Actually, Evo is the "small" set with least pieces (36). Comparing Jawblade's piece count to Splitface's, the difference between small sets (8-9 Euro or so) and medium sized sets (11-12-13 Euro, depending on shops) appears to be nowhere as stark as it was in the past waves. Actually, I didn't even realize that there were supposed to be small and medium sized sets before I saw the different sized canisters..

I see, thanks Vader. I bought my first 2011 sets via Ebay towards the end of December, so I don't know the exact date where they begun appearing. But don't new sets debut on Ebay before they hit stores? Now that I think of it, back in 2008 I bought all 6 Phantoka on Ebay a few days before Christmas...
-
Last year we got pics of out-box sets in early December, I guess this year it will be the same- we got finalized pics already, not to mention those pics of Jawblade and Reapa (ironically the sets I'm less interested about, oh well). Hopefully they will hit stores in a few weeks. Speaking of which, does anyone know when Winter 2011 sets begun popping up on Ebay?
-
Actually, I paid less. He sold the Heroes at 8 Euro, the Villains at 11 Euro and Fire Lord (should've bought him at that time!) at 16,90 Euro. Awesome prices! That's why I'm looking forward to buy some 2012 sets from him in particular.

And March here in Italy. Luckily there's Ebay/S@H.. I should probably be able to buy a few of them for Christmas, if that German Ebay seller shows up like last year.

Glatorian head in a new colour? GREAT news, thank you Front. A tr. yellow head would look great on Furno- sorry, I really dislike the neon green head+red helmet combo- but I guess the chances to get it are slim, since he clearly has green eyes in the official pics. I would love to see tr. purple (in the future, of course) or tr. bright green as well. Wait, what if Furno's head were in that colour? It's tr. green for sure, but the CGI makes hard to determine which type of green it is.
-
Speaking of Furno, does anyone know what his left arm is supposed to represent (its function, weapon, etc)? That description in French talked about a "spear launcher", but I assume they referred to the minifig weapon piece mounted on the gun. Also, the discussion above about his transparent cladding piece reminded me how much colours he has. Seriously- black, red, silver, white, yellow, transparent orange (that..is orange, right?) and transparent neon green...and that's not counting the dark bley spear, the Zamor sphere and the usual blue pins. The other Heroes have a limited number of colours, he instead is such a mess.

And that's why I'm saying that Summer 2012 is going to introduce a new Hero. It seems weird to see a whole year with totally new bad guys and no new good guys at all, at least to me- mind you, I have no basis for this, it's just some fun speculation that I'm doing. I personally like the whole rotation scheme they use for the Hero teams as it keeps things fresh (the sole anomaly is Furno and, until recently Sotrmer), but IMO it needs at least one new element each year to prevent "stagnation".
-
I know it's quite early to think about this (or maybe not, if last year is anything to go by), but what are your predictions about the Summer 2012 team of Heroes? Personally, I'm pretty sure Furno is going to stay (there's little we can do about that, I guess..) and Stormer and Nex are going to return. Stringer and Bulk are probably going to return as well. I'm not sure about Rocka, since we had him for two waves in a row- then again, I don't know how popular he is, and he might as well become a second Furno. Not counting him we're already at 5 Heroes, which might be enough if they follow the pattern of the Winter 2012 wave. If they do not follow that..think about it, what did 2011 introduce that 2012 has not (so far)? Exactly, a new character. Just like Summer 2011 gave us Rocka, I think Summer 2012 is going to give us a new Hero! If they do really follow this route, my bet is on lilac: Ultrabuild Joker taught us Lego isn't above making Hero Factory cladding parts in that colour after all, plus it is a pretty popular colour among Lego fans to begin with. What do you guys think?

I used to be "Rise of the Skellies" (courtesy of Yoda, I'm pretty sure of it), due to my obsession with the Skeletons army from the Castle theme back in 2007. Now I have a new title, "Out of the dark" (courtesy of LuxorV), which symbolizes my return to Eurobricks after a long while.
-
^^ Not sure if I like that. I agree that the limegreen is quite inappropriate (especially for how it's distributed, and especially in the arms). However, with your modifications he looks really...dull? He has those two silver villain chestplates in the shoulders, and everything else is (save for the head, the gun, the black bones and a few details) bright blue. I really think he needs a secondary colour. Shakar EDIT W-wait, when did my title change?! It's cool but..

Well, I'm really happy to see all these new pictures, and now I really can't wait to see more of the others, especially Breez (whom, for some reason, I've been lking more and more recently) and Furno and Surge (whom I'm still iffy about). Anyway, I like Jawblade a lot more now, he looks much better form that angle. I love his helmet and his recoloured Furno blades. Still, him and Reapa remain my least favourite ones out of Black Phantom's gang- that doesn't mean I dislike them, I just like Splitface and Thornraxx a lot more. I still see Reapa more as a parts pack (dat neongreen) than a set to build and play with, but I've been warming up to him, so I will probably buy a duplicate to tweak him a bit and use the other pieces for MOCing. Rocka and Black Phantom look better than ever, and Evo looks MUCH cooler now. That helmet is just so..badass: look at that visor, it looks like he's starting directly at your soul. Just lengthen his legs a bit, make his left arm slightly bulkier, add some purple and he will look perfect. -Shakar

I see it now, thanks. It looks like an excellent piece, I'm sure we're going to have a lot of fun testing it. Aaaand one more reason to buy Joker.
-
Hello everyone, and happy Halloween! I was wondering, what bone piece does Black Phantom use on his arms? It's red, but it looks like it is connected to a dark grey ball joint. I checked the Superheroes Ultrabuild sets, but I haven't found something similar. I just can't understand, anyone helping?
-
Ouch, you're indeed right. Last night it seemed like that section was bent, giving me the impression of articulation, therefore of a new piece. I guess I shouldn't post when I'm tired..
-
Stop stealing my money Lego! I suddently really want to get my hands on Black Phantom and give him a Darth Vader cape (yes, I have one I never found a perfect wearer for, go figure). And is it just me or does his mask look like Hewkii Inika's Sanok? My opinion on the other sets remains the same, altough I think I noticed a new piece: look at Jawblade's arm-shoulder connection..
-
Agreed. Rocka to me is absolutely the best of the new heroes. He's a huge leap froward compared to both his 3.0 counterparts (I don't own him, but I do have Rocka XL and I built his smaller form from his pieces). At first I mIssed his white head, but now that I see he has more neon green on his body I like his new head much more. Black+gold+neon green= excellent colour scheme. Evo is growing on me. I still miss lilac though. I can't believe I noticed the white on Breez and Furno only now, I thought that was silver...I really don't like that choice, I'm definetely going to replace those pieces. I don't like the lime green on Surge. It used to be fne in his 2.0 form, but that was because only the eyes and the core had that colour. On the limb plates..meh, too much of a bright solid colour when compared to the bright blue. Navy blue instead of bright blue would have looked lovely, that is the sole "Metru colour" I can't get enough of. I'm thinking of replacing the lime green with Reapa's neon green and some silver, I wonder how he would look?
-
^^ They seem like some sort of energy shield to me. But they could have been done a bit better. I love the hexagon cells it's made of, however. One thing that I would love to clarify: Thronraxx's secondary colour: teal or light blue (like on classical Gali, Boggarak, Thok, Kiina..)? To me it seems really unlikely that they have teal returning only now, and only in a few pieces...
-
What, you mean the neon green things (you talked about the Glatorian hand so I assume you're referring to that arm)? I guess they slide and then attach, like a Rahkshi/Inika foot would. If you're talking about the other arm, I think the launcher has one O hole on each side that allows the Life on Mars robotic arms to connect the launcher to the Drilldozer/Jetbug claws.

Thank you very much! And thank you, Mesonak, of course.First off, no purple/lilac! Ah well, there's still Joker I guess. Ugh, Black Phantom is yet another Fire Lord-Rocka XL clone: a huge step down afer the villainous awesomeness that was Witch Doctor. I love his staff, however. I'm sure he will look better once we get more finalized pics- but I'm surely going to heavily modify him. The heroes are a mixed bag. I love Rocka, Evo and Surge, and I love how the heroes appear taller, more Toa-like (not that I mind the 2011 designs). On the downside, Furno and Breez don't interest me much (Breez is slightly cooler however) and I really don't like Evo's new helmet. The new villains are pretty cool. I love Splitface and the idea behind him, although I would've preferred some other colour raher than having red AGAIN. Thornraxx's best aspect is his colour scheme- hooaray for the return of light blue (or is it teal?)! The whole figure looks very cool as well, definitely buying him. Jawblade is probably my least favourite of the quartet, but that doesn't mean that I dislike him, he's actually pretty cool..but he has such a boring colour scheme when compared to the other bad guys, and I'm not too fond of his head and of his arms. Finally..Reapa! Looks like most of us were wrong about him, no way this guy is a hero, he's so ugly :D Awesome ugly, that is. But what interests me the most, admittely, are the neon green armour pieces. Those things are so awesome I can't even begin to describe my joy at seeing them. Hero Factory has been more generous with trasparent (non-eye) pieces than Bionicle ever was (exluding 2006 but mostly 2007, those years were marvelous), the only colour that is left now would be transparent light blue, but more colours are welcome as well. That's it for now. I have to sleep now.. Shakar

Hello! I came back from the dead. But looks like I came late. What happened to the 2012 pics? Did Brickshelf delete them? I swear that site scares me sometimes.

I wouldn't call Helryx evil. Being a OoMN member (their leader to be exact), I'd say she is a Knight Templar. My favourite characters almost always happen to be the bad guys...The Shadowed One, Teridax (both Magnificient Bastards), Mutran (Bionicle's own Mayuri FTW), Antroz, Miserix (he's a giant talking dragon who randomly shows up. That's some Crazy Awesome material riht there), Karzahni (I mean the psycho ruler, too bad he got written off.. LOL Surprize Vegetative State), Lewa, Nidhiki, Brutaka, (yeah, even though he's pretty much crazy now..ahem, possessed. But he's stil badass), Zaktan, Vezon, Pridak, Takadox....that's it for now. Yeah, TV Tropes has ruined my life. Shakar

I don't see why she has to be shy. Bionicle females never received such treatment.Anyway, maybe we should wait for someone who knows French more than us to clear this up. Shakar
-
Oh great, Lego. The only female in the team "has a little character...". You know the Unfortunate Implications this is going to bring, don't you? Shakar

Are there going to be 6 canister heroes and 6 box baddies? If so, it seems like the heroes will be small sized (can you notice the Avtoran/Agori/Stars limbs on them?), while the baddies will be composed of 4 canister size figures and 2 Titan sized figures. Some things I noticed (and some annoying personal comments, too ): -7162 Rotor: Inika shoulder plates? Stars feet? Avtoran jetpack on his hand? Thornax launcher (although many people already saw this)? Hewkii brown? -7145 Von Nebula: Stars feet again? Piraka clawed feet as hands (Brutaka/Maxilos style)? Vahki lower legs as forearms? Anyway, I love this guy. Dare to say, he looks better than many Bionicle villains. -The canister heroes with stupid names: not sure about the legs, but it seems like each of them has: a)Agori limbs (the ones Atakus features, to be precise) as arms (can't tell with 7164, but I suppose it will be the same for him) b)A sort of light on their chest (Iron Man, anyone?) c)Glatorian hands (recolours FTW!) They don’t inspire much to be honest. 7168 and 7168 look pretty cool but that’s it. 7165, the girl, continues Bionicle’s established tradition by looking like a guy with thick eyebrows. -The box baddies with decent names (sorry, too lazy to write them- I'll learn them by heart sometime): like in Bionicle, the bad guys look much cooler than the good guys. 7157 looks like Vezon reborn, I like how 7156 seems to feature either Bordakh staves or Gresh blades in lime green but I’m not sure about the rest, 7148 looks great, so does 7147 (I agree, it does really seems he has Nektann’s spine-head combo..also, Kanoka disk?). While I’m at it, the 4 medium sized baddies compose the Quirky Miniboss Squad, Von Nebula is the Big Bad and Rotor is his Dragon. I hate the names, but the sets actually look pretty cool. I'm hoping they won't be like Ben 10 (what huge disappointments they were!). Shakar
