Regarding the Mata Nui drawing Greg something along the lines of "I like it a lot, he drew it just like I was hoping for." Also, one time he said that he knew how MN looked like, so that means that the story team did have a precise idea of his appearance. Therefore, this mecha-esque form got approved by the story team. Think of it- if the drawing wasn't canon, would they allow it to be distributed in a magazine as a poster? I doubt that. Still, I suppose that to clear all doubts someone should ask confirmation from Greg. Shakar

Yeah, I feel the magical atmosphere of 2001...except that this time sets do actually have a decent articulation :P Hmm...call me crazy, but I'm beginning to think that Skrall is good........maybe Strakk could be too....really, to me all 6 seem very ambiguous, except for Vorox who is clearly evil. Megablocks, so that first topic got deleted. Could anyone summarize what it contained? Pleeeeaaaseeeee? Anyway, from what I've read 2009 sounds awesome! I just love the idea of fruit as winter projectile. Mata Nui IS quite different from the way he looked in that leaked video. But still, WHOA. Reminds me of the Iron Giant. Really looks god-like, and the sea where he's standing and the star filled space behind him just help: very primordial looking if you ask me. Shakar EDIT: Found it on S&T! It probably was moved, so that was why the link did not work. Anyway, *Squeals like a fangirl*

Hmm, I don't think Malum is that bad. He looks like the embodiment of fire IMHO, the things he needs are longer arms and legs and better weapons, but I don't think he is that bad. I am really pissed that they changed Atakus's blue swords into green ones and that they removed the limegreen Nuparu claws on Gresh. For the former there is still hope that they change idea, on the second one I fear they'll keep it like that....just look at the Lego.com picture. Otherwise, everything seems good (still not really caring for Fero and Skirmix, however). Shakar

Brothers in Arms 4 is up, guys. Mazeka is sooo badass. Edit: Am I the only one who gets an orc vibe from Tuma? He's muscular, rough looking, hunched, has that spiky sword...I really like how he looks. An orc with four insect like wings and one big sword..nice. Shakar ONE MORE EDIT! NEW PICS OF THE 2009 SETS! TAKE A LOOK BETWEEN PAGES 2-6! http://www.spiele.schreibwarendiele.de/ind...amp;&page=2

No Mata Green...no spiky zamors...I really don't care for the launcher...oh well. Anyway, this picture is ten times better than the other one. Tuma in the leaked one looked fat..but now I see he looks quite muscular in that front pose. What a badass set! Definitely on my want list. Shakar

What happened to the ball joints pieces in Bionicle sets? The quality has been going a bit downhill since 2006, although it was (semi) acceptable. But in 2008, with the introduction of new versions of said pieces things took a turn for the worse. Maybe Lego's idea was reinforcing them (after all the complaints about lime green pieces breaking easily)...I don't know, but the effect was the opposite one: I had to replace many joints in my Phantoka sets because the ease they break is just unbelievable. Not just by removing them and then reattaching them: some joints broke just because the sets fell a few times. Shakar

Indeed, light bley seems to be under the metallic coloured helmets. They were also selling light bley broad brim helmets (I think I bought some of those too). Shakar

If you guys are interested on this subject, I went to Legoland Germany this summer and they were selling dwarves helmets (both winged and non winged) in light bley. I do have a few I bought, more as collection items than anything- actually they're nothing special, the shiny ones from the sets are much better. Shakar

It'd be a great Chistmas gift if it didn't come on January 2009. Still, as we know, Lego's history is about sets coming earlier than their supposed release date...so I'm hoping it comes out halfway through December. Then I could order it from S@H, and it would still arrive before the 25th anyway. 100 Euro for 1601 pieces, including rare and completely new (COWS!) pieces, 8 awesome minifigs (5 of them featuring completely new torsos!). It really it is a bargain! Shakar

So are the new flame/plume pieces like the Dragon Masters plumes? As in, they feature both a "minifig grip" pin and a plume pin? And the Medieval Market is 100 Euro in Europe right? Good! Shakar

Which Castle Sets Do you want for 2009?
Shakar replied to The Rancor's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I chose Village add-ons (following the style of that awesome Medieval Market) , Orc Castle, Elf Castle, and better Battle Packs. Those are the four things that matter the most to me, ranked by importance. Shakar -
Awesome Castle Market? New queens (I'm counting that fleshie one)? New Mermaid? Orc Queen? Green Magical Lightning? Possible Orc Castle? Wow, so much new stuff while I am away. Lego is WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN! Shakar

It is official. Lego does these things on purpose. Now someone go tell it to BZP. Yeah, he is Raanu, Malum's little friend. Shakar

Yup, in a comic Matoro told him something along the lines of "Even if your voice is different I can recognize that tone, Makuta!". Sorry if I wasn't clear, I meant that since Maxilos's voice is connected to its body (being spiritless) when inside him Teridax sounded like him. To avoid further confusion, note that I always refer Teridax as "he" and "his" ( him being living and all), while I refer to Maxilos as an object, so I use "it" and "its". Shakar

D'oh, forgot Ignika's spirit. And yes, Mata Nui is most likely an exception to the "spirit=power" rule. And the Makuta thing actually is in line with the rule. So, if two Iden wearing Toa, A being a Toa of Fire and B being a Toa of Ice, switched the bodies, the result would be a A resulting into a Toa with Fire powers inside an Ice Toa's body and B resulting into a Toa with Ice powers inside a Fire Toa's body. The voices seem to be connected with the spirit too, since Teridax talking as the Universe still had Lee Tockar XD Teridax's voice. The Maxilos thing is an exception: since it's a robot, it was spiritless, so its powers and voice are connected to its body. That explain why Teridax in its body had its voice could use its energy power and . Shakar

NOOOO! That means that Miserix is gonna die too! He was cool! Then again, Mutran was cooler, and he got killed too. Man, he was one awesome character. On Mata Nui, it's cool how he can make a body for himself (possessing somebody would've been a bit weird for a good guy). I just hope that the set will not be a Toa Ignika recolur. So, as of now, Teridax has MN's godly powers and MN has Ignika's Life powers? I thought the powers you have were connected to your spirit, not to your body (Teridax-Maxilos had almost all 42 Kraata powers and the Shadow element). Shakar

Most likely not. As Jinzo said, what's so bad about the catalogue pics? They feature the same poses, same everything, cept that they're actually decent. Really, I pity those BZPers who think that the megablocking bad ones BZP gives them are the only pictures available on the web (yanno, there are got to be some kiddies who don't know Brickshelf exists). The Forum Leaders, or whataver they're called, are getting really absurd. Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilllllly.

Yeah, we shoudn't forget Gads. And when you think of it, Mata blue has never left us: its spirit has always lived trough the +o pins! :D

Looking at the first pic of Tarix (which was clearer), it's quite obvious that the light blue on the blades is transparent. I'm talking about the blue on the hands and on the feet, which is a different, lighter shade compared to the Metru blue on the rest of the body. To be fair, Mata blue DID return on 2008...but on Jetrax, which I don't consider a figure as it's mostly made of Technic, non Bionicle pieces. Shakar
-
Combat Crawler X2 Look, it has Mata red Twin Cutters. Instead of producing Metru red ones, Lego just reused the Exo Force ones. Still, some Mata colours ARE returning..tan, Mata blue, hopefully Mata green....whohoo! Shakar EDIT: Haven't noticed the mask...hmm. The other pieces look Metru red though.

That was a different shade.
