a global community about those wonderful bricks from Europe (Lego is still a European company). Also you should read what's in our banner on the main forum I thank you for all your advise and good suggestions. I've been on this board for quite some time now and have seen the SW forum evolve more and more in the direction of a chat room over time (probably because SW is popular theme for "kids"). So yes, myself and the staff feel that we need to "rock the boat" in our Star Wars forum and bring it back to a higher level of quality. Actually, I'm only demanding that members follow the EB's guidelines they all agreed to while registering. Nothing more, nothing less. Sure, I agree with this. But lately several members were leaning more towards chatroom talk. My message (see first post of this thread, 7 pages back already) is directed towards those members.
  20. Thanks! And yes, I'm still recruiting. Currently I'm adding a band to my French army.
  21. I don't care about ... I'm a member on a zillion online Lego boards (and some non Lego ones), so I'm learning from all those places. However, each forum has his own culture. But blind to the world outside EBs I am not I agree that this could go to far, but that won't happen here. We know exactly how far we want to go. It all comes down to this: We want all members to do the best they can to write in a mature and decent manner. Several were a bit lazy and really not taking the time to write better. Just compare posts from some members before and after I started this and you will see what I mean. I'm not a native English speaker and my English is far from perfect. This is still a board about Lego and not about the English language. Euhm, what do you suggest? They can always let the staff know they are dyslexic and we'll take that into account. I'll take that as a compliment captain
  22. Now now, trooperdavinfelth and Stauder can you guys continue this on MSN please. I would like to ask everyone to only reply in this thread if you have something meaningful to say!
  23. I thank you for voicing your opinion on this matter and from pointing out possible flaws in this system. Your opinion is most certainly noted! No need for doing that.
  24. Welcome Tony on Eurobricks! I think your face looks a lot like mine
  25. We have always allowed mature members under the age limit of 18 years. And there is no way you can check the real age of members on the Internet. I don't like the tone in your post at all Big Pete Feel free to leave if you don't like how we are running this community.
