brunojj1 created this Lego Technic Panzerkampfwagen IV TIGER TANK with Power Functions, and Technicmad posted his Lego Digital Designer (LDD) .lxf Building Instructions on Rebrickable! There are very few MOTORIZED Lego Tanks with FREE INSTRUCTIONS available on the internet. Brunojj1 wrote on his YouTube video description that "Building big scale Lego tanks is my favourite subject. My opinion is this: don`t make real war, stay a kid and play with little sweet Lego military stuff ;-)! "This MOC provides Lego Power Functions, remote control, individual steering of each track, full suspension, 2 XL motors for drive which are supported by 2 M motors and 2 motors for the steering of the turret and the cannon. "If you like it, you can build it too!!! I just have made a complete building instruction of the tank! It took me a few days of very, very tricky work. Back to the original topic -- Brickset has the new 630-3 Orange Brick Separator. It has the new Technic Axle protruding from it. They are available from Shop.Lego.com. You can tell people to "stick it" and then hand them one of these:

@ davidmull: I'm thinking about motorizing my Lego Technic 8081 set too. Which version did you use -- Louskam's or Nuno2500's? Any problems with the pictures they provided?

@ Meatman: Consider that the Lego Technic Challenge contest organizers often could not clearly state the monthly submission DEADLINES without me having to write them AT LEAST THREE TIMES this year. They had dates that did not match, missing dates, etc. Most GOOD MOCs take a considerable amount of parts (i.e., Bricklink orders). It takes time to obtain all of the necessary parts, build it, then submit it on time. Typically, the monthly deadlines only allowed a maximum of 2-1/2 weeks to submit the entry. That simply is not enough time for INTRICATE MOCs like Sheepo's. I personally don't mind AFOLs submitting their MOCs that happen to fit the monthly theme. Heck, there was so much PLAGIARISM going on in 2011 (month after month), it's a relief that a legitimate MOCcer won the prize!

@ Zblj: Thanks for sharing your LDD .lxf file! Maybe the upcoming LDD 5.0 release will have the Unimog's unique items in the LDD Parts Pallette.

@ PeterleB: I checked your file on your Brickshelf folder again -- it's an XML file (not a .lxf file). I don't feel like joining Freefilehosting.net to obtain Alasdair Ryan's file. The "best hoster" could be http://www.MegaUpload.com -- it's free, people don't have to join it to download something, and it can handle HUGE files (up to 20 MB in size). Brickshelf is SLOW to get moderated, and most new folders take ~2 days to get moderated. I like using Flickr, but it can't handle LDD .lxf files.

@ rm8: Your SUV Supercar looks very sophisticated! I'm going to guess that you are building a Mercedes-Benz Gelandewagen -- am I right?

@ Burf2000: The "tethered" Lego Technic offroad vehicles have their battery boxes OUTSIDE of the vehicle, thus leading to lighter weight and greater speed. Outdoors, the sun's powerful light sometimes interferes with the Lego Power Functions infrared (IR) signal. The weight of the electric extension cables is a lot less than the weight of a battery box and PF Receiver. One has to run along with PF-controlled offroaders anyway (to stay within IR signal range).

The two Lego Power Functions buggies are very flexible! I'm glad that the Unimog Portal Axle pieces are useful for MOCs like these. If one had enough parts to build FOUR buggies, they could clamber all over each other by using the four available Power Functions channels! I'm going to build these when the Lego Digital Designer .lxf file is available.

@ PeterleB: Your Brickshelf folder for the 8110 Unimog Trailer is now "public", but when I downloaded your .LXFML file, LDD 4.1.3 could not import it. I tried renaming the file extension, but nothing works. Instead of "Exporting" your LDD file (and creating an .LXFML file), could you post a straight .lxf file on your Brickshelf folder, like you did with your 8110 Snowplow .lxf file? Thanks.

@ VFracingteam: I saw your 5 BIG photos of your Lego Technic Dakar Unimog 4x4 on your Brickshelf gallery, and your two YouTube videos below -- very nice! I don't see a problem with operating your MOCs outdoors -- Zblj, Mahjqa, and many Trial Truck/ Technic Rally folks do so regularly.

I don't know, but Conchas (from TechnicBRICKS) knows....

Your Lego Technic R/C Backhoe is excellent! It's got a nice mix of "studded" and "studless" construction. Great MOC!

I was not aware of The LEGO Exchange Flickr group -- I just sent these to it (Grohl's Trike Rider 8271 alternate and my REAL FLYING Lego Rocket):

[bUMP] Nico71 made this of a Lego Technic Continuously-Variable Transmission (CVT). He wrote that there is "More at http://www.nico71.fr . [it is] Based on modified version of Zblj's Transmission. This CVT enables a variation of the speed (and the torque) from 40rpm to 200 (1/5, 1,1) with constant speed for the motor (200rpm). This device is on the way to be included in a lego car. The two mechanical tachometers show respectively the speed of the motor and the speed of the output."

bymanstudio posted this of his 25 different MOCs he made out of the 4094 Motor Movers set. They use Lego Technic components in their internal structure.
