Cool Mod! I also recently bought, build and modified my the 8258. I have done all Han Modifications including the double wheel option. I also plan to implement a third (double wheel) rear axle. This might give me some space to motorize my tip truck construction, what I added (similar to the 8052). ;O) Your Crane is cool - but a littlke bit too long I think. The opening doors is a good add on I will look into it. -
There is a differential between the axles ;O)

To come back to topic, I bought it - opened it the next day and build it. Now it i am caressing it as often as possible ;O)

I build the Mini Car the day before yesterday and the SUV MKI today... :O) Both are perfect. The Mini is very fast and runs nice. The buiding is so much fun as you (me as a beginner in MOCing) can see how how well thought everthing is. Everything fits perfect together - and this packed in an amazing small size. That the suspension is a little short on the SUV does not bother me. But I had wondered that when driving + steering the inner front wheel is flipping. As you can see it in his video (e.g. 1:51) as well, everthging is fine and did not make any mistake. ;O) But this is only cosmetic and stops when the AWD is disabled to RWD. In action is a mini Crawler - very powerful when it comes to obstacles. Too bad - I do not think, that I will keep it as there are still 2 more modells to go - Supercar + MKII SUV. Final words - Madoca go on ! Your vehicles are really great and fun to build (actually these are the first MOC, I build, resp. I spend a lot of mony in parts to build them...) PS: As I am a purist and would not like to replace parts in other colour his models cost me about 90 Euro in parts... so what :O))))

Hi this guy rips me off... ;O) Wonderful Models. Congratulation Madoca! The first Models I ordered Parts for - and I am so loloking forward building them ! I just ordered a lot of parts for the 3 recent Models (except Monster Truck) and now I have order more because the big Black One is perfect. Can anyone tell me which part is the one placed at last step under the bonnet. It is used as cover for the imaginary motor. Used in Picture 87. Is it correct that the wheels are the ones from 8069 - Back wheels. If so I only have to order 2 of them. Oh dear - the last parts I ordered at Lego because it was cheaper than having shipping costs from 3 bricklink stores - to bad that no store has all the parts I want ;O) Thanks a lot

I was born in the early eighties. And guess what - I have taken the 950 set from my moms attic and it is on my shelf again ;O) I came back in 2006 after over 20 years of non-Lego times.

What is wrong with the suspension? Does it hit the body, when driving?

Hi WOW - i very much like it. I will go for the missing parts soon. One question from a beginner. Is the grey suspension the same as the one in 8070 (here it is yellow) or what item i have to order? Are the the parts where the wheels are fixed (dunno the name) the new ones from 42000 ? I cant wait to buid the SUV ;O)))

WOW I love to build it! It is very amazing. Please give us more pictures from the inner structure. What sets do you use for it? I see 8043 and 9398... any more? Perfect model. What about 8263 - I love the snow groomer! Just thinking of bying another one from ebay for parts. 8070 (when modified) 8110 has not been mentioned (damn - now it has been ). And finally! 41999, because this one is perfect out of the Box! I am very angry that 8285 is sooo expensive... ;O(

Hi Egor! Congratulations! I just finished building it. Chassis is modified in black - no red parts on bord (I think this has been a cost factor from TLG - red might be the cheapest coluor and the Chassis can be copied from 9398). When the new blue parts had been coming when building it, it was amazing, whaching it grow. I loved to see how strong and clever it has been designed. The door mechanism ist amazing. The silver parts, the winch... all is perfect. Overall it looks more adult than any other model I have buid so far. If I ever sell my lego, this would be the last to go :o) Now the modding can start... but i think it will be difficult. Nice job! Reagrds from Germany

I am ready with it! Wow this is a nice model. The black chassis looks awsome - it is ver much complete. Now ready standing beside my other models which are all modded it is no difference, looking even better, nearly out of the box. Well done. --- I am looking forward to suggestions for Mods ! I have nons so far, beside the red / black exchange and some more black parts.

Where are your Motors :0) I am thinkink, of the Speed can be modified. This is simple by changing Gears. Has anyone Trude this With the 9398? I have Not read the whole 9398 thread... Changing Gears will make it fastet, but assume, crawling will suffer under this simple Mod.

That is exactly what I have in mind. I already checked against the set-list if I have enough black ones. Exept oly a few 13 beams I have to do dark or light grey I have everything in black. There are several sets inside my sorting boxes, including one of the MOGs, which is a good source for black beams. Does it look good with black chassis? Can you please take some more pictures - e.g. from the bottom... THANKS

And i am still hesitating, if I should order it also. I do not want to buid it yet but i am not sure is the price will be stable or will rise again. I am not sure, if i will find the time to build the crawler. ;O)

As I have recently been in the lego store in Germany I had a chit chat with one of the employees. He told me, that when special sets (like the limited ones) are relaesed, nearly every customer buy 2 of them. One for buiding, one for value. Thats not fair - but I am afraid, thats the market situation. I am sure that the set has not been sold out and everyone bying one, will get it later. When it is sold out it will be even worse with the price. I assume that there are more than 20 000 Lego fans who want this set - especially after that hype.

Thats correct - I am absolutely shocked how the prices went up. Imagine how it would be if tomorrow the message will come that all 20 000 are sold with the backorded ones. I assume then there will be a next price explosion. I do not think, that this is what Lego wants with its products. On the other hand it is a mega push on the image of the brand. PS: Mine is shipped yet :O)
