  1. Thank you, I am half thinking about pulling out the pink stairs and building some different ones. Paul
  2. Thanks for the suggestions. The building will be two stories in top of this so three total. Paul
  3. Hi all, As part of my train layout I am building a few buildings around it, I have built a couple so far and they look fairly good (I think) however last night I made a start on the office building and have ran in to a problem. Looking at the photos below you can see what I am planning on doing, building the office building up higher so that I can have parking under it. The issues is the weight of the office building will buckle / break the base plate I am using, putting a few loose breaks on it last night showed just how much this is happening. Any ideas / suggestions? I really don't want to build the whole bottom layer solid as that will not look as good. Paul
  4. Some more photos: Train COntrol Cafe Cafe Workshop Workshop Top view.

  6. This is the start of my train layout. My plan is to build the following on it: - Train control tower - Storage shed - Take away shop - Train workshop - Break room / office I spent quite a bit of time last night making sure I was happy with the track before I start building the buildings, I think it is about the best track layout I can do with the space and pieces I have. Paul

  8. HI all, I am sorry if this topic has been covered before, I did a search but could not find anything related to it. Basically I have a large sheet of MDF which I have my train set up on, now I am happy with my layout I want to attach the tracks so they don't move around as much. What methods exist for doing this and what have other people found that works / does not work? Paul
  9. Thank you for the reply and answers to my questions, makes buying extra parts much easier. Paul
  10. Hi all, I am very new to the whole Lego Train world having being a Lego City fan for the first 10 years of my life and then moving on to Lego Technic for the last 18 years on and off. I sold all my Lego Technic late last year and now I have purchased my first train (7939) which I built over the weekend. I now have some questions: 1- Should / does anybody else's train fly off the tracks at higher speeds? I have already crashed quite a few times and as mine is up off the floor on my desk it breaks when it flies off. 2- I am getting my head around the various systems used in the past as I have never had anything to do with trains before, can the older rolling stock be used with this train / track? 3- Due to the space I have to set this up I can't lay out the track like it shows on the box so I have done it a different way so it fits in the space I have, does anybody have any suggestions for possible layouts using the track from this set? Thanks Paul
