@ legodac: The Eurobricks Digital Designer Forum's moderator moved it from that forum's topic list because you can only post there if you provide the Lego Digital Designer (LDD) .lxf file also. Since you posted a LDD screen shot, they treated it like a regular photograph and moved your Santa's Rein-Moose to the most-appropriate forum (LEGO Town). The LDD Index Thread says "Any MOCs done in LDD that belong to a specific theme (e.g. Pirates, Star Wars etc) should be posted in that forum." If you provide your LDD .lxf file, you can add it to the MOC LXF Index. Be sure to read the instructions there. Nice Santa MOC, by the way!

How to dismantle Dirt Crusher
DLuders replied to ldcfan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It is unlikely that ldcfan (with only one Eurobricks post, made 5-1/2 years ago) will heed our messages, but this is what he's talking about. The 47871c01 "Electric, RC Racer Steering Assembly with Flexible Superaxles" looks like this: -
1h 2012 models
DLuders replied to JunkstyleGio's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The upcoming 9397 Logging Truck set looks like a Kenworth. Maybe TLG is trying to increase the appeal of Lego Technic in the American market (where it could do SO MUCH BETTER, considering that its got many times the population of Germany where Technic is king). I know that it will be a big seller in the Pacific Northwest, where there are LOTS of logging trucks in the National Forests around here: -
Metal axles for lego
DLuders replied to habit's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Here is what Eezo wrote about his new 4" Linear Actuator: "Hello all, especially Technic fans. I've finally finished my Big 4 inch linear actuator! And its a beauty! All metal construction with axial and thrust bearings. "It has 100mm of travel with inline and offsetted clevis end. Actuating pitch is about 8.5mm at 1.5mm of travel per revolution. The clutchless version is durable with the ability to receive an XL or regular motor in the end mount position. Motors not included. "The optional sidemount plate allows for various gearing ability including Lego's clutch gear. Other external clutching devices could be attached. Easy to change drive shafts in the "X" or flatted style are available. "Both endcaps of main cylinder are tapped for shoulder bolts to be mounted on opposing sides for pivot. "And last but not least, of course metal gears are mountable. Hope you all like it. Available in my store any day now." "Regards, Eezo" -
@ Yannick1988: I like your alternate for the 5571 Model Team "Giant Truck" set; the Kenworth K100 looks quite good at that Lego scale: It's reasonable to charge 15 EUR (~US $19.82) for your "(Instructions) for Set 5571 Giant Truck -step by step instruction to build an alternate model of box 5571 (Kenworth K100) -only parts from the original box are needed. More than 1650 pieces. - High resolution file - http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa466/geronimo7988/LegoMT/5571/5571.jpg ."

MINDSTORMS models anyone?
DLuders replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Well, AndyC posted the LDD .lxf file for the Alpha Rex 2.0 in this Eurobricks post: -
Absolutely, TLG Customer Service will sell them! Go to Shop.Lego.com , click on the "Contact Us" at the bottom of that webpage, then telephone them IF you have a Credit Card. You can order up to 15 different line items IF you have the Lego Element IDs (not the Bricklink part numbers). The parts must be from Lego sets sold within the last five years. I've had good success with this method to obtain parts that are RARE on Bricklink.

MOC TT-S08d
DLuders replied to Stari89's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice Trial Truck! I recognized certain elements from Zblj's LYNX Trial Truck X (which I have built), but am not familiar with Jovel's design elements. Could you describe what aspects you liked from both? -
Jurgen Krooshoop has posted the 45.5-MB PDF Building Instructions for Barman's Lego Technic Avatar "Samson" Helicopter on his Jurgens Technic Corner (JTC). Also available there is a Brickstore XML File, to enable you to make an automated order of needed parts on Bricklink. Download instructions for the XML file are on the JTC webpage. Pictures of the completed model are on Barman's Brickshelf gallery. Thanks to Barman (Barry Bosman), Jurgmeister (Jurgen Krooshoop), & Blakbird (Eric Albrecht) for sharing them -- you make a great team!

On BrickJournal, Joe Meno wrote a nice article about the Lego Cuusoo Minecraft project. Here is the "preliminary model" pictured there:

People substitute Lego Linear Actuators for Lego Pneumatics for more precise control. The tangle of air hoses detracts from the appearance of some MOCs, and the LAs look more closely like hydraulic cylinders.

10197-1: Fire Brigade

Ha! Those old films of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) are really quaint! Do they have vintage firefighting equipment in the Czech Republic? -

On this Eurobricks post, Superkalle said that the 3873 3711 "Technic, Link Tread Chain" pieces would be added to the LDD Parts Pallette on January 17, 2012 (when the DesignByMe mode gets removed). The 4019 "Technic, Gear 16 Tooth (Old Style with Round Holes)" is already in the LDD Parts Pallette. -

DLuders replied to JunkstyleGio's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Europe is in a recession, and Lego Technic sets are most popular in Germany. It could be that TLG does not want to produce elaborate, expensive sets at this time of economic difficulty. The best Technic sets of the year come out in the 2nd Half, anyway.... -
10197-1: Fire Brigade
DLuders replied to EM4CZ's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
@ EM4CZ: If you could edit your original post one more time (by changing "Check This" to "LDD File"), you're done! Your Fire Brigade is very elaborate! If you built this in real Lego bricks, would the vehicle doors roll up? Are there interior details too? -

DLuders replied to EM4CZ's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
@ EM4CZ: Your Brickshelf folder is "Not Yet Public", so it is invisible to everyone except you. It may be several days before it is moderated. You could "Deeplink" your LDD .lxf file by following the easy steps here, so people can access it now. -
LEGO Fallercar consept
DLuders replied to F0NIX's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@ F0NIX: The Vestas van appears in the picture below; it appears to be only 6 studs Wide x 17s Long x ~8s High. The smallest, functional Power Functions car I've seen was the 8183 Track Turbo RC car, which uses the bb396c01 "Electric, Motor RC with Steering Mechanism and Receiving Unit, Dark Bluish Gray Base" (pictured below). It has a built-in Power Functions battery box, Receiver, and steering mechanism but is 8s W x ~21s L x ~7s H. If you used NON-LEGO parts, maybe it's possible to make the Fallercar you want. I recommend using a 9V battery with this adapter to save space and weight: -
GuiliuG/ lego7777777 posted this of "A very complex MOC with front and rear suspensions very similar to real [JCB Fastrac Tractor]. 12-speed gearbox, front steering wheel with functional wheel, AWD, two-speed rear PTO [Power Take-Off], front PTO, disengageable front axle, front and rear pneumatic lift, and two air outputs." It took 80 hours to build, and there are 44 pictures on his Brickshelf gallery.

Technic Pneumatic Beam Engine
DLuders replied to Burf2000's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
[bUMP] (Air) "Blast From the Past" -- Here are two nice Lego Pneumatic Engines (LPEs) by nicjasno (Alex Zorko) -- an inline 4-cylinder and a (Mustang) V8. There are detailed Building Instructions (with Parts Lists) available on the All the Best Bits website. -
9 Cylinder Radial Engine
DLuders replied to gor Ipsa's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well, one could always DRILL OUT the center of this piece: Why stop at 9 cylinders? For added power, one could make 14- , 21- , 35- , and even 42-cylinder Radial Engines with these Lego Samsonite gears and the large Technic Links. Those gears all have ROUND central holes:
