    Although this gearbox is working well but it will make any thing its connected to less efficient, heavier plus far more can go wrong, I don't see the point of making something more complicated to point of it being almost useless.

    You could try, he will either check into the nearest mental asylum or stare at you with a blank expression, however he will most likely check you bills to make sure they are not counterfeit.

    Cost is going to have to take a back seat on this, there is no point having cheap power when no one can breath and has died, don't forget money is a illusion to make not so clever people work their entire life for nothing while the rich laugh at them, take from greedy people and never feed them. Hydrogen is the future, there is no other way really, we are going to need good gearboxes for electric motors and its down to people like sariel to make them, unless your born rich you have no way to express your talents in a practical way, unless you get some lego that is.

    Yeah its designed to unfixable so you have buy a new one, lego motors from the 70's had repairable wires, those days are long gone, now its all cheap plastic that breaks if you so much as think about repairing it. That don't stop some people, even if you break it then there's apoxy resin. :D

    Sometimes you can make more money by selling cheaper, take photoshop for instance, loads of people would buy it if it were the same price as a game but because its so expensive students and everyone else pirates it instead. being too greedy will net you less profit. Its has to be a fair price for what's on offer, to appeal to more people you can make stuff from an existing set or a combination of sets, one fine example is Nathanael Kuipers 42000 Street Rod made from one set (42000) http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84635

    You should be able to replace the rubber o-ring that most likely has perished by now, its doubtful that the ring can be restored with some lubricant but you never know.     In years to come when petrol gets low and the americans stop invading the middle eastern oil fields all cars will be powered by hydrogen fuel cells with electric motors, these cars will need reliable gear boxes, there is a rumour of a constant variable transmission that can handle the high torque of electrical motors and seamlessly go to any ratio that is controlled by a second small motor.

    Does the s-brick have a soft start/stop function to compensate for high torque xl motors?

    Those two XL motors are capable of making the heavy 41999 go pretty fast, I did this once but never again as the sheer torque bends and grinds axles as the XL's fight the weight of the moc, to get away with doing this you would have to gradually start and gradually stop.

    I've never tested one motor to another but if you manually turn the 9398's wheels it will power the others via the wires, you might have to connect everything via the battery box and switch it off to generate power?

    You can't lock it now jim, we've all waited so long and its so close to the big reveal.

    Maybe using worm gears to precisely move and lock everything into place, along with some kind of spring loaded pushing force, will have to knock something up in LDD and come back later.

    I have done a couple alternates to set 9398 the skid steering robot and honda 3 wheeled bike are fairly simple. (click the pics on my sig to find LDD files) 1 or 2 XL motors, 1 servo and a AAA battery box probably offer the best all round performance and price, the AAA is smaller and lighter with the same power as the AA but has less runtime. Avoid using bevel gears if possible, they slip.
