I was thinking last night about how strong Lego is and what sort of loads (physical and rotational) something like a Lego Technic engine could handle. For something like the standard engine below what sort of RPM's do you think it could handle and what parts would break first? I might build up one and run something like an electric drill just to see, has anybody done this before? Paul

I can report all fixed now, one of the gears was not aligned right, all ok now. Paul

Tonight I have made some changes to 8070, now as the hood open it also runs the engine. Look at the video and photos below to see how I did it. I can still easily change it to just open the hood and I can also get it to turn turn the rear wheels. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdgcfjMJWzk Paul

While building this did anybody find they were short one blue slotted pin? I was but lucky I had some spares in my parts bin I could use. Paul

Hi all, I finished building up 8070 last night, everything seems ok except the bonnet won't open :( it was quite late when I finished it so I didn't have much time to see where the problem was, has anybody else had this issue with it? Other then that I love it and think it is great. Paul

Yes I knew that, I used the word set where I should have used model :)
