@NuckEiberg - Thank you for both the website and hope to get them to work. I finally got a grey back ground. @aliencat - Any build should be judged by how cool that build is. Yes I agree as a whole, I wasn't saying the more experienced ones as your self get low scores, I am sure everyone is / does put a lot of thought and work into each build. wasn't trying to offend, just venting a little. I am sorry you took offence. I for one really like your builds. Jody

Alright Bob thank you, I wanted to know what I was doing wrong. I have tried changing the background on the blue render but get white or blue, even after following the steps. Jody.

hmm ok didn't mean to start a whole new discussion here. 1. LDD in my thoughts are they are they same as real Lego, when building. But it also takes time to render a shot, use photoshop or any of these programs to get a quality build. my two cents on this portion. 2. I was mostly upset with the judging of peoples build matched to there skill. I didn't mean a complete newbie receive a 5 for just posting a build, or a master to get a 1 for that matter because he didn't do something correct (which i am not sure how.) I think the judging curve maybe needs some review on how the judging works. I am one of the ones who gets a 3 no matter what I put up, even though I put a spaceship, vehicle or really anything that is needed to help out my scoring. and if thet are being included then does that mean my work is worth 1? I expect the masters to put up awesome builds, they are the ones who are the anchors to the teams be it Mantis, Kawa, Octan... is there a checklist that judges use to determine the points spread? again sorry. Jody.

So I am starting to see a trend here, kinda. It seems that people whom build with real Lego are getting higher scores then those who use real Lego as opposed to LDD, I know it states that it shouldn't matter, is it because they have the bricks available to them? Also I noticed the master builders getting 5's as opposed to a beginner getting a three. This should be the opposite to encourage the ones with little experience to become better, not to leave in discouragement. Are the master's getting judged with more scrutiny, I don't think so. I follow what is needed to get the extra points but it doesn't seem to help.at all. Sorry for the post just discouraged, that's all, I truly enjoy building and playing this game, learning new techniques. Again sorry. Jody.

My submission for [Challenge 2][Cat A] Introducing an Octan Long Range Recon - Stealth recon, single person ship. Once low to the ground or water to avoid detection, the side boosters take over to act live a hovercraft. C & C are welcome. Thank you J.Meyer Octan Employee #53845.2015

Converting LDD to DXF
Jody Meyer replied to BrickCurve's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I just did something like this last night. LDD to LDR then from there you have two options. First look up meshlab, google it, you can export .stl or .obj from clad, open in mesh lab, export from mesh lab to .obj, or .dxf, these become HUGE files, if you have Maya you can also do the same process, or blender. I am trying things to work with Solidworks..like I said I just started this last night and still working things out. -
Thank you all for the feed back. I am no master like some, just an AFOL learning new techniques. Cheers
