  1. Nice build, love the way it actually has laces. Great work!
  2. Simply amazing, a lot lot better than the original!
  3. I love it, looks just like my local christmas market.
  4. Looks fantastic, probably the modular I am most looking forward to getting!
  5. I've had an issue before where they couldn't find my account on the system, using name/phone number/email. So i opened a new card and emailed lego customer services to combine the 2 point cards I had, no problem. Lego customer services are really great.
  6. Fantastic! You can't beat a good mosaic, and this is a great one!
  7. I've gotta say, I love them all. I really like the idea of a mish mash of sets, I'm sure they will appeal great to kids as well
  8. I really like it, its got the look of the UCS, but doesn't look like it takes up nearly as much space. Great job!
  9. It looks like the best modular set by a mile. I don't mind that it is slightly thinner, I think the details and the fact it isn't a full 32 stud wide all add to the charm of it. I still need the Town hall and Cinema for my collection, but this is a day one must buy for me!
  10. Fantastic, it looks brilliant, and good business sense from the cinema to use it to promote the Lego movie as well.
  11. Lots of nice techniques for the slope here, makes it look a lot less blocky!
  12. This is fantastic, I love all the little details and recognizable buildings you have incorporated.

  14. Excellent work again, such imagination goes into these. The graduate one is just perfect, captures the scene perfectly.
  15. Sorry, I didn't mean to kick anything off. Lets just keep it to Lego bargains. Whens the next big store having a sale?! Yup I think they did include the Lego logo, thats why I went to check it out, got in at 9am, and there was no Lego at all, just other old toys they wanted to shift the stock off.
  16. I think thats a really valid point, I have recently arrived in Australia from the UK to travel and work for a year. Back in the UK I was working in retail and getting around 6 GBP an hour, so to save up for something such as Diagon Alley it would take me approximately 22 hours (with the RRP being 132 GBP). For the same basic job in retail over here I am earning around $20 an hour, and given that the RRP of Diagon Alley is $280 (iirc) it would take me 14 man hours to save up for it. So for me, Lego over here actually works out cheaper. And since I bought Diagon Alley in the Target sale, at $230 it only took me 11.5 man hours to afford it. Thats nearly half the price. I know its not a great way to look at it, because cost of living is higher in Australia than the UK, but in terms of lego vs wages, Australia wins. Hope that made sense, and I would love Lego to be cheaper, but I don't think its too bad as it is. Also, I went to the Little Sprout annual 50% off toy sale in Canberra Civic today and there was no lego whatsoever. Big dissapointment!
  17. I just got back from K-Mart in Belconnen, grabbed the last lighthouse on the shelf! Was in last night, and there were quite a few left, and there was no mention of the discounted price, so word must be getting round on the internet.
  18. I was hoping to go to the VIP evening, but I can't make it now which is a shame given that I am working in Woden, 5 minutes from the venue atm :( I will defiantly be going to the event in the day though, cant wait.
  19. Sorry to disappoint, but the main conference of AFOLcon was today, and while there were some great previews of other lines (and all round fantastic speakers), there was no mention of the new modular building. I'm as upset as the rest of you
  20. I have done it in the past when I was much younger. I painted some slopes in a chrome colour and some minifig legs and I regret it now. My advice is to not do it, as now I wouldn't use those bricks I have painted so they are useless now really
  21. +1 for Baron great trade, thanks
  22. Very nice display, great job on the rocks. I look forward to seeing more MOCs for the s4 figs!
  23. tiberium_blue +1 Great trade, thanks
  24. I just found out about this, and I booked my ticket for AFOLcon immediately. I love hearing about the process of creation and a full day of talks on lego sounds great. I am also excited to meet other AFOLs, I've never met another die hard lego adult in person before! It should be amazing :D
