  1. Thanks for the kind words 'wooootles' , yeah....roofing shouldn't be that hard - my original New Mannum buildings had roofs but now the reason for reducing building depth might make sense eh ? (makes roofing easier, still allows playability)
  2. This morning I chose the buildings that will form the town centre. Landmark store - w-i-p ANZ Bank - frontage kept but side walls changed, ATM moved more forward. Post Office - basic shape kept but interior must fit in an 8 stud deep space....challenge time. Ford Dealer - mega challenge to shrink depth while still keeping the look of a showroom. Hardware store - another challenge to shrink depth, rearrange displays to fit especially the electrical appliances and paint tinting machine. Supermarket - shrink depth to fit as per other designs while still maintaining counter, gondola and dairy case. Police Station - perhaps the easiest to redo. I decided to scale down the town again to the basics so it doesn't break the bank. Any other project minus BOC and perhaps the Friend's contest are on hold. The real challenge will be roofing the larger structures, but I like a challenge....hopefully I have this all completed by next year ready for the next Railshow.
  3. Ha, take that Barbie next year eh ?! AWESOME Brickmaster book for girls......it will be a huge seller ! Great find there 'Oky'.
  4. Thanks for the reply 'SalvoBrick', roofs are back in then. I shall have roof and fresh stickering completed on this building by Monday night (C.S.T. Au or 9.30+g.m.t.). Perhaps I should also explain that I'll be using 48x48 base plates, 8x16 tiles for roads and brand new street light designs too ! Hopefully it will make transporting and displaying my town easier. Keep watching !
  5. I was thinking since I'm redesigning the whole town, either interiors changing or whole MOC's changing I thought why not post everything new here. No bumping up months or even years old topics any more for New Mannum. First cab of the rank is the Landmark store. Similar to last model except I made the store smaller but still kept enough space to place minifigs. I used my experience building the BOC project here, this is now a w-i-p again.....new stickers for the main sign plus merchandise and advertising inside the store. I'll update on Monday once I have the new second hand printer up and running (scored it for free with full cartridges too ). Comments and questions on what's next for New Mannum are very welcome. Keep watching ! Edit - Should I install a removable roof ?
  6. Looking good your design is 'Allan', can't wait to see the interior completed. Brick On !
  7. Two things that would stop me buying Lego....apart from lack of cash, Lego quality being the same as MB.....goodness forbid ! and of course, DEATH !
  8. I built it last night, AWESOME build and the light up brick sets it off. Buy it if you can.....well worth it !
  9. I heard from a good source about a large winter set last year coming up in the series.....maybe Santa's Workshop ? Edit - looking into German words starting with Hu with the dots above the u....something to do either with hats or metalwork or just a cabin ?
  10. Congrats on having your design display in an actual Lego store 'sonicstarlight' .....though you never know who will take a close look at it ?
  11. Neat review 'JackJonespaw', I enjoyed building this set yesterday.....I can't wait to place the spider some where are freak out the wife ! This set I vote above average, the spider is better than the last one for HP and the accessories (spare sword and two spare rings) ! Brick On Review On !
  12. Lucky found this at a BigW store, only 64 bucks AU ! (AWESOME build, the lightup brick works a treat !)
  13. Wonderful w-i-p 'SalvoBrick', keep going it's looking great.
  14. The tiger will build something special for Category 2. But it could be considered a room I guess, would part of a department store be allowed as a room ?
  15. Pardon me for being a little off-topic, but 'CorneliusMurdock' has a right to say what he said. Some people would be offended by such wording, and if I'm right I think it's in the rules of using this site too. Back on topic, Lego must be on a winner....Helm's Deep's are starting to sell out in some Australian stores, Weathertops are selling well as well. I hope BigW will have them in stock next Thursday so I can layby one.
  16. Thanks for the kind comments 'The Blue Brick' and 'Artifex', I'm very grateful for such kind words.....makes MOCing all the more worthwhile. Now it will be tomorrow when I start the redesign of the town centre....busy day lots of callouts, a bit of cash.....which I'll need. Toy sales and BOC's request for more high on their model ! Keep watching !
  17. Quote from Facebook "We are ready to purchase the lego store - is it possible to add a few more 'things' in to the store to make it look fuller also make the back and side walls higher giving it more of a store look." Great BOC now want it bigger, I had a bad feeling about this.....oh, well more white bricks needed !
  18. Oh, I hate to you there is only one left, I took the second to last one and slapped it on Layby ! Helm's Deep seems to selling out.....well it did this morning at Myer TTP !
  19. Ah, 25% off is wonderful !
  20. Or it could be just an unveiling of the Spiderman set.
  21. Thanks 'gotoAndLego'.....I needed that spark of inspiration ! I will be updating later today.
  22. Seven months ago I thought that's it, but seven months later and I'm sitting at the computer trying to find inspiration for my current projects then snap......what about New Mannum ? I decided a major rethink of layout and building positions plus new more real life looking roads was needed. So I'll start today, so what stays and what gets shelved ? Easy, staying....supermarket, hardware store, farmer's store, police station, Ford Dealer, bank and post office. The town centre will be a side road running parallel to a highway, this was one of the original ideas I had for NM but never really tried to make it work. Get ready everyone, my town is back like old faithful.....keep watching !
  23. Mind blowing AWESOME 'VFracingteam' ! And you used a stack of technic lift arms in your design.....goodness, how many did you use ? I all the detailing on this craft, though the only thing missing is a PF system to raise and lower the ramp ? Brick On Sail On 'VFracingteam' !
  24. Excellent modifying idea, those lights would fit perfectly in any of the modulars or even city/open back building.
  25. I would say Target or Myer with their 20% off, but I'll be buy mine at Toy Corner.....25% off !
