good evening Mr Phes. i wanted to use the minifigs i already have, and keep them as close to orginal as i could. and when i look at the imperial guard, i se a soldier in a royal force, since they have blue epaulettes. i also like the idea that white epaulettes are for the HIGH ranks only. and by adding color on the epaulettes i could get more ranks than by mixing with uniforms/hats only. by adding none, one or two dots on the epaulettes i can get 3 ranks on each kind of uniform. that plus different hats, weapons ets made it possible for me to create all the ranks i needed. that was my motivation If there was more colors to get i would perhaps think oterwise but with my system i can see in far distance what kind of branch a minifig is in. blue uniform with red epaulette, thats artillery. blue with white epaulette, thats a general/Admiral. and then at closer range i can see if its a Captain or a Corporal. like in real life Hope that explained some for you hmm whats that? do you have a link for it? Found that Now. looking good i think but kind of strange too. perhaps if i had alot of men without epaulettes i could have thought of buying those kind,

hehe Guss. i started with two soldiers if we met on the battlefield i think ill will grant your men a safe retreat, to fight with my army against 8 men will be a dishonour for me. what kind of soldiers do you have?

I have a combination of uniform and epaulette color that divert them: Red /blue epaulettes : Royal Grenadier regiment Red /yellow epaulettes: marine soldiers Red /white epaulettes: Generals (no marine will be general) Blue /red epaulettes&shako : Royal Garrison Artillery soldier Blue /red epaulettes/Tricorne : field artillery soldier Blue /yellow : Royal navy Blue/white : Artillery General Blue /white&white gloves : Admiral Royal Navy and i have some troops i think : about 200 Royal Grenadiers , about 50 Royal Garrison Artillery, and about 40+ in my field artillery battallion . and some marines too .and more is coming . Pegleg Blockbeard : liked the way you divided them. and will do something like that on seaman and topmen, but i used the imperial soldier (with red epaulette) as artillerytroops, and i also like the white color as a mor prominent color. its like when i put on clotes. the more dirty i can get the colors will be darker. a admiral/general is seldom in a situation where he will get dirty and can them use white more

Hi folks. I’ve been thinking a bit(yes i can think too ) about making some sort of rank marks on the uniforms of my army. And also finally made my organisation map of the grenadier regiment and the artillery battallions. I use some correction paint(the white paint you use to fix some wrong writing on paper) And mark dots on the Epaulets. Soldiers : no dots regular uniform, shako,musket Corporal : one dot right shoulder. regular uniform, shako, musket Sergeant : dot on each shoulder. regular uniform, shako, musket Second Lieutnant : no dots, regular uniform tricorne hat , pistol Lieutnant : one dot right shoulder, regular uniform tricorne hat , pistol Captain : dot on both shoulders, regular uniform tricorne hat , pistol Major :No dots, officer uniform ,Bicorne black, pistol or just sabre Lieutnant Colonel : right shoulder dot, officer uniform ,Bicorne White, pistol or just sabre Colonel :dots both shoulder, officer uniform ,Bicorne White, pistol or just sabre Generals : always white epaulette , officer uniform ,Bicorne White, pistol or just sabre I also use the white paint on the blue flag , to identify the company. white tip on upper split is 1.coy, white tip on lower split is 2. coy and both split white is 3.coy. So this is Eskdale Company (first Company), Yorkshire Battallion(1.batt ,but havent figured out how to mark the flags for battallion) of the 1. Regiment of Royal Grenadiers Cool names i think What do you think of this kind of rank system? biggest reason for using only the white correction paint is that it can be removed, so i wont destroy my lego. And i think using paper flags or marks look good but a bit strange.

Hi there. sorry but cant help you with Royal Marines since they didnt have the Royal name until 1802 try google for them. i found some pics there when i searched for royal navy uniforms . like this pic

Pirates be aware!!! i've placed and order for some of the parts for this rock now. hopefully i will start building this in two weeks now. got some more plans for this. will have to see if i can make them out in lego.

sure :) a victim or two will come. but probebly not in mlcad. ive startet to see what i have and dont have to make this in real lego. missing most of the slopes so will have to buy that . my car broke wown so my lego investments will have to wait. first i have to pay the bill to fix my car, about 15000kr or 2500-3000usd not wgat i had planned for this fall...

i know the hangman is bad. but i dont have better mlcad files. so i hade him as a sort of replacement. tried out a new style for the gallow. better i think. but i need to try our on real lego to se what i end up with Have to go now. someone lost their electric power, and i have to fix it . Ha det

hehe i also think it look odd. but im not sure how i would build the gallow. But i see it this way, who wants to make a very very fine gallow, when just a tree is good enough. i also been thinking of adding a block where the funny hang man could try his axe on the pirates.

Military 12a Just made a sort of alterative to the warning from POTC . have seen some lego versions of the body's hanging and the warning sign. so i made a small rock/island where the gallow, and heads of the dead pirates will warn other against piracy. does this sucks 100% or is this something i should try to make with real lego? i used the traitors gate from the Tower of London as a inspiration. boats are coming to the brown pier where the guard and the officer waits. and then is taken up to the gallow where the hangman show them his "hobby" This is a WIP in mlcad , but i like this, and hope ill get a chanse to build this for real. If you have to much imperial guards i can find place for them in my barracks the more i look at he imperial guard the more i think of grenadiers, perhaps because i have a pc game where the grenadiers have a lot of white on them . perhaps i should use the new one as regular infantry.

very nice with the cannon it look to me like a lighthouse thet showthe way into a harboiur area or something like that, then you could want some first line of defence of the area :) the brown thing that stick out of the water infront, what is that?

hi and welcome to the forum. hope to see more of your mocs. the pirate warnig was cool. remind me of something i've seen in a movie somewere I have the Eldorado myselves and i also added some more docking area to it, perhaps will set it togheter with the Imperial trade station.

agree 100% . lets be happy for that pirates are coming back and enjoy the new colors and minifigs. compared to what we had before..... exactly ,nothing. this new tpirate theme look very good to me, just hoping they will ceep it going from now one. like town or castle etc. and that they will come with some afol sets. (intended more to us that ismore than normal intr in lego) and with more neutral buildings, like shops,docks that we can fill into our world.

when TLG makes minifigs for a set they have the decals and paintings for them, so it wont be much work for them to make minifig pack for us armylovers. if i could buy lets say 10 soldiers and 1 officer ,,, THEN my money would disapear fast i must make a company of the new soldiers. the new fort remind me in a way of a mix between lagoon lockup and sabre island from imperial soldiers . there is not a BIG set here, but i think thats smart of TLG first smaller "teaser set" that grandparents can buy to the children. and then , if the theme go well follow with bigger and bigger sets.

i see there is a set with a farm on. i wrote many mails to TLG and asked for cows so i could make a farm, told them that normal animals could go for any theme exept the underwater and space themes. It must be true, it MUST be true, IT MUST BE TRUE..... please

I got the pictures now. and i looove them. if this isnt a joke it will make 2009 the happy year in my lego time :) feeling like a child waiting for xmas now

Hi folks. i dont want to see "hints"v like this. It makes me thinking to hard and then i cant sleep .I WANT PIRATES Like the admiral. just hope its a real TLG minifig. and if a new pirate them is coming i hope its not too far away from the old one. I want bigger ships and forts but when i look at the facts that lego is intended for kids(and us ) i dont think we will get a minifig scale of Victory etc . And it would look strange for me if i buy a small ship (in a new theme ) and that ship turn out to be bigger than SESor BSB.

We must be the MOST optimistic people on this planet, as soon as anyone that work for TLC speak with a rusty voice we shout "PIRATES" hehe. i hope they start up the pirates again. and if they do that i hope they make the imperial guards , and imperial soldiers. and the non shooting cannons (those with a x on ) . then i could let my old sets blend into the new ones. at least make the minifigs. What i would really love is that they invented some sort of old style road plates like in the city/town roads. could be used in both pirate, castle, viking, and even in adventures themes. when i see a town where they have the roads that can be layd down in many kind of pattern. And last. some animals. sheeps ,cows, chickens etc. then we could make our own farms, no matter what kind of theme we build in.

Hi folks The last sea battle in Norway was between the Najaden(a 42gun frigate) in the Danish/Norwegian fleet and the british ship of the line HMS Dictator. Najaden was sunk on Lyngør Harbour 12july 1812. During the union between Denmark and Norway it had one fleet. So my suggestion for a name would be just Najaden.
