Thanks 'Fangy' for the review of this AWESOME set ! This was my first LOTR set I purchased two weeks ago and I totally agree with you scores indeed. The highly detailed minifigs leave even many SW, HP and POTC for dead and new horse totally rocks ! Now I can't wait to buy Helm's Deep and add this set to it.

Thanks and I might put the bank in-between those two buildings, I'll lay the foundations for it tomorrow. And yes, that is a mail box that also works like a real mail box. Fresh picture update tomorrow....but still keep those suggestions and comments flowing - this tiger needs all the help he can get. Keep watching !

Well, I try and keep my MOCs complete to display them at shows, etc., but sometimes I pull a few down that are either had a serious mishap or too hard to move around or worse need the parts to build something more important. It sometimes a heart breaking situation where a piece of hard work, blood, sweat and tears is stripped to build something else. My Aussie country town, 1950's Aussie street and my new rural town USA will stay mostly together.....I hope.

lightningtiger replied to rebelego's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I'm blown away, a smoke blowing Lego engine....totally AWESOME 'rebelego' ! Seriously I must look into the smoke blown mechanism for a MOC I might plan for next years train show in my area. Brick On 'rebelego' ! -
That's a home run there 'HIGHWAY PATROL', spot on design in style and size ! Now this is the kind of fire truck Lego need to release with their next airport.....when ever that is ? Brick On 'HIGHWAY PATROL' !

"It puts quite a strain on the rope when going up by the way." you say.....I can believe it, seriously I hope we don't have rope breakages and a lot of crying by kids playing with it and breaking the lift rope ?

There was at least a dozen of these helicopter rescue sets at 74 bucks at BigW on Goodwood Road, I should check the ad again to see if it said 10 dollars off or is it a misprint ? -
Lets see how this fits now after some little adjustments to the three structures. The bank once designed will sit next to the True Value store, still does the the driveway roof on the Kroger gas station need raising up any higher ? Does the flow of structures look okay or not ? I'm a little more up to speed on town in my own state and other parts of Oz I have travelled through, but the USA of course not so. Any advice I will be grateful for, thanks. Farmer's Bank will be early this week coming though I have the BOC project to finally get over the finish line and the mid-year toy sales start....ouch my wallet ! Keep watching everyone !

Now this a w-i-p, looks fantastic at the moment ' castor-troy ' ! The colours used are wonderful and very French-looking indeed....late 19th century. I can't wait for the next update, Brick On !

Kmart starts on the 28th of June, catalogue will be online 21st of June. Target are starting a few hours early on the 20th from 6pm - VIP night. Edit - BigW has the City Helicopter Rescue listed for 63 dollars ! My goodness a genuine bargain from BigW ! -
Interesting topic, all these licensed products are for one thing only.....MONEY, making money either selling toys or having the toys promote box-office or TV ratings for even more advertising dollars to flow. '1974' why the reference to ADHD, know something about this do we.....I do, my son is a sufferer of this ailment so I know what goes on in a child's mind that has this. Besides I feel that has nothing to do with why Lego or any other toy company produces licensed products. Lego were producing licensed products back as far as the early 1950's.....Ferguson Tractors if my memory serves me correct. In pop culture of film or TV what's in now is what goes forth onto toy store shelves, hence the more films/TV shows that can be marketed towards children the more themes appear on those shelves....being the latest trend. Is it too much, well that's a personal choice there I feel.....I don't mind the broad selection. It's kind of fun and I can share the fun with my son who enjoys POTC, Harry Potter and most of all Star Wars.

Thanks for those shots to compare heights of different Lego structures, this is a tall build indeed....I hope the scaling is at least realistic ?

Thanks for the news 'Whup', but I won't hold my breath for a special sales price. BigW on their exclusives I have noticed aren't discounted that often if at all. So I would say 64 bucks is the best we might expect sorry to say. -
Highly detailed review 'NCD', though I do feel information overload but thanks for your hard work compiling those photos. I own one of these sets and find it hard to fault....except on price (but I brought it on sale 39 bucks instead of 49). Brick On Review On Recycle On 'Night City Dream' !

I those tigers.....I wonder why ? Excellent graphic designing there 'Wrinkledog' !

Thanks for this fantastic and extensive review of this new Octan parking station 'xtremegoogler', there are positives and negatives in this set. First, the positives. The look of the whole design takes me back to my childhood , I had more than one parking garage with lift to park your Matchbox/Hot Wheels cars in with petrol bowsers down the bottom plus a boom gate too. Those new vehicle designs allowing two minifigs and/or using more realistic wheels and tyres are a huge bonus The DSS is important and needs to be used to i.d. every part of set . The guy in the orange open shirt, cool to get another new torso, plus business man looks typical and perfect to fit in a modern city layout.....going to the bank or pizza bar for lunch. Now, the negatives. No jack and flat bench top in the workshop area . The petrol bowsers....even though cool automotive ones (reminds me of someone's idea months ago.....I wonder who ? ) I just don't see the design being totally realistic, especially the nozzle mounting and overall shape of the bowser .....though a good note the sticker for the screen including a pay point is clever. No small shop to sell ice creams, drinks, vehicle top-up fluids, wiper blades or brake light globes . The tow truck....a bit small eh ? The yellow car and tow truck having those wide wheels still .....what ? Does Lego City have streets which are slippery and vehicles need more grip on the road ? Another Octan uniform....same for five years...how about something fresh Lego. Only one female minifig , oh, come on Lego....a female business person or a female security officer or even female mechanic could have been included in the set. Even after those negatives I'm looking forward to buying this, more for the fact it's the first petrol station of any sort since 2007 and 2008 Town Plan plus that feeling of being a kid again with his old wind-up lift parking garage. I'll be proud to build this and display it at home (stuff what the wife says) and at the next train show I'm invited to join in with.

Quickly TRU Gepps Cross has all the LOTR sets....of course not the forge one though. -
Great review 'LuxorV', cute set....red bucket is a plus and a clever design for the water feeder for the little bunny rabbit....but that is one big carrot for such a little bunny ! Oh, by the way your big rabbit giving orders to the little ones......BIG BUNNY from The Goodies episode called "Invasion of the Moon Creatures" The hutch is nice, simple and don't forget obey BIG BUNNY !
