I just noticed Voltix's lightning isn't yellow like on the catalogue, but a mix of lime and bright blue. Those pieces look really nice, but they don't match the rest of his colour scheme very well..I hope at least Speeda Demon's bike keeps the tr. yellow lightning pieces- Those recoloured Surge swords are gorgeus! And yes, Bulk's colour coordination is weird. The colour choices are excellent (the orange is great continuity sign, just like Surge's lime and Breez's red), but the additional colours ovewhelm silver so much.
-
Yeah, I thought about the blade in Black Phantom's mace. But what about the cladding on the shoulders? That definitely isn't bright blue.

Nice, at last! I hope we will get some detailed pictures soon. It's a pity the sets are always so poorly posed (Breeeeeeez!). The camera doesn't really help. Stringer seems to have printing, but Nex and Bulk are so terribly posed I can't tell. Nex is really growing on me, the tube is a really nice touch (though I wish they made a bright green tube, rather than reusing the lime one). But didn't he have a gunmetal shin armour piece on his left leg? I'll wait for better pictures. Stormer..eh, can't tell. He doesn't seem to have printing; then again Toy Fair sets are often prototypes (I remember Bulk 3.0 having infected Quaza spikes instead of his silver claws). I spy some shade of blue on his sword (and on his shoulders- oh yeah!), in contrast to the fully silver Breez katana in that catalogue showing Speeda Demon. Less useful, but better looking, IMO. I was about to say it was some sort of tr. blue colour, but then I realized it is a really opaque colour. Thornraxx's azure? Speaking of Demon, he doesn't seem to be featured. I thought he might be a store exclusive, then I took a look the Ninjago video and I didn't see any summer set there. I don't know what to think. On the villains- XT4 doesn't look as good as he did previously, due to the leg being straightened (they're supposed to be goat-like legs, damn it!) and all that gratuitous dark bley that's been plaguing sets since summer 2011. Voltix looks great as usual, I just wish his legs had some more purple- eh, lilac. Core Hunter..same as Stormer. Who poses these sets, seriously? tl;dr: I mostly like what I see, but I would see a lot more if they replaced whoever poses the sets with a more competent person.

I'm quite sure the new wing armour pieces attache via 2 small pins (the ones that can attach to a minifig hand, I don't know how they're called), much like the 2.0 Hero torso aromour, the Fire Villains "cores", the Savage Planet villains heads, the 2012 shoulder pad piece, and so on- so, you're going to able to remove them without sacrificing the arm cladding. It's such a widely used connection style in HF that I believe the new shin armour piece (see Captain America) will attach the same way and (I'm probably going to regret saying this later, but oh well) the same will be for the Stormer/Hulk chestplate.
-
Oh, good point. Well, I'm keeping my finger crossed- I tried to reproduce Cap America's pose with a Hero, using a 5 size shell and then a 4 one, and I actually am more convinced than before it may be a 4 size shell. But we don't need to wait 2 months- Toy Fair is coming in a few days! That, I guess, will also answer our doubts about Stringer and Cap America's blue. Dark blue would rock, but Front sort of disconfirmed it.. BTW, your name is great.

I too am fond of Iron Man, as well (though I prefer the HF summer sets). He looks much cleaner, design-wise, compared to most of the other sets in the line (Green Lantern arguably rivals him, but I don't have the set and if I happen to buy him it's going to be mostly due to the bright green pieces). I didn't notice Ironman's back armour- good eye! I'm quite a fan of that piece, and I already used it as back armour in a MOC of mine. But said MOC used that piece in combination with other ones- on its own, I'm not fond of how it looks. And yes, gold would have been great (heck, they could have even used a red one, which already exists in Raw-Jaw): we need that piece in more colours, I say. Yeah, that's why I'm asking: I'm pessimist about it, and I fear you're right. I don't mix them up often (the size 5 shells look noticeably wider), but at that angle it's a bit hard to tell. Still, I guess they're not going to make an old part in a new colour, when a similar, already existing one in that same colour works just as fine.
-
I had already noted that earlier in the topic. At least 4 summer Hero Factory feature it in additional colours: Bulk, Voltix, Core Hunter and Stormer. It's actually one of the upcoming new pieces I'm looking forward the most, it compliments the new shoulder pads really well. And are size 4 shells I see on Cap. America's forearms? I would love that-size 4 shells are sadly underused.

http://www.advance.dk/hero-factory-brainstorm/ I found the link on the BZP frontpage. I really wonder what it's about. Aaaand, Toy Fair is coming close. I'm so exicted!
-
I think you nailed him for the most part, however two things are wrong/missing: 1)His horns (Nex 3.0's claws in gold) are missing 2)You added one of Bulk 3.0's claw mounts on each shoulders, while the set features one only on the right shoulder. Aside from these, he seems accurate to the pic we have. I'm not sure about his chest armour since it's not visible in said pic, but your use of the 2011 Hero torso armour seems like the best guess to me.
-
Oh, sorry. How did I read that? Anyway, looking at it closely it is slightly darker, to be exact the other pieces are very slightly more on the yellow side while the helmet's shade is a bit more on the green side. But it is barely noticeable- if you didn't ask it, I would have never realized this.
-
Thank you for your help, Aanchir! I thought the weirdly coloured parts were some sort of glitch or something else, I never counted on them being real life pieces in the future. Shame, though- A black Surge helmet would rock. I tried to do the same thing as you did (shorter arm+hexagon shield), but I didn't manage to do it. Having both her and Rocka, however, I can tell you that the shorter forearm+hexagon shield+size 5 shoulder armour combo is very much possible, however the ball joint that connects the two shield pieces together needs to be rotated a bit. Hmm..I just compared both helmets, and it seems the same exact shade to me.By the way, I got Toxic Reapa and Jawblade last Saturday, at the amazing price of 6,50 Euro each. I guess that is a temporary sale, and the sets will go back to being priced at 8-9 Euro by the end of the month, otherwise I'm going to buy lots of stuff from them the next time I go there . Oddly enough, only the 9 Euro sets were there (minus Thornraxx), so no 13 Euro sets nor BP. What a strange place, that was. Anyway, I only opened Toxic Reapa so far, I'm opening Jawblade another day so I don't burn up the sets too fast (no, I'm not going to bear with a sealed set in my house for so much time, I lent him to my dad to resist the temptation ). He's pretty cool, but as far as I am concerned he isn't nowhere as amazing as Thornraxx. Still, I love the neon green cladding and for the price I paid him for I really can't complain about anything.

The new update for LDD is available! I'm very happy, as (in Extended Mode) it also includes the new Hero Factory elements as well (I didn't check much, but I did see the three new helmets+the other 3 2010 Hero helmets that have been reused, the hexagon shield piece, the two parts for the new zamor gun, the rounded shoulder pad piece). I haven't noticed stuff like the new villains headpieces or Breez’s katana yet, I hope it's just me not paying attention (looking for pieces in Extended Mode is so difficult, all the pieces are in one colour ). However, I noticed something weird in LDD mode (I can't take a screen capture right now, sorry). Did anyone else notice a silver Black Phantom helmet and a black Surge helmet, next to the same parts in their regular colours?

I am stunned. This is gorgeous. I had thought of using Stringer 3.0/Nex 3.0's claw hand as torso armour in the past, but I never got to develop it further. But you've made it work far better than I would have ever done. I love all the System pieces used here, and those feet! Great weapon, too. Superb work. Too bad she can't be built, unless you completely change the colour scheme.
-
On the issue of BP's head being reused- you can pretend that him, Voltix and Demon are from the same species (they're Skakdi).
-
I mentioned Stringer later in my post: But I sure hope you're right. I forgot, what's the deal with XT4's lower legs? They seem to feature a new cladding piece. I'm also puzzled by Voltix's thigh armour.

Oh God. Speeda Demon is so crazy and awesome. So much that I've finally started to call him Speeda, because that extra "a" is just so fitting with the silly yet awesome feeling the set gives. Also, I love the colours- lime and gold go great together! And, of course, he rides a freaking purple bike. Great job Lego. The Heroes have no printing on their torsos I know printing limits MOCing potential, but I loved the designs on the Winter characters. But they look pretty cool- I still don't like their chestplates not matching with the colour of their helmets (except for Stormer), but I guess I'll get used to it (like Breakout Surge's lime for example- I own the set now, and I love his colour scheme). Nex still is my least favourite of the trio- too much white. Bulk- too much orange and gunmetal, seriosly he has 4 or so pieces in silver. Stringer, like I was suspecting, has a new shoulder armour piece (which looks pretty darn cool), and his guitargun looks great (I knooooow it's not a guitar, but that idea a few pages back was so cool it's going to stay in my headcanon)! I'm not going to say anything about the blue, first I want to figure out the meaning of Front's (shameless ) teasing. Stormer..not much to say. I liked the set before and I like it now, but since it's a just a clearer version of the first pic I can't say more than that. Anyway, I think some of this stuff may be preliminary. Why? Stringer and Stormer had sonic waves/ice-like armour decorations in that web episode (where did those come from if they have no printing on the sets?), and Bulk's gunmetal pieces look unfishined like some of Black Phantom's armour on the first catologue pic we got. But this is probably just wishful thnking... Could you post a clearer pic of the villains trio? Meanwhile, I'll just say that Voltix is cool but he hasn't enough purple (then again, there's Joker to fix that!), Core Hunter somwhow reminds me of a scarab and XT4 rocks (and he's a 9 Euro set! I'm so going to buy at least 2 of him!). Ah, just read that you do not have the catalogue with you. Oh well, I'll wait for better pics in the future.

So do I, I just don't want them to override the brighter ones. 2004 was too drab for my Lego tastes (although it fit well with the whole dystopian theme of the Metru Nui arc), I admit following years were a bit better though.Speaking of new colours, I'd like them to use..hmm let's see: dark blue, dark red, dark green, tan, dark tan, trans purple, any shade of trans blue (Stormer appears to feature cladding in that colour on the shoulders, I hope this is the case). I'd also like to see more of some colours that have been used sparingly: Thornraxx's medium azure, yellow orange (Jetbug had it, but size 6 cladding and the 2.0 Hero torso is all the pieces we've had aside from his headpiece), Green Lantern's bright green, trans yellow (Waspix's wings were the best pieces in that set), trans green (we've seen it only on the 3.0 Heroes badges), trans bright green, trans red, trans bright orange (the colour used on Stringer 1.0's core and Stormer 2.0's right eye). We need more transparent cladding!
-
Metru/dark red for Speeda Demon (sorry, I can't get used to it, it just sounds so silly)? Huh, not a bad idea actually. It certainly is a demonic colour.. And like I once said in a Youtube video, if Stringer does indeed use dark blue I'm definitely going to forgive Lego for their..creative decision for him. I'd like to see these colours used a bit in HF, maybe some dark green too. Brighter colours (bright blue, bright red, lime green, yellow, orange, etc), however, should remain dominant or it will be Bionicle 2004 all over again.

@ Mesonak Agreed. Nex was one of my favourite 2.0 Heroes (I'm not too fond of Nex 3.0, and the 3.0 Heroes in general), and his colour scheme was one of the main reasons- orange, white, gunmetal and green was a very new and creative colour scheme (like this year's Thornraxx), and it was distributed very well. Breakout Nex's colour seems so poorly organized, and that's mainly due to that white torso plate. Good observation about the 8.99 Euro Heroes, but at least Surge's and Evo's torso plates match the colour of their helmet- if you don't agree with the colour distribution, you just have to change around some cladding on the limbs. On Stringer and Nex this is much harder.
-
I agree about Bulk, but Nex? I'm very worried about him- unlike the blurry torso on Bulk his one seems pretty clearly white, just like Stringer's is blue. Yes, they will most likely feature printing, as far Stormer is concerned I was ainly pointing out the printing on his legs and arms. Edit- is this new?
-
Wow, those hi res pictures are excellent, thanks Mesonak! I noticed Stormer seems to have a quite a lot of armour printing- I don't mind that, actually. I really wish we saw more of Nex and Bulk- the thought of them having white torsos is haunting me.

More shots of Voltix, yay. He's one of the summer sets I'm looking forward the most, so it’s a great thing for me. I'm not sure if his legs will have back armour, they always do that in the HF movies. But I guess that his back armour on the torso area is pretty much confirmed (and most likely that applies for Core Hunter and Bulk too, them being fellow 12.99 Euro sets), provided that Lego put into Summer sets have the same attention to details that Winter sets have. Also, it seems that the foot is used to connect Voltix's tubes to the back, like in Splitface and Rocka. Speaking of back armour: new Stormer shot! http://www.majhost.com/gallery/shadow/Randomness/stormerback.png Also, after so many troubles I finally got my small Christmas haul on Monday. Surge looks better than I thought, but like I was planning I made him as tall as a 12,99 Euro set and I like him a lot better that way (I’ll get to post pics tomorrow). I love the new torso armour, although I admit it isn’t as versatile as the 2011 armour. The Zamor gun is quite probably the best action figure launcher weapon Lego has ever done: it is sleek and simple like a Thornax launcher, but actually looks like a gun/cannon like the Midak Skyblaster. And it comes in so many colours, and it is customizable! Breez is excellent. My only qualms were some aspects of the colour layering and her wide shoulders. I fixed those, but even if I didn’t I would still say she is a great set. The new shield piece is absolutely gorgeous. The new katana pieces are very nice, I’m really eager to get my hands in the black/green and black/silver ones as well. Thornraxx is beyond marvelous. Not only does he look beyond awesome (DAT COLOUR SCHEME), he’s also pretty big for a 9 Euro set (one more reason for me to buy at least one more copy of this guy). He blows away every single insectoid figure Lego has ever done- how I wish the Mistika Makuta and Waspix looked this good! I have absolutely nothing to complain about him, and he ranks very highly among my favourite HF sets. Buy him, NOW! Rocka is great. His new helmet is quite badass and I love all the tr. bright green. His bandolier is a bit disappointing; I wish it was more flexible. Still, he looks awesome in hand and he definitely ranks among my top 2012 sets. One more thing: to my great surprise, Italian shops are already selling HF sets among the other 2012 stuff. -which is weird, since (like Bionicle before that) the 2011 HF Winter wave debuted in early March. Hopefully they’ll do the same thing for winter 2013 and far beyond, but I doubt they’re going to stop selling summer stuff in SEPTEMBER. :/

Honestly, I haven't played the game yet but I kind of agree it should have its own thread. How funny I keep imagining Speed Demon in a sort of blue hue-maybe because we haven't had a blue villain since Vapour..Azure, combined with a darker colour like titanium metallic, would be great. Since we pretty much know about Stringer's, I wonder how the other Hero's chest printings will look like. And I wonder if Voltix will have torso printing like Splitface, since he uses the Hero torso armour plate like his schizophrenic friend.
-
Oooh! I thought I was going crazy when I read the title, never thought I would have seen a MOC of my favourite manga/anime here! They look great, you used many ingenious techniques. I thought building Ichigo's hair was impossible, but you proved me wrong. I hope so.
-
Splitface's animation shows him with a Hero Core....huh. And I love that it's confirmed he indeed is half-organic. Awesome.
