Star Wars Constraction 2017 Discussion and Rumors
Leewan replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Why a missed opportunity ? I actually like the fact that it was used as a purely structural element, it did show that this part wasn't only good for gearboxes. Now, I wouldn't be against a bigger set with a gearbox (which I hope will be Snoke, rather than Kylo Ren ). PS : Or 75530 could be a 2-in-1 set. Like C-3PO and R2-D2, for example. Aren't they still available somewhere ? At least the 2016 sets ? -

Yeah, if he wears the same outfit as in TFA a new Kylo set would be pointless, but I think these four would make a good lineup. You know, two good guys, two bad guys, two old masters, two apprentices... Also, about Rey, a new version could use the female torso shell introduced by Jyn. -

If there are only four sets, I rather think it's going to be Rey, Luke, Kylo Ren and Snoke. On another subject, I always found weird that set 75119 was called Sergeant Jyn Erso. This Entertainment Weekly article tells us why Lego used that name : -

Box size and weight for the TLJ sets are listed on Brickset. Sets 75526 to 75529 seem pretty standard (size and weight very similar to most recent sets), but set 75530's box is the same size and almost same weight as Darth Vader's box. That means it should have between 150 and 200 parts. That also means it's a character (or a creature ?) larger than usual. If what's on Brickset is correct... -

Impressive ! How did you attach the cheese slopes at the end of the mandibles ?

Erm... "Posted February 22, 2010". That topic is seven years old, Veebs, and apparently @Primus hasn't been active since 2014. Either you're super late to the party or you're a time traveler.

Star Wars Constraction 2017 Discussion and Rumors
Leewan replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
The Scout Trooper does have dark bley bones, so they're not completely abandoning it. Anyway, I hope the future sets will give us bones in more (opaque) colours : I was glad to see that Chirrut Îmwe had flesh-coloured parts to make his bare arm, and I think it would be nice to have some bones (not necessarily all of them) that match the colour of the clothes or the skin of some characters. I'm actually planning on ordering four flesh bones for Rey's arms, to replace the black ones. -

The good thing with the Stormtrooper is that it (finally) brings part 90615 in black. The helmet looks great, but I'm really annoyed by the "edge" at the bottom. The speederbike looks good, although it seems a tad too small for the Scout Trooper. I hope it can be removed from its foot. Unless... Boba Fett comes back in TLJ. But yeah, the remaining sets should be from the next movie, and BZP and Brickset seem to confirm this, although nothing is 100% sure until we see some actual pictures. -
Technic 2017 Set Discussion
Leewan replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I rather think it seems medium azure because of the lighting. The panels near the rear of the truck (see here) aren't that strongly lit, and they almost perfectly match the shade of dark azure, whereas the medium azure parts are very slightly greenish. -

We might see the new sets this weekend at the NYTF. The press release says that "Popular characters also appear in buildable figure form with nine new sets." Three of these are Rogue One sets, and we know at least two OT sets. That means there are still four unknown sets. I doubt they will show any TLJ-related sets this soon (assuming there will be TLJ Constraction sets this year), but I hope the Stormtrooper Commander and the Scout Trooper will be shown. -

Have you seen this gif ? We can see the XL motor, below the cab, and what seems to be a L4 engine below the hood. -

Oh, yes, I thought you were talking about the new add-ons. But you're right, it's nice to see the new thigh shell in new colours. With the Stormtrooper, we could also expect it in white. Then build a new gun yourself, perhaps something with two spring-loaded launchers side to side. -

Haha, I don't think you're the only one. The speeder bike is definitely the most interesting part of the set (or at least the more promising, since we don't know how it will look like). Two regular troopers in the same wave could indeed be boring, but I feel they couldn't pass on the Stormtrooper. It's an iconic design, so I understand why they made one. Three ? Chirrut has one in white, and Baze has two in light bley, so what's the third colour ? Well, I guess it could be worse. I mean, I don't mind the head, actually (beside his expression maybe). I really like the way his armor is built, and he looks very good, from every angle. I don't have Chirrut Îmwe, but I think Baze is the best set of the wave. The only issue I have with him is the length of the tube, which kinda limits the poses with the gun. -

Oh, well, guess that makes my Scout Trooper MOC pointless. I don't know where these prices come from, but I've seen them listed at 30 and 60€ on a dutch site. The other SW Constraction sets were at 30€ too, so I think the Stormtrooper will rather cost 25€ / 25$ / 20£ (so the same price as the previous sets), and the Scout Trooper with Speederbike will be between 50 and 60€. -

His hair is long, but not as long as in the movie, because of the armor : According to Brickset, there will be six more sets this year. It could be six Ep. VIII sets, but it could be as well three Ep. VIII sets and three sets for other characters (like characters from the previous movies, Clone Wars, or Rebels), with three extra Ep. VIII sets in January 2018. The question is which characters from the upcoming movie could we expect ? I can think of Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker, and Kylo Ren and Rey, if they have new outfits. There's also a fifth set I can think of, but this is quite spoilery so : Alternatively, a Rebels wave could be interesting, at least to bring the classic Imperial Stormtrooper in CCBS form. It would also give them the opportunity to make a Darth Maul set. I, for one, would really like to see Sabine and Hera as Constraction sets. -
review Review : 75121 Imperial Death Trooper
Leewan replied to Leewan's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Krennic's outfit is very bland, I doubt he would make a much more interesting set than a Death Trooper. Plus, he feels way less menacing than the DTs. I understand your point of view about generic troopers, but I'd pick a Death Trooper over Orson Krennic any day, yet I really liked Krennic's character in the movie.- 22 replies

review Review : 75121 Imperial Death Trooper
Leewan replied to Leewan's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Oh, okay, thank you ! "You're too sloooow, Kopaka." True, K-2SO's head is magnificent. There's so much detailing, even at the "neck", it's incredible. Is it because they have a special build, or simply because of their looks ? I have the feeling that people who aren't into constraction tend to prefer those sets, which are built quite differently compared to the usual constraction sets.- 22 replies

General Part Discussion
Leewan replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I've received sets 75523 Scarif Shoretrooper and 75525 Baze Malbus today, and they have a few recoloured Technic parts that might be useful. The Shoretrooper has parts 18654 and 6536 in tan, and Baze Malbus has parts 22961 and 33229 in red, part 99021 in dark brown, part 60483 in dark tan and part 62462 in gunmetal. Here's a pic of the inventory of each set :- 5,506 replies

Since the new sets are out in Europe, I've bought the Shoretrooper (which is actually called Scarif Stormtrooper on the french version of the s@h) and Baze Malbus. IIRC, she only wears it on -
Here's a link for the full-size picture (at least it's the biggest version I could find) : It's Santahu ! And according to a comment I saw on Facebook, the text on Ekimu's cape says"Thank you". Ekimu's mask is strange, it looks like a blend of the Masks of Creation and Control. That with the Vahi... perhaps it's a preview of what 2017 could have been.
