Who would have thought that the conflict would come outside of the game, I can see it now book II gets to Kaliphlin, all the Kaliphlinites sit it out to do their own thing while all the rest of the guilds take sides and fight an imaginary civil war of fake kaliphlinites... We could call it the "Imaginary War!" Haha... Actually I have an idea what our conflict could be without having a war. Since there already are a few civil wars in Kaliphlin at the moment, I think we could get away without having another when the story rolls on over to us.

I am out... I had something, then got stung by a ton of bees taking out the garbage... Been too swollen to finish it. But, it was going to dual-purpose as the intro build for Masa and my group story build coming up here in the next week, so you all will see it there. Also, there was no way I could compete with Gideon!!!

I guess this proves that our capital is the mightiest. I hadn't expected to see a building taller than the triumphal arch!!! Excellent build, even if you felt it was rushed, I think you really captured the glory of the Petraea. The cross-section is pretty awesome. Again, your photography is a notch above most other people, even if you were not satisfied. I think you photo tan better than anyone else.

Anyone thinking of bolting? I am staying. Since we will be randomly allotted a side in the Civil War of Nocturnus, some of us will be competing against one another. Although I would think it hilarious of DM ended up fighting against the Drow!!! I hope the "randomizer" takes into account some historical allegiances. Finally, do you all think many people will be coming to the sands?

ZC, are you technically the "core leader" for Nocturnus then? Also, I still think we should have free build points as a side competition for the length of the book to give more incentive to build free builds. Could that be an addition?

I like the presentation a lot. I had the same concern about the woodwork, but I have built similar looking things in the past. Sometimes a quick story post doesn't hurt, and I think you did well here. I would have liked to have seen a little more around the window too. Where is that pink torso from?

Good points, I guess that works with an alternative character. It can also allow for NPC high lords if we need them later on...

There are currently no official challenges, but they are always posted on the story thread that is pinned. The only active mini-challenge is the Master Architect challenge which ends tomorrow (Aug 1st). There will be a few other activities soon I think, but I believe the next official challenges won't start up again until around September. As I said though, we should have a few mini-challenges to tide us over.

Yea.... Badass. That is a sweet, looking forward to your contributions to GoH. Well, if you all need a uniting factor, I guess we could invade Avalonia... of course, if we win, we are not giving it back.

Addendum, Gedren has been here the whole(?) time too, so if he wanted to be on the OOC council right away, I would support that. Also, there are some regular builders who don't lay claim to a territory -- Eryn and NM (I think?) come to mind, so maybe "wealth" should be the determination rather than land. It is more Kaliphlinite after-all.

So many leadership changes! We don't need one. I have a preemptive solution before the anarchy befalls us too. We keep Flagg as our Ceremonial leader and ruler, only bother him every third Tuesday of every three months, and we go about ruling this place as a Noble Council (we should probably call ourselves the Trade Federation, muhahaha) as we have been doing. Any member of Kaliphlin who has shown some interest in guiding the fate of our mighty guild should be allowed to participate in our ruling council - somewhat a parliament with open leadership. Only stipulation is that only one character from each builder may have a place on the council -- so that would mean I couldn't put Paulos, Petera, and Dugal all on the council (it also means that every builder only gets one vote). The in character location of the meeting would be in a great parliament building built in Petraea. Finally, out of character decisions could be made by a smaller group of long standing builders (no offense new people, you all can join in too, a bit later) Si is still our commander, but when he is not around Robuko, Kai, Masa, Kayne, DM, and myself could run the show, administratively. It seems that one of us are always around. I may be forgetting some people here, maybe Eryn if she wants? (I would add in Gideon and Nightstalker as well, but I was going for people who have been here about a year or more at first, although both are capable builders and key members of our guild) There are many others, but this was just the people I was thinking were "always" around. Again almost everything would be decided by the larger group, other than small out of character things. if we decide to do this... Paulos is calling the first meeting of the Noble Council to investigate this "Desert Kings" thing... Just in case it is more than just a football team. (I have a guild challenge in mind here, not good since I am already on the hook for another one)

I think The Desert Kings is Lost Vega's football (AKA Soccer) team, not sure though...

OF course you can... We are just not sure how to post you yet, as we thought you were exiled by the current leader, but this could make it interesting, a true Cinderella story. We will give you a starting rate of 2:1 for. (Again, I am not sure I am writing these in the right order... As in every 2 gold placed on you, you can win 1 back.)

11. Traitor to the guild, going to Nocturnus! hahaha. Wait, can Trian really get credit for 6, that is an out of character measure! I picture that whoever became ruler of Avalonia was going to become the character leader and you were going to run the guild anyway? Unless of course, you were one in the same. You are going to ruin our odds in Lost Vega... Also, Captain Beerbeard / Zakon: 1)Owns his own flying disc. 2) Smells wonderful 3) Can fly 4) is an esteemed critic of adult beverages 5) has the color palette of a Picasso 6) is the only assassin that has ever killed anyone 7) has the balls to invade Kaliphlin, even though their armies were invincible. 8) Likes children... to eat 9) built this 10) Clearly would have won challenges 1-6, had he willed it. 11) doesn't need to make his own list. Lost Vega does not officially endorse anyone, but takes bets on everyone as long as it is a fair fight.. or rigged by us.

We can just have it all settled in the arena. Armies cost too much to maintain... and they cause anarchy once the war is over -- see upcoming moc....

I agree, I have a bunch that I want to work my way into a new faction. I have been doing a lot of sorting, and I have some interesting combos of old fright nights that you all will be seeing soon in one of the intro MOCs to Masa and my community story build. (Sorry both of us have been busy lately, we hoped to have it started already...) I am lightly checking the forums, but trying to avoid heavy usage for a few more weeks I think.
