Wow, that synopsis is interesting. Black Phantom getting defeated so early and that hand at the end make really wonder on who really is the mastermind behind all this. I wonder if Nebula is going to become a recurring major villain at this point, much like a HF!Teridax. Getting a revamped Von Nebula in 2013 would be cool- I never got his set, as I wasn't too fond of its design, despite it having many cool concepts. A newbuildingstyle!Von Nebula set would potentially be amazing. [/b]

I'm mainly concerned about all those spikes, especially on Core Hunter- then again, Bulk's armour is thick. Now, Stringer x Voltix could work. On Breakout part 1, or its supposed broadcasting: I guess you mean this? There no links there. I guess it is a TV guide of some sort.
-
By that logic, say, Bulk is shipped with Core Hunter, Rocka with BP, and so on.Can't unsee.
-
Toy Fair people ship Nex x Breez.

That's funny, I had the idea of Stormer (not the XL version of course maybe a downsized version of him) using a Furno Bike replica to fight against Speeda Demon the other day. Did Lego read my mind? But please post some proof. The whole thing seems a little hard to believe as of now, not to offend you.

So that cool red city where Bulk and Core Hunter fight is Makuhero City? I thought that was . Either way, that and Mechna are my favourite backgrounds this year.I guess XT4 simply is a single bot gone evil, much like the Fire Villains (minus the whole "NEED MORE POWAH" thing). And I like that this year we're getting many new planets. Makes the HF world feel much bigger and interesting. Thank you, cholie, and Dorek!

Cool video. I guess Stringer's weapon being a guitar is basically disconfirmed, but still- like many people said before, its similarity to one just can't be a coincidence, considering the character that wields it. Voltix was defeated a bit too easily though. I guess this is a shortened version of the fight in order to show off Stringer, since the title is "Stringer" and not "Stringer vs Voltix".

What wghost said. Look at the LOTR minifigs' heads- no way they're not going to be printed in the final sets. This stuff happens all the time at Toy Fair.
-
Like Mesonak said, I think you should skip the 3.0 line- it was pretty good, but in Breakout they really stepped up the game- sets have more variety, both in designs and in colour schemes. Get Witch Doctor, and maybe Fangz, but save the rest of your money. One more thing I noticed- Stringer's shoulder pads have a speaker-like pattern in the core section which matches his helmet. I swear, it's been a while since I didn't see so many cool little details hidden around.
-
I see, thanks. I'm hoping to find him for sale somewhere.Back on the sets, Stringer's shoulder pieces and helmet really look like they're titanium metallic. Also, I just noticed Nex's lines in his chest pattern match the ones on his helmet- excellent touch, I'm liking him more and more- Oh wait. Nex DOES have an hand on his Zamor gun arm. But it's black.

I assume you don't have Thornraxx, do you? The azure pieces don't look out of place at all, trust me. He would look kind of bland with only black+orange. But whatever, it's your opinion. I love Thonraxx a lot and I'm always ready to defend him, but I admit that a silly part of me simply was really anxious to use that Tsukishima reaction pic somewhere. I'm thinking of getting Scorpio- he looks kind of cool, and he has so many nice pieces. Most reviews I read weren't nice about the model itself, however..
-
Agreed. The blue+lime colour scheme looks much better in person. And that is medium azure, not sand green. BTW, that video is pretty hilarious. Yeah, I wish Nex had at least one hand. One more thing I need to add to the last Hero Recon Team set I'll buy. I'm a bit disappointed with the large sets prices, too (provided they do end up being 24.99 Euro and 34.99 Euro). I love them, but the piece count is too low to justify them (Rocka and Scorpio were already on the fence, but it's worse this time).

Actually, BZP already posted their full article. That's why I commented about Voltix's cute little wings. Personally, I hope they are printed. We already have the 2.0 Hero torso and the 5M shell in white anyway, and not all of his plane-like armour pieces seem to be decorated. Remember, also, that the LOTR minifigs' heads aren't printed but have hastily applied stickers over them.
-
Eh, that is probably a prototype. I can't see why they should a new mold for something so unimportant (not to mention aesethically inferior compared to the piece we know). Thank you Dorek, and thank you BZP. Your Toyfair pics are gorgeous as usual! I noticed two of Voltix's 4 lightning pieces are attached to his back, instead of acting as horns like the other 2 do. I don't know if it's an error or they supposed to be like that. Either way, I like the idea- they're like some small wings made of electricity- kinda cute.

It's as if a cute little jumping spider walked into a pool of energized protodermis and came out horribly mutated (and with a massive humanoid body, but those are details). It's going to give me nightmares. In other words, CAN'T WAIT TO GET HIM.

As a huge fan of this year Heroes' chest decorations, I'm very happy with what they came up with the summer quartet and the colours they chose. They avoided the cheap option of using repaints of the winter designs (I was seriously fearing they'd do that), instead each Hero ends up having their very own gorgeous pattern. Nex's design, on whom we weren't sure about, turns out to be very "techy" looking (similar to Evo's, yet different) which is very in-character I think (the "outgoing technology expert" is Nex, right?). And Bulk's looks shiny- I hope it is gold, dark tan just wouldn't look as cool. The sets look the same as before, so I'm not going to add much compared to my previous posts. Just two things, actually: 1)I really want an high res pic of Core Hunter's helmet. 2)Nex has an harpoon on his right shoulder.

Indeed. I was hoping for tr. blue cladding so much.
-
I didn't think of Surge's, that could work. I mentioned Stringer's mainly becuase I'm intrigued of how he would look with that sweet tr. blue.
-
Nice to see somebody who feels the same. I'm sure the torso is titanium metallic, it looks way too dark to be a simple lightning issue. I'm quite fond of that shin style too, I extended it to Rocka and I'm going to do the same with Stringer. I'm keeping Bulk's shins as they are, since I'm very fond of that new armour piece. I'm doing something to Nex's shins too, but I haven't decided which of the two designs I'm going to use. I personally hope those two pieces look good together- I have an idea for a MOC that would make a nice use of Hulk's green torso. I think the combination would look great: that huge chest is ridiculously MANLY as it is, that "six-pack" from the Breakout torso would be the icing on the cake. I guess you want to use Nex's white torso? I'm going to try that, but I also wonder how Stringer’s torso would look.

So the LDD update includes those awesome giant propellor/katana pieces from Ninjago? Huh, awesome. What are they called? I think he's 100% accurate, good job. Personally I really like him, considering he's only half of the focus of the set I think they put a lot of effort into him. And he isn't small- he's just as tall as a 12.99 Euro humanoid (like, say, Breez, Splitface, Bulk, Voltix, etc..).
-
I'm okay with them too- mine is mainly a consistency issue, since they break the pattern the winter Heroes(+Stormer) follow. Maybe I'm a bit too obsessed with this, but I feel Heroes should have at least some things in common (like the printed badges from last year, this year's "Zamor guns" and printed chests, etc..), since they are mass produced robots. Villains all come from different species (except the Fire Villains, I guess), so I'm fine with them being different from eachother. Though I'm really starting to think BP, SD and Voltix belong to the same species, at least the first two I mentioned.
-
Yeah, that's always been my main problem with them. Stringer can be sort of fixed using Core Hunter's torso but...well, you end up losing the sweet sound wave chest pattern, not to mention the MAGIC OF TR. BLUE. Nex and Bulk are pretty much hopeless, however- if you want to mod them like I want, you need to work around the white/gunmetal. I guess you can say I got used to that aspect of their design, but I'm not exactly hot about it.

^^ Gothic lolita...HF... ^^ You need to post that. This topic has lots of potential, great idea to start it. As for me, it was probably a guy I built from 3 Visorak (Suukorak, Boggarak and the brown one whose name I forgot Roporak- thank you Bricklink). He had a weird head which was mainly made by two tr. orange Bohrok eyes, he had Visorak feet as very unstable but oh so pretty and small feet, some sort of wing-like blades made with two jaw pieces, Boggarak's head as a shield..and I don't remember much other than that. He was kind of cool. Edited- I accidentally used present tense verbs in some points of the description.

Yup, there. I has hoping for them to be tr bright green since those are really rare (they appeared in, what, 2 SW sets?) but alas they are not. I'm wondering how Stormer is going to fight SD. The other Heroes, the winter ones at least, had some sort of equipment to fight their respective villain (Breez's rocket boots, Evo's toxic proof armour..). But Stormer seems at disvantage- SD is likely going to be really fast, and for the mission Stormer..gets turned into a heavily armoured giant? Seems weird to me, so I thought of a possible explanation- what if those plane-like things aren't just there for decoration, and actually let him fly at high speeds?
-
I'm confused about the colour, too. What I'm sure about, is that those pieces are in the same colour of his torso decoration. I initially thought about dark tan, but gold wouldn't be bad at all. Still, it puzzles me that they chose to insert a fourth colour in his design, a colour that is used in a grand total of 5 pieces.
