Ikir and Terak look like awesome little sets. Melum seems pretty good too (apparently it's a bird? And so the designers keep homaging the Tahu/Kopaka rivalry). The others sound less interesting but I might be proven wrong. The new head looks OK, I hope it has enough connection points. Onua looks great but too much gold, wish the torso was black with gold and purple decorations like in 2015. Tahu looks OK, I feel he looks less powerful than his 2015 form did but a more slender frame might be better suited for him to combine with Ikir. Kopaka looks awesome once again, Ice sets might win me over this time as well. I keep correcting mistakes, keyboard messed up a bit.

I'm rather amused to read so many people claiming Lewa's new mask is way more similar to the original Miru than his 2015 mask. To me, it's even more different.

Katana-like swords. It's the same piece Gali uses for her spear. I find it funny Gali/Lewa and Tahu/Kopaka shared weapon pieces in 2015 and it's the same thing again in 2016.

Between Umarak and Kulta, they're really amping up the demonic look on the new villains. While there are some very threatening ones out there, there have been 4 BIONICLE villains I honestly found creepy- Mantax, Vamprah, Kulta and Umarak. I can't wait to see the Beasts, UtD (Umarak the Destroyer) and, eventually Makuta himself (the MoCo is demonic enough already).

In G1 destroying a Legendary Mask like Artakha's MOCr meant releasing its energy, creating havoc. Maybe it's the same here, though I'm not sure how it'd work with Makuta's plans.

Aaaah, sucks. I was really excited for this set and I couldn't wait to get it to reuse its frame for a Titan figure I wanted to build, but I'm reading so many complaints now. I guess it's better for me to rebuild the torso from my pieces and see if I like it (with or without tweaks) And maybe get some of the pieces I wanted off Bricklink.

Ah nice, I haven't ben browsing the TTV since this morning. Neat work. Onua looks cool. Very massive. I can't help but notice all Toa so far (Pohatu can't be seen clearly) have their torso and chest in the same colour. It's not the SW torso, but maybe it is a whole piece after all. Yet that chest is so similar to the Superhero chest piece.

Someone on 4chan somehow sketched/traced Onua, looks quite cool. That weapon looks crazy.

HOLY CRAP those Toa look awesome. Lots of silver, definitely Nuva-inspired. Love the weapons and masks. And no SW torsos, hooray. Umarak looks absolutely terrific, period. One of the most menacing looking BIONICLE villains in my opinions. The Creatures sound ok, I'm not expecting anything groundbreaking, but hopefully they're on par with the Protectors in terms of quality. I just want decent builds and good new parts/recolours. Two arachnids? Grah. Melum isn't a wolf? We'll see. But Akida is a phoenix! At least we got one bird. The Fish and the Mole are ok. Would've liked a crab. One paragraph on the Mask of Control. Does the Umarak set really include it? I thought they'd save it for Summer. Maybe we get a black or titanium metallic version in Umarak the Destroyer? Makuta in his corrupted form in Pohatu's mind wears it and it's clearly meant to directly reference the Kraahkan. Maybe it's gold by default but turns dark when Makuta or Umarak wears it. I'm not sure if Iike the massive goatee it apparently features. But I guess I'll get used to it.

Can I say that I really like the Mask of Control? It's suitable for a villain, but it's not in-your-face villainous like the Skull masks or the Makuta or Shadow Matoran Kanohi. It doesn't even feature stuff like demonic horns, teeth or spikes or fangs or anything- the curved and decorated ram horns can be perfectly seen as a symbol of power rather than outright evil (think an Egyptian God). It looks like it could belong to a regal looking villain or a somewhat menacing hero/antihero, like the Olmak did. Dare to say I like it more than any Kraaahkan version. I do hope the Mask of Ultimate Power follows this same style, despite its "OMINOUS BLACK AND CRIMSON ENERGY FLAMES".

Oh wow, 2016 catalogues coming out early in Italy, AGAIN? Hah. I always think to myself that I should try to peek at them since I'm kinda friends with one of the guys over the semi-official Lego store in Padua, I remember taking an accidental-I-swear look at Invasion from Below wave 2, but we had already gotten the pics at that point..so no.. point. But some sort of conscience gets the better of me and I never dare doing anything.

If they do make C-3PO, I can see the shin shell being reused in Ekimu the Mask Maker. That would match Playtest Anon's descriptions, though those don't seem to be fit with the list we got at this point, except the Ekimu set itself. -
Yeah, Grievous looks like he's a must have for any constraction fan. Even if you don't like his build (and from what I read I think you'd be the first one), those parts are just too good to pass up.

Since the first list we got didn't have names for the Creatures, maybe the Beasts have names in their final version? Or maybe the set names we found are finalized since they were up on thr S@H database (and got removed). I don't know, it seems weird for small sets to have proper names written on their packaging while larger ones don't get anything.

Toa, Kopaka. Even though I have a Lewa avatar because he's still the one I'm the most attached to, Kopaka as a set is just awesome in terms of colours, design (those big shoulders! Those big boots!) and overall look, despite his excessive bulk. Lewa comes a close second. I only got two Protectors, Korgot and Izotor, and the latter ended up being my favourite. Looks like I'm really fond of the Ice guys this time. But Ekimu might very well come out on top once I get his set. Out of the Skull guys, I can't judge properly since I don't have the sets yet, but it's probably going to be Kulta or Basher.

I know many might disagree, but I actually want the Uniters sets to look very different from the Masters, ESPECIALLY as far as their masks go. I really want new designs to draw inspiration from, and we desperately need new masks compatible with the new head that don't look obviously evil, like the Skull masks do. The Toa masks are just too iconic and tied to their wearers, the MoCr is too special for normal characters, and the Protector mask alone doesn't cut it. Same for the weapons, though they're needed to a lesser extent.

^ Careful, I personally don't hate the idea of changing a few characters' genders, but a lot of people in the fandom do.

Argh silly me. I mixed up the O hole of the Toa skull with the axle hole of the brainstalk. Yeah, the halves would stay in place if the design is solid enough. I guess it can work after all. I always wanted to do something like that for a character, not necessarily an evil one, something with a dual theme or someone insane (like Karzahni or Vezon, well yeah they are evil on top of that but you get what I'm saying). -
I just realized it, so far we haven't seen a single instance of a Skull Spider mind controlling someone. I thought we'd get a "Toa gets corrupted" mini plot for sure like we would in G1, but nope. Maybe the upcoming book will feature it?

Well, that is true. And it does seem that each half would be a bit thicker than the average liftarm. There should be a way to make sure the halves don't wobble inside the skull though. -
So could anyone post a Toa wielding a lightsaber? Any Toa and any colour, I'm just curious to see how they go together.
