Several medium sets would be fine. like small ships(size of the ship in ITP) or small bases/ ports. in this way kids can take the setw with them if they visit friends and there put them all togheter to a LARGE world . or i can buy all of them my selves and use them in the same way a larger ship would be nice for uss AFOL's. perhaps with a much wider hull. could them be great for making our own moc's. I lost my internet (lightning strike again) and im moving soon so havent had much chance to get in here lately. but its good to se that this page is alive :) greetings. Thunder

VERY nice *wub* *wub* really like this. much fighting and 100000000details to look at. My dear Cardinal Brick. i guess the stand around the civillians isnt the last stand. when they are safe i bet the last stand will be around the keep to protect the baron and the ladies there ;-)

hehe the legolandbag is not from my visit to legoland. ive never been there. But everyone at work buy lego to me if they go to Denmark :) i like the fort to be big. just wish i had space and money (and skills) for making the fort even bigger and better

I've come somewere with my main fortress on the Battle island. this is the Diamond fortress. its not complete and more will be added later. some of it is taken from the old fortress . here are some pics. More pics HERE

I think the biggest problem for us here on EB is that what we want (as AFOL's) isnt allways what siuts the kids(and the parents economy ) best. For me to buy a large ship of the line or a BIG fort with 20cannons and 50minifigs isnt the same as it would be for a kid. So if TLG will send out Pirate lego they must decide 1: do we want to make sets only for the kids or 2 do we also want to make big expencive sets for ALFOLS as well. But please lets have the Pirates back. the theme isnt completed yet. the imperial armada has only two sets and we need more houses and harbors in the other end of the theme. Good night :) Thunder

36-pound, 24-pound and 12-pound calibres was the standarized guns of the french fleet. RN used 42-pounders, 32-pounders, 24-pounders, 18-pounders, 12-pounders, 9-pounders, 8-pounders, 6-pounders and several other small guns. And if we now set the size of the lego cannon to lets say 18pounder we will get a problem when comparing mocs or lego sets . if a rowboat (Harbour sentry) carry a 18pounder and the broadside of BSB is two 18 pounders it will then say that three roboats outgun one of the biggest ships.. But, i too think that if we look at the lego gun it must be a BIG one. 18 or 24 pounder. would say more of a 24 pounder. This is a 12pounder and it look to small for the lego cannon. so at lease 18 pounder but my guess is 24 pounder. and the height of a bullet( round brick 1x1) in LDRAW is 24 so why not a 24 pounder ;-)

Mt Tiber , i have changed the background color to the same as here. The blue wawe color. So now you can see. Col Whipstick, did i get you right in that you was asking for us to post the vital data on our mocs here in this topic? And if i sent my Valkyrie to to and call it a frigate, would it be changed to something else of you dont agree with me (or any other member posting their ships here) I see that i have to go home this weekend and do some measurements ;-) btw. where do we measure how wide our ship is? at the hull or at the yards? my yards are longer than my hull is wide i think.

I just thought the white color was even more booring ;-) but ill se what i can get out of the colors :) Is there any other changes you would suggest Mr Tiber? And if anyone have the background of the forums and will give it to me ill try to get it to look good :)

oops sorry :-$ . i was focused on the pic of the ships and the table itself. forgot the measurements. but this table was only a prototype anyway. just tried to make something on my homepage. but of corse, if you like it i can always work on this table page. how if we add the measurements like i have done now? in studs and bricks. and as i have done a * for a measure that is just estimated and not measured.

It easy to measure a ship or any other model. use plates as i have shown here This brig would be 11 2/3 high. same in length. just use plates to measure the length and when we masrure we have to take everything with us, masts and bowsprits etc. imagine we are making a box to set the moc in. what we are measuring is the size of that box. think this table is a great idea. In this way we can see and contact the builder if we have a question or something other to ask for. and for the nationallity. if the pirate has a base (virtual or a historic one) i think he can put that on. if he hasnt, best would then be to set in the sea area (like Carribean, Indian Ocean, North Sea etc ) . just my thoughts :-$

You could use the imperial guard as a start if you want. but witch year are you in? in 1802 the british marines changed to Royal Marines. and after that mi opinion is that you can use the blue eupalettes as they are in the royal color (blue) but as far as i remember the royal marines had blue markings on the red jacket down by the hand. so cant say this would be accurate to have blue eupalettes. but its lego. if you make them royal marines , then they are just that :-D

I see your point mr Phes. and i agree in both sizes . the small ones look better compared to the TLC sets and you could use them in imperial trade station and make nmore life there. but its also great to see a huge ship of the line buildt in lego *sweet*

hehe. when i see the big ships i wnat to try to build one my selves. maybe ill try. have some boat parts left and ig its not working, well its lego. just dismantle and build something else. and if i get to overwellmed by the big ships and they ty to sink me i guess i just have to retreat into my harbour. from there i guess ill fight off whatever they are sending to me ;-)

on my ship i have the same problem. i then open my gunports and just tip the ship over and the guns slide out. under each gun i have the tile system as under the guns in BSB. that work for me. you can also use a forceps and haul them out . i dont know if i understand you correct, did you want the guns to be out fast or can you take your time (forceps is a slow metode.) the murderhole will be for shooting and dropping small grenades. nothing more( at least not at this time.) made 4 of the 6 sections now. they are far from comlpete but you can get a view of how it will look. More pictures will come as i feel for it. right now i dont bild at all. a girlfriend of mine have problems. she is sick :'-( Love you miss C

Old India sounds cool to me . how old are you thinking of? the one with native soldiers and british officers or older with only native in it? would anyway be a new army (i havent seen any Indian Army made in lego before) An army of France or UK would be expencive to buildt as the soldiers are about 5.5usd pr minifig so a indian or East India Trading company army would perhaps be cheaper to get ??

As yousee there will be a sort of murderhole ontop of the gatedoors. from there you can drop bombs direct dont and infront of the doors. this mh will be covered by a hatch or plate of some kind.

It will be somewere in Carribean. on the big island Decastio And i want them to be British :) maybe i make something from our homeland later. we have a lot of history from these pirate times from Norway :-D

He he he- You know how to say it :) some of the ideas was a bit far from what i had in mind. of the fortificatyions i've been in noone have a very great entrance. they rely more on strength than beauty :-D But several of the other here had ideas and hints that i have in mind when making other things. so it was not a complete miss to want me to build Taj Mahal hehe -

hehe the two cannons are loaded with grapeshots and when pointed down they will clear the area between them . thay can also be diverted to fire out on the harbour longside the other guns. but they will be replaced by others later. Btw. how are you going to be able to swing the doors open and charge out if there is something blocking them from outside? like parts of the wall or a wagon filled with stone or something like that. then i can asily open my doors inwards and just jump over that :-P Now i see your point Woody64. thats the main reason for me to use mlcad. i can make one model and then use it as many times as i want, or i can buildt in any color i have. or replace parts. its very fast and cheap compared to real life. Catpain green hair talked about the color. i like the dark color. in my mind it make the fort look more hard to get . and also the white thing. i cant say i've seen a picture of a white fort yet. know there was some dark ones but havent seen a fort buildt in white.

Ho woody64 :) nice gate .. i use mlcad to make this models. and how musch time? hmm long time. i could sit a whole evening and get no way . this is why i separatet the fort into 6 parts. so every part can be buildt separate. reason for using so much black is that i have ALOT of black bricks :-D Im not sure what you ment with "Does it give you a better(faster?) possibility to try it? I'm interested in experiences you made with that kind of preparation." Thunder
