Modular Madness: London Joint City and Midland Bank
lightningtiger replied to LeeMcG's topic in LEGO Town
Great job so far on the frontage of your building 'LeeMcG', totally has that Victorian era look to it. Keep going and Brick On 'LeeMcG' ! -
What a wonderful little rural church you have made 'Vicmackey80'.....those sunflowers really set it off. Brick On !

Excellent modifications to the 2009 garage with parts from the new one ....I always thought the 2009 one should have come with a set of bowsers. I like it a lot actually....I wonder if someone will also fuse a 7993 from 2007 into the mix one day ? Brick On Drive On 'Xyver' !

Even better would be just a dream list topic like the one over in the licensed forum.

AWESOME creation in UCS style 'Mr Misty' and congrats on being front paged with this as well ! The best thing of all is the shuttles in the shuttle bay ! Brick On where no brick has been bricked before !

Reading the last few postings and I feel a little lost....the topic is 2013 Train Sets and all I read are why Lego has screwed up it's marketing on trains over the past decade. No real wishes or likes.....just complaint and counter-complaint. The Brickster will not be impressed if we don't actually stay on topic ?

I've started the bank redo..... Plus a fresh street view....... Keep watching. Edit - I have added a payphone in front of the post office now....fresh pictures tomorrow.

Though if you buy a few extra sets, you use your imagination and MOC build different engines and rolling stock. Also I have witnessed for myself children around Lego trains, they love them especially the non-powered ones....they like to push them and control themselves. Most of the powered trains I feel are brought by adults and maybe a few are actually built for kids....there would be a few, mostly for us big kids. This year, no trains and no space or castle theme (LOTR is a licensed theme) neither so perhaps 2013 might see the return of trains to Lego city. Going by how police and fire sets get redone every three years, 2006/7 saw trains and of course 2010 saw trains....2013 we can hope.

At last Cuusoo has published my mark IV hardware store....hey, us male folk like hardware stores, car parts stores, camping/fishing stores....you get the drift ! Hardware Store (Mark IV) I spent a half hour last night transferring the bank from base plate and a 16x16 plate plus working out the ATM's new position. The teller sadly loses her chair, but we keep the ATM with it's safe though full of money. A few hours time I will post fresh pictures of the bank. Keep watching.

LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
lightningtiger replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
'GRogall' you are a legend....thanks for the new images. I'm impressed with the new Spiderman and Doc Ock figures, the playset reminds me a little of the Hulk breakout set. This will sell like anything....hopefully out gunning that other MoB. I shall look forward to August to secure one of these sets. -
Great fusion of model team and city designing, I really like all the equipment plus the fact the truck is heavily brick-built. Brick On Rescue On 'BrickBox' !
-
Great review 'CopMike', I guess for a poly bag it is a cheap way of scoring a minidoll. The sand castle is too simple, but the accessories are handy....though purple shoes with green flippers ? Brick On Review On with your Friend's !
-
Inspiration...... I'm not only an AFOL, but AFOCC......adult fan of Coca Cola....the drink and of course collectables.
-
Thanks 'The Snake 87' for your kind words....I hope you do build your mini modular town and post it on EB. I hope for myself tonight to start the bank on a fresh 16x16 plate....but need more money to buy another 48x48 base plate. (Actually three more would do it) Keep watching !
-
The station wagon and Coke truck are among your finest vehicles yet .....only Coke decals are missing from the truck ! Brick On Drive On 'Hoexbroe' and seriously I wouldn't mind a Coke truck like that myself !
-
Thanks for the review 'nielsv', I'm still deciding to buy this or not....I have the mine on layby and the other three sets built already, but another jumbo dumper ? I already have the 2005 one, but in this ones favour it's all brick/plate built....in 2005 it had a large one piece dump tray (though more realistic looking ). Nice new 2x2-1x2 bracket...handy part for MOCing. If I can some spare money this week (ah, car repairs and gas bill on the same day ) I buy it while the Kmart toy sale is on. Brick On Review On 'nielsv' !

Ah, I see what you mean 'SalvoBrick', the detailed roofs....well sort of..more tiles than anything else and about 8 1x2 double sided stud bricks to hold the roof and ceiling together. Plus I see the point again 'Artifex' on the gondola, but consider this...what if you must walk down past the counter to enter the supermarket proper to start shopping ? I was too tired last night to start on the bank, I'll try again later today to get a start on it. Keep watching.
-
Ah, perhaps you are right.....but I must stay with this design so everything fits on to the 48x48 base plates I'm using. If you look at the last train station Lego released there was no way for the station master to get behind the counter.....same thing here, hence the open backed classic town style is the best in this situation. Thanks for the feedback 'dalekcann' !
-
Thanks 'Artifex', but which one the cans shelf or the dairy case ? (the cans one a minifig is perfect in scale and the dairy case...well you try shopping and having to reach at the back for the milk ? ) Tonight I might start work on the bank's remodelling....front stays but everything else changes....keep watching !
-
Thanks 'SalvoBrick' for your kind comment. I have updated my Cuusoo's on these four updated buildings (only three links at the moment). Supermarket Post Office Farmers Store Keep watching.....Brick On !
-
Totally mind blowing AWESOME creation.....'reload' you are a genius ! Brick On !

Thanks for the feedback 'Ferrik', the stickers are all flat....must have been the flash causing a visual distortion. Some fresh interior shots..... More to come....keep watching !

Today sees signage for the IGA and props for the Mitre 10 (maybe a fresh sign for it too). Question....what should be next the Ford Dealer or the ANZ Bank to next to the supermarket ?
