  1. Oh, yeah the worker is on his or her lunch break ! I'm planning a custom figure to serve those 8 customers....must be a good half hour wait.....hey we have the same with Australia Post ! Oh, yeah...post van too is being planned but no rifles !
  2. Surprise ! Bet you didn't see this coming did you ! I think New Mannum could do with a sister town maybe eh ? When I have more detailing done to my surprise plus a typical van for it....plus some workers who should go postal about it, I will open a topic of it's own ! Though if I get enough buildings, I'll stick them in one mega topic....we'll see. The building count is only two right now. Comments and suggestions always welcome.....especially American ones....more rural/country town ones thanks ! (I needed a break from BOC project for a few days)
  3. Bingo ! You hit it on the head, price point or how we can do with very little and still give the impression of that movie scene ! Remember folks this set is intended for people my son's age....around 12 give or take a few years. All kids care about is recreating the scene from the film and disposing of a few Jedi.....with the beginning of Vader !
  4. Thanks 'gotoAndLego' and 'soccerkid6' for your kind words, it's not the first time I have built a hardware store or used those little design tricks of mine but I thought it would be nice to Americanise something ! Still waiting on the Cuusoo review to give the thumbs up on posting it on Cuusoo. Keep watching, keep waiting !
  5. Thanks 'LT12V', er...no. BOC don't want to spend too much money so the walls you see is what they'll get. Now one female figure is done, but welding wire rack, hoses, workwear and fridge mechanic tool kits still to come....wait on spare cash to finish. I'm not sure how they will pay me yet being that I'm in Oz and they are in the U.K. ? (oh, well we'll work something out. ) Keep watching over the next few days for the final details.
  6. Excellent MOC 'LegoJalex', a more detailed version than the one we get in the recycling truck set....that poor guy looks like he's been henpecked by his wife or girl friend there ! Great job on the small stickers too, which medium do you use ? (I use glossy photo sticker paper) Brick On Recycle On 'LegoJalex' !
  7. Now that is C & C, Cute and Cool 'SheepEater' something classic town with a dose of technic ! Brick On Plow On 'SheepEater' !
  8. Excellent looking hanger transport '501st Commando' , neat weapons carrier on the back !
  9. Happy Birthday 'Sinner' ! Have a cold beer or three to toast your day of your birth.....but wait do walrus drink beer ?
  10. Thanks 'LegoJalex' for your kind words, that was my goal to make something modern but with that classic town feel. I have posted it on Cuusoo, I'll link it when Lego Cuusoo gives the okay to the design for it to be listed.
  11. I have now crossed the ocean again, this time to the U.S. Of A. ! Being a little bored this morning and on the spur of the moment I decided to make a small hardware store.....but one from the U.S.A. so I may present to you..... Okay, so what do we have, tools on display (minus drills and oil cans....used them else where....I wonder the BOC where ! )and toilet seats plus taps on the wall. Behind the metal trim look counter is drawers which would contain loose hardware, plumbing, electrical, etc., like it was in the old days. One of the reasons why I choose to design this was the number of people who prefer the more natural looking Lego structures - very few stickers - this only has one. I selected the colours to match the brand, but the design is similar to the TRU shop but I feel way cooler thanks to the sign....now that's what I call SNOT building ! Comments welcome....oh, yeah might be posting this on Cuusoo too....might have better luck with something American than U.K. or Aussie.
  12. Did anyone notice this character.... Very clever Lego....look at the number on his vest....1948. The last time London held the Olympics was in.........1948.
  13. The difference is the mounting bases are finished, only a few finishing touches to go now..... Keep watching everyone for those last additions to this megaMOC !
  14. Trust Myers an hour ago not to tell me that, the tiger isn't impressed with TTP ! But I might just go and get one one of the new SW sets....there is only two I want this year. Oh, by the way The Battle For Helms Deep 199.95 at TRU TTP ! (Sorry, no other LOTR)
  15. Pardon me, but what Australian history have you studied ? A fair chunk of Oz is desert, except where mining, tourism and farming can exist....I sound like a broken record. One thing hasn't been raised and that is TRU and their tax eh ?
  16. Oh, dear MB ! I see the Lego comic version hammering this one into the ground ! One retailer has told me, that thanks to the overload of Super Hero and action themes from not just Lego, but Haspro among others sales of all said product has been poor....the fact is he is clearing Kre-O out and he has sold ONE Marvel SH set in a month. The question now is do we have a hero overload ?
  17. Interesting redesign 'Solscud007', I agree about only one escalator in the original GE ! I look forward to updates, looks like it will be a cool modified GE !
  18. Time for the tiger to step into this debate, for a quick lesson in Australian geography. The reason why we don't have a huge spider-web of highways.....most of towns and cities are more coastal or 200 to 250km's from the coast line. Of course there are exceptions where mining and farming are the corner stones of those regions....add tourism as well to the mix. You can not compare Australia to the USA, population, number of retail outlets, etc., is totally different. I have been told prices for Oz are set by the major players in the game both Lego and giants - Kmart, Target, etc.,. The independents using get the raw end of the deal, only yesterday I found out that Toyworld stores must pay Toyworld a margin for supplying them Lego. Then on top of that Kmart will sell a set for 99 bucks, why the independents sell it for 139 just so Kmart gets a foot in the door with customers to make them think everything in their store is cheaper than anyone else. This is a standard retail ploy used worldwide. We in Oz have been complaining for years about the price of Lego, but thanks to the power of the Westfarmers and Woolworths together to run the country in a way....sadly it may never change. I guess wait for the sales, wait for it go on clearance, buy it online overseas ....they are only way to beat those beefed up prices.
  19. Looks like what I wrote, striped down scene. This is his private chambers, though the two extra chairs are third height,....though the reason is simple, it's a play set and not a stand-on-the-shelf and not-let-kids-play-with geek set.
  20. Looks like my son will get a total of four SW sets this year and the 9526 will be one of them....it's one of the scenes he tries and recreate with what figures he's got so to score these exclusives is a huge bonus ! To me the design looks like it's designed purely for role play hence for it's striped down look...if it's more detail you want, buy it and modify it to your needs. Cool it has the sliding doors for that dramatic entrance from the film and of course Windu's exit through the giant window pane. Yep, it's another TRU play set and my son will love it ! (ouch that means another almost 500 bucks on SW this year for him without the wife knowing about it )
  21. That 'Riquelme' isn't a MOC, it's a piece of art...pure piece of brick built beauty. Now that's what I call raising the bar totally, AWESOME work 'Riquelme' and Brick On !
  22. I promised new photos..... The rear wall is finished.... Now lets look at the front again.... Comments welcome.....more to come so keep on watching ! Edit - another angle.... BOC have now told me to skip the gas bottle bay and in some ways I'm happy about so the front is always on show. This is the real store......
  23. Excellent speeder bike design 'Walter' , Skywalker looks quite determined eh ?
  24. Thanks 'LCM' for those kind words, today sees the continuing work on the rear wall, plus finalising the merchandise....workwear packaged, gas hoses, first aid kits and fridge mechanic tool kits. More photos later today so keep watching !
  25. Neat little arrangement there 'chuckie8646', I didn't know there was triplets who become cameramen ? You got the lighting crew and the directors chair ? Lights, camera, Brick On !
