Heroica RPG - Quest #28: The Breakthrough
Jebediahs replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
OoC: Yeah, I should have just double posted. "A fine shot indeed. I'm curious that it seems losing an eye has perhaps positively affected his perception of depth." Nur chuckled before continuing. "Garments you say? Do ye know where I might get my cloak mended?" "I had planned on paying a visit to Swisshopper Cloaks and Fineries but got sidetracked with this wonderful event. Do ye happen to know if Swisshopper can help me or if there's a better tailor here in Eubric?" -

"No thank you. I don't require any payment. Congratulations." Nur took back the die. As the the rockling had ignored him, Nur decided to walk among the crowd to pick up on any juicy conversations and hopefully find something to eat. -
I don't see what you mean. The SP+1 is obviously a magical aura or a tough skin spell produced by the ring. It's not a waste of an item because the stat is always active even though the ability is not. It's up to the player to decide whether or not to use it. If it doesn't work out for them, oh well. There have been many recent examples of when the ability would be useful. Could use it for those times when cowards players choose to do nothing instead of attacking. From the description you could use the ability, state your desired action (consume potion, attack, etc.) then the QM tells you what the result of the action would be. Player can decide to continue with action or choose another. EX. If facing a KO and the fight is near completion, a player could use the ability to see if they'd be hit by the next attack or if they should do nothing. -_- Unless this is incorrect, the item's ability and use seem obvious to me.

"Well if you really think it'll help him..." Still puzzled, Nur shrugged and quickly sought out Docken. He handed him his loaded die before the next round of the competition began. -

En Sabah Nur looked quizzically at Boomingham. He pulled out his die. "You mean this? It's just something I picked up from a corpse. How did you know that I have it and why would I give it to Docken? Does it do something special?" -
Hah hah hah B&P. My comment had little to do with the items you've created recently. Some are innovative and are similar to ones in my compiled list of possible loot. My comment was more for when you went out of your way to purchase an item that dropped from my quest and you didn't know how to use despite the clear description and further clarification from other players. I don't know if English isn't your first language or if you skim while reading but either way you don't read things thoroghly as evidenced by your current questmates asking if you even read before commenting. But my biggest problem with you is what's already been mentioned. The amount of unnecessary out of character comments and excessive quoting you do in quest completely interfere with the readability and interrupt the flow of quests. I did think jumping off the stairs was dumb but then I thought it was funny when you wanted to attack from the back row in your first quest. So it's back and forth with me. Sometimes you do something cool like create a great picture for an item/weapon in the treasury that had none thus gaining reputation with Jeb but then you quickly do something to lose the reputation earned like hurrying a QM along when a quest has barey started just so you can sign up for another quest. Also I like how the Steel-plated Quiver works only for arrows. If it was ranged then it'd work for the Nimbus Broom which is weird.

"Welp, that's it for me." The mage grinned and nodded to the orc before going off to find Haldor, in search of a heal. EDIT: Nur almost bumped into the rockling (in the Wetnose picture). "Enjoying the competition? I haven't seen many rocklings in my travels. Is the rockling community well established here in Eubric? -
In my next quest I plan on having items non-suitable for Alfs and Johons.

Everytime I see Costy's Nagure, I think of Ludo from the Labyrinth heh heh.

"I am in as well. Let us help Docken get one of those fancy hats by taking out some of the lesser skilled contestants. We don't need you unneccesarily risking an injury to your string hand on archers you'd beat easily with your good eye closed." Nur hands over 20 gold for the entry fee. -

En Sabah Nur ducked into a corner away from the party and took stock of his inventory. He eyed the Aquamarine Lamp of Summoning. Nur shook it then lifted the spout to eye level. He peered inside and saw nothing. The minor gem adorning the lid refused to be removed. "Hmph. It belonged to that hydromancer, it must do something!" Nur shrugged in defeat, pocketed the lamp and returned to his questmates. -
If there is no predetermined animal (or animal hybrid) players must turn into, I wonder what animal Nur would be? Hmmmmm...

En Saban Nur eerily watched the orc lass leave. "Sem's so soon? It's always about business with you, Docken." He put an arm around the leader's shoulder as they walked down the hall. "Let us check out the archery competition. You're sure to win that fat purse and I'm sure I can find a sap to bet against you." Copper Fox's rogue training was starting to get to the earth mage's head. Instead of progressing forward into a true hero, Nur was slowly traveling back into a greedy bandit. Or was he just an opportunist? -
Shapeshifting + your Bear Claw gloves sound cool to me.

Nur yawned. He'd never enjoyed these missions that required him to stay up all night. The sorcerer also looked the girl up and down but unlike Barty, his look was not one of disgust. "Where might we find you should we require your...services at a later time?" -

While Haldor meditated, En Sabah Nur grinned and threw a shuriken at Rat G from the back row hoping to steal his buddy's target. -

Nur sees an opening and takes the opportunity to slash at Big Rat B from the front row with his Stealth Dagger. -
Weeelllll if Xander had stuck to the plan he'd still be conscious so it's not De'kra's fault.

En Sabah Nur reached the room and was shocked by the number of rats circling Docken yet not advancing upon him. "I thought this establishment prided itself on cleanliness? Let's see if I can wash things up with a water spell from the back row." Nur unleashed his spell at Rat E. -

En Sabah Nur had becomed annoyed by the bug-like creature's slow speech pattern and their alien appearance made him uncomfortable but he had struggled to not let it show. Thankful for the interruption, he quickly made his way towards the sound. -
So what? The worms ate the gems and took on their mineral properties they didn't turn into angelic worm, demonic worm etc.

Done. Hurt a little when I had to answer I wouldn't be purchasing anything in the next three months.

That's a good amount for ether cost. Will keep players from spamming it and using it on every player in every battle.
