Just wow. You're one of my top 3 MOC creators for a reason. :) I have all the pieces for Inthert's version (who is also on my top 3 list btw) buuuuut I'll just have to scrap that and make this instead. However, I'm curious to hear what you others think of the pipes. Tan VS reddish brown? Tan looks great but most models still seem to have them copper colored. Not sure what is the most accurate compared to the movies; I guess it all depends on the lighting and is impossible to say - just like the infinite white VS light bluish gray discussions for X-wings and Snowspeeders. :D But it would be awesome to see a comparison with the ordinary yellow Y-wing with reddish brown pipes, if possible.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
danielwerner replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Not sure if this question goes here, but where do you guys buy Star Wars (and other themes) custom prints and minifigs? I've checked out several places and only Firestar Toys have Lego-like quality. Other printing techniques give that blurry watercolory look which I hate. Are there other places to get premium quality prints? Looking for Star Wars printed tiles, minifigs etc. -

I hope we get Admiral Ozzel and maybe a new Piett as minifigs for the new ISD. :) -
[INSTRUCTIONS] Executor class Star Dreadnought
danielwerner replied to onecase's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I’m curious about one thing - how come the little ”city” on the top isn’t in dark bluish gray? It looks a bit darker than the rest of the ship on some pictures and the same color on others. Can someone explain? How should it be? Is there a risk of it looking too monotoneous with everything light bluish gray? :)- 127 replies

What's your no1 LEGO SW Set of All Time?
danielwerner replied to Little Brix's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I’m not sure I like the practice of disguising promotion of your video (and a clickbait one at that) as a question thread. But hey, I’ll play ball. :) My favorite set is probably 10030, the original UCS Star Destroyer. So I’m super hyped if the rumors are true and we’re getting a new one this year. ... even though Raskolnikov and Onecase will have done a better job, guaranteed. -
[MOC] [INSTRUCTIONS] UCS Tantive IV - CR-90 Corvette
danielwerner replied to Kit Bricksto's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'll happily join the crowd who's interested in the instructions. Awesome model! :) -
Wow, those colors! Any hope of instructions? ^^

I'm still a bit curious on how sturdy it is, in your own words. How are the inner technic bricks? Are the panels fragile? :) I'd love to compare this to Raskolnikovs ISD in terms of sturdiness, because look-wise they're both absolutely excellent.

I guess you could just go for regular 1x2 tiles? But then you won't have such an accented rim. Any thoughts on how many you need btw? I counted to 124 but maybe there's more somewhere? No, no difference except the superlaser. Which you can rotate so it shows as little as possible.

Agreed, just like the TIE Fighter. :) Some parts have been improved while for others I prefer Jeracs. Nice job though! :)

Imperial Star Destroyer Intimidator MOC-77525
danielwerner replied to SirCharles1977's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah I know, I just meant as an alternative way of getting it into Bricklink since the user said he was experiencing problems. :) -

Oh, I missed that part. But still, If I'm not mistaken you can open the xml-file in notepad and then manually copy and paste everything in Bricklink. :) -

danielwerner replied to SirCharles1977's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You can always just add the partslist manually, that's what I do when it bugs. :) Click Inventory > Export Parts > Bricklink XML > Copy everything > Go to Bricklink > Want > Upload > Upload Bricklink XML format > Paste everything (don't forget to choose which Wanted List) > Proceed to verify items > Accept > Done! -
Imperial Star Destroyer Intimidator MOC-77525
danielwerner replied to SirCharles1977's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hey, don't forget your own awesome version. :) But yeah, I want one of them on display in my man cave, but the last few days have made it incredibly hard to choose one. Everyone are 10/10. -
[MOC][LDD][PDF] The Viper probe droid, aka: Imperial Probe Droid
danielwerner replied to mcgrah's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Just have to say: This is a really impressive build, and it looks great when finished. BUT...! It was an utter NIGHTMARE putting it together. Especially the two main "body" parts, which caved in with the slightest pressure. Almost ripped my shirt out of frustration several times. :D- 57 replies

WHOA. This is beautiful; but now I can't decide if I prefer this or Raskolnikov's (ISD Aggressor) version. I don't want to sound rude by comparing too much, but I won't have space for both and I think both are equally impressive builds. A few questions: 1. How much does it weight, approximately? 2. How stable is it? Will is break when touched? :) 3. Are any parts super-rare? Thanks, and again - what an awesome MOC (as per usual with your creations).

Apparently he bought the R2D2 one for $30 000... I guess some people don't know what to do with all their money. :D Deeeefinitely not jealous. ^^

That's not the point. The point is that Lego gave the figure to some people, and refused some people. They have to be consistent - either you give it to everyone who can show a serial number and receipt, or you give it to nobody. I would totally have been a bit cranky that I missed out on a very limited figure if they had said no to everyone, but it still would've been fair. Also, you never know the history of the purchase. Maybe someone thought they got the new set but got the old one. Maybe the store had the wrong picture. Etc. It's customer support hell, and that's why it's a bad practice to change something in an already released set. Giving everyone the new figure is the right thing to do imo (the cost is minimal for them, and it's a nice goodwill), but they should've been more strict on proof of purchase from the start. It seems they just threw away figures to everyone who asked (figures who ended up on ebay for $100 a piece!) and that's why it exploded.

SB00301 B-PROJECT (MOC Resistance Bomber UCS)
danielwerner replied to StarBricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I can kind of agree with this (even though I would still buy the instructions without getting a parts lists beforehand). However, it would suck to buy the instructions only to find out that some rare parts are impossible to find. I just hope that it doesn't include any osbcure parts that hasn't been manufactured for years. :) -
SB00301 B-PROJECT (MOC Resistance Bomber UCS)
danielwerner replied to StarBricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I disagree, I absolutely loved the concept. It's called MG-100 Starfortress, a reference to the B-17 Flying fortress and B-29 Superfortress of WW2 (and the B-52 Stratofortress of the cold war). However, I think they exaggerated it's slowness a bit. I mean, they're heavy bombers but in the movie it felt like they were moving at a SNAIL PACE. Still, I think the scene with the bombers and the Dreadnought was the highpoint of the movie. ^^ -
Thanks for the tip - I tried that just to be sure, not expecting much. This way at least TLG can be sure that it's not being abused by scammers since you HAVE TO provide proof of purchase (serial number from the instruction booklet). Edit: I think they'll actually send me the parts now! The above + whining about their practice in this case (I wasn't expecting anything from their part, I just wanted to give some feedback that I think it's unfair to give some people the parts and some not) seems to have done the trick.

SB00301 B-PROJECT (MOC Resistance Bomber UCS)
danielwerner replied to StarBricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sounds awesome! How stable is the build (both alone and when mounted on the stand)? :) -
Haha yeah. The money's not a huge deal for me (not saying I can buy a million Finches with no sweat, but on the other hand not that I'll have to live on cup noodles the rest of the year) but it's mostly the principle that bugs me. But I really want to build the UCS Resistance Bomber that Starbricks are working on, and it wouldn't feel complete without a Finch. ^^ I guess it's just Murphys law. If I hadn't bought it the Finches would've run out TODAY and skyrocket in prices - since I bought it I bet they'll give em away for free within a few weeks. So you should thank me for buying one! :P I agree it's a pretty crappy practice by TLG in this case. It would've been one thing if they'd update the set and just tell everyone "too bad if you missed out on the set - we have no way of handing out replacements" - but here they gave replacements to a lot of people and after a while just started refusing. I get WHY, it wasn't feasible since so many contacted them. But really, either send replacement parts to everyone or no one IMHO.
-
Pulled the trigger for one Finch for almost a hundred bucks now. Feels pretty bad to feed the whole usurious practice, but I really need that minifig... I'm sure it'll be announced as a freebie or polybag now. ^^
