QM Note: The Archivist only mimics players' SHIELD rolls when a player rolls DAMAGE against him. It does not apply to free hits. If it did then he'd have been doing Knifk's Demon Within this entire time. Drops: 60 gold, Needlessly Large Rod, 100 gold, Lens of Speed Reading QM Note: Successful attacks against The Archivist have a 1 in 3 chance of being deflected to a random enemy. Vengeance Wraith - Unintelligible whispers from multiple voices. Special III: Vocal Rupture - Emits a focused hideous screech that damages the player’s vocal chords, sealing them for 3 rounds at the cost of 5 ether. Drops: Nothing Passive - Drains ether from each party member at the end of each round in an amount related to the round number. Ex. Passive: Reminiscence - 50/50 chance when targeted the spirit briefly remembers its former life causing it to strike a random non-Orc enemy for 20 damage. QM Note: Specials determined by die roll. Enemy will receive double damage from light attacks. Special II: Cull the Elves - All elves on the battlefield are gathered and become petrified for the remainder of the battle unless remedied. Race is affected by Trickster’s Masks. Drops: Drops 10 gold. QM Note: Specials determined by die roll. Akkaba Paladin (Human) *Immunities: Darkness, Scroll Spells* - Bangs shield with his weapon. Type Humanoid Level: 20 Defense: 15 Health: 160/250 Ether: 7/13 Special I: Lay on Hands - Heals comrade with lowest health for 30 health at the cost of 1 ether. Special II: Righteous Smite - A powerful beam of energy strikes a target for 20 damage at the cost of 5 ether. Target and the players before and after him in party order of actions are blinded the next round. Special III: Brief Moment of Silence - Silences target for one round and regains 2 ether. Drops: 100 gold, Remedy QM Note: Akkaba Paladins’ fervor causes them to be immune to spell scrolls and darkness spells. CAUTION!: Akkaba Paladins are subject to minor artificial intelligence. On odd rounds the QM will select the special that screws the party the most. Otherwise specials alternate in order from last special used in an even round. Akkaba Cleric (Human) *Immunity: Scroll Spells* - Bangs shield with her weapon. Type Humanoid *Badly Poisoned* Level: 13 Defense: 5 Health: 42/216 Ether: 25/30 Special I: Wisdom - Increases random enemy member’s level by one at the cost of 5 ether. Special II: Pontificate - Converts party member to their way of thinking. Player is hexed for the next round at the cost of 5 ether. Hexed player will deal a free hit to the party at the beginning of the next round. Special III: Akkaba's Miracle - Heals all comrades for 10 health and grants them the blessed effect for the next two rounds at the cost of 5 ether. Drops: 50 gold, Phoenix Essence QM Note: The magic of spell scrolls is too weak to affect the cleric. Specials alternate. Akkaba Zealot (Elf) *Touched by Akkaba* - Frozen with mouth agape. Type Humanoid *Petrified* Level: 30 Health: 63/150 Defense: 0 Ether: 10/10 Special I: Insane Fervor - Cuts himself multiple times to show Akkaba he’d do anything for his blessing. Enemy is encouraged for the next round at the cost of 10 health and 1 ether. Special II: Pontificate - Converts party member to their way of thinking. Player is hexed for the next round at the cost of 5 ether. Special III: Survival of the Fittest - The zealot seeks to eliminate the competition for Akkaba’s favor. Attacks a random comrade for 15 damage at no ether loss. As Akkaba was betrayed himself, he looks poorly upon such an action so drains half of the zealot’s remaining health. Drops: 30 gold, Potion QM Note: Zealots are ‘touched’ by Akkaba. Each strike against them has a 50/50 chance to apply the Mark of Akkaba to a player. The Mark of Akkaba reduces player's health by half at the end of the next round unless remedied. Specials determined by die roll. Roll of Shield: Loyalty - Protects the orcs from damage for the next round. Receives damage the orcs would have taken. Party Leader, choose the order of actions. All of you, choose your targets and the Row you and your controlled character want to fight in. Also mention if you want to try to flee, heal, or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking. Check your stats, as usual. Trickster's Masks can be donned/removed in the same turn as your normal action. Currently two characters are wearing a mask: Thorm(Gender-Human), 'Smyth(Gender-Elf) -
I don't know. Still waiting for swils' or PL's or 2nd PL's choice of Thorm's action. You'll probably be exiting the Unlimited Quest to pursue a new quest before quest 35 is done.

Singerson pulls out a blank scroll and takes notes. Thormana transfers life from the Paladin to Hound and gets a solid hit on him with her totem. The Paladin's defense offers him some much needed protection. Thormana the Greedy used up all the good rolls for the round because the Maa'ri do terribly. The Cleric charges the back row and clips Ranger while evading Rogue's attack. Hound snaps at Echo but the spirit floats out of reach. The enemies steadily chip away at the Party's health. The three ghosts assault the Party in unison and do a little damage. The Wraith rises high in the air and attempts to suck 10 ether from the heroes. En Sabah Nur surrounded his stealth dagger with raw ether and went after the archer. Bits of stone floated within the aura of the spellblade as he attacked. He then sent some of the surrounding rock towards his target. Nur laughed at Sylph's response to Johon's taunts. He sized up his opponent and again concluded that among his peers, he had the best chance of avoiding the archer's devastating bow attack. Again Nur targeted Brobric Marksman with an earth spell twice from the back row. -

Hoh collapses while Thormana falls back into a defensive position. Her swings keep the cleric at bay and she manages to inflict poison upon the armored healer. The paladin brings down the (un)holy light of Akkaba upon Elgar bringing him to 1 health. Arasmyth's gem enhanced weapon keeps the wraith from draining any lifeforce from the mage. The Archivist throws a lazy swipe at Nihai while the remaining Orc spirit finishes Elgar. With Ad-Hoh down, the enemy Mage remains unoccupied so she fires a destructive bolt of magic into the blue robed elf, downing the Party's leader. The Wraith flies high and wails as it would have sucked 9 ether from the heroes. The delayed effect of the Paladin's spell activates washing the field with an even more brilliant light. Thormana is blinded for a round. Unable to see, she faces the enemy alone for only a moment before the Maa'ri orcs enter the fray. But will even they be enough to win this conflict? OoC: I've been doing whatever row you're in when your second action is conducted is the row you take damage from for the free hit. I recall being told hastened heroes don't take two free hits (in one round worth of free hits dealt) but that recollection is fuzzy and I could just be doing it wrong. I figure your PC is moving faster, not the enemy. Ranger stops and picks up a cannister. Its marking appears to be an appariton of some sort surrounded by a red circle with a line struck through it diagonally. "I don't know what this is but put it on your knives. You dip your paws in there while I coat my arrows." The Maa'ri comply before making their way down the hall to meet with the Party. -

There was not much room to maneuver if a battle were to ensue and these elves have the high ground and more experience in fighting in this type of environment. He disliked dealing with elves, not because he didn't agree with them, only that they all looked the same to him. Nur had lost sight of the boys and the Party needed to move along. He didn't like the thought of more patrollers in the area than this bunch as they'd slow the group down for sure. "Forgive me, I need to take something to calm my stomach. Instead of nerfing the damage calculations you could have the slayer weakened for 1-3 rounds after using SHIELD or stunned for a round or have the class immune to status effects (positive and/or negative) all together. -

After avoiding numerous patrols, the Maa'ri find themselves at the sewer exit. "Well, at least she escaped." Hound and Ranger turn in time to see a figure rushing out from the sewer behind them into the market area. The orcs quickly follow and see her heading toward the Apothecarium. He does manage to bring T'wan close to death. Enraged, her sister mage brings down the light on Hoh and blinds those standing next to him. The Archivist sees an opening and clocks Nihai before standing aside looking smug. The Wraith swipes at Arasmyth as Alpha goes for Ad-Hoh. The hexed paladin sets his sights on T'wan Ti and knocks her out. The Wraith flies high and wails as it sucks 6 ether from the heroes. Only a couple of rounds left before backup arrives. Hexes a random enemy for three rounds. “See the face of Akkaba, see his true visage...” Shameful Secrets - This song reminds all combatants of a shameful secret they hold (like hitting a boy in the head in the sewer) . 50% chance heroes have their level halved for one round and 50% chance enemies have their level halved for one round. “Let your secrets out I say! Let them see the light of day!” Sewer Slide - It seems that Singerson might have entered through the sewers as well. All heroes are hastened but also poisoned for one round. “Sliding down the sewer luge is fun...but dirty.” Bridge Guardian - A familiar song about a giggling guardian. All enemies are magically burned for 5 damage regardless of SP. “Giggle giggle giggle, all she does is giggle as you fall in a pit and are burned for a bit.” Righteous Reverb - The song reverberates off the walls, vibrating the heroes. All heroes get the immune to physical damage effect (physical based free hits included) for three rounds but take double damage from magic based attacks (magical based free hits included). "Caaanaaanaaan yoooouuuuuuuu feeeeeeeeeeeeelllll theeeeeeeeeeeeeee viiiiiiiiibrrrrrraaaaaaatiiioooooooonnnnnsssssssss?!" Party Leader, choose the order of actions. Nur winked his left eye to jut out a foothold for Nuitan on the right side of the destroyed bridge. At the very least it'd help stabilize the bridge a bit in the wind. He set his new walking stick against a tree. "Sylph, I believe it is working. Keep at it!" En Sabah Nur squinted at the tree nearby the broken bridge. With his right hand behind his back, he discretely cast a spell on the tree. Working the incantation with his fingers as he mumbled, he hoped to use the water absorbed by the tree to bend it enough for the boys to get a firm grasp and pull themselves to safety. -

Arasmyth tries to continue with his spell casting but finds he's out of ether. He shrugs and swings his stick at the ghost instead. Ad-Hoh cracks open an ether core and lets the effervescent contents restore his ether in full. With eyes too blurred to fire a bolt, Elgar grabs a potion, pulls out the cork with his teeth and blindly throws it at Echo. The Archivist tries to attack Knifk but only ends up getting damaged himself. The wraith and Alpha are not able to penetrate Singerson's song. The Paladin smiles as he pelts his teammate. She grins as well then hits Elgar. Maybe there's some sort of sick relationship between those two...T'wan Ti comes to the aid of her sister and nails Knifk with a bolt of magic. Thanks to Singerson's song, the blast is amplified. Knifk drops his sword and shield then drops to his knees. After a brief silence, T'wan Ti slowly approaches and pokes him. "Is it dead?" Suddenly the sand green brute lashes out with his fist landing directly under the mage's chin. He collapses but not before sending the woman flying. Once again the Wraith flies high and wails but this time it sucks 5 ether from the heroes. The Party's immunity is gone for good. What ever are they going to do? The battle continues. Let them see the light of day!” Sewer Slide - It seems that Singerson might have entered through the sewers as well. All heroes are hastened but also poisoned for one round. “Sliding down the sewer luge is fun...but dirty.” Bridge Guardian - A familiar song about a giggling guardian. Tinkerer - These inventors prefer making contributions to their community as opposed to combat. * Additional Health: +10 * Weapons: Hammers, Maces, Handcannons, Throwing. * Job Traits: Mechanical Expertise - Allows the tinkerer to repair or alter various machinery encountered. Grants the ability to use Schematics. Tamper - The tinkerer is encouraged versus mechanical enemies. Tune Up - 50/50 chance targeted mechanical enemy becomes enamored with the tinkerer. * Battle Style: Inventive - Tinkerers build gadgetry to aid their party. 1. SHIELD: Makeshift Turret - The tinkerer hastily builds a turret that hits all enemies with strength equal to the tinkerer’s weapon power multiplied by two then added to her level before it falls apart (WP:9 x 2 + Lvl 30= 48 damage to all enemies). No parts retrieved. 2. SUNDER STRIKE/GREATER SCAVENGE: Hits target with strength equal to the tinkerer’s weapon power multiplied by two then added to her level (WPx2+LVL). The hit applies the fragile effect on the target for three rounds. Optionally, the tinkerer can spend a turn looking for and finding random parts in the amount equal to the tinkerer’s weapon power multiplied by two then added to level then divided by three rounded up (i.e. (WP:9 x 2 + LVL30 )/3 =16 random parts: 14 Du-Hinklies,1 Thinga-majigger, 1 k-NUT). 3. STRIKE/SCAVENGE: The tinkerer attacks the target with strength equal to her weapon power added to her level. Optionally, the tinkerer can spend a turn looking for and finding random parts in the amount equal to the tinkerer’s weapon power added to her level then divided by three rounded up (i.e. (WP:9 + LVL30)/3 =13 random parts: 2 Du-Hinklies, 11 k-NUTs). 4. FLASHBANG/ LESSER SCAVENGE: The tinkerer throws a bomb that blinds all targets for the next round. Optionally, the tinkerer can spend a turn looking for and finding random parts in the amount equal to the tinkerer’s weapon power divided by three rounded up (i.e. WP:9 /3 =3 random parts: 2 Du-Hinklies & 1 Thinga-majigger). 5. DAMAGE/NO SCAVENGE: The tinkerer is struck by her opponent’s damage. Optionally, the tinkerer finds no spare parts. 6. SPECIAL DAMAGE/NO SCAVENGE: The tinkerer is struck by her opponent’s special skill. Optionally, the tinkerer finds no spare parts. Tinkerers, make use of schematics and parts. Schematics can drop randomly from quests and all future mechanical enemies could drop some kind of part. Sample Parts: k-NUTs, Arcspanners, Bolts, Du-Hinklies Thinga-majiggers, Etc. A schematic will tell what parts are needed to create an item. Sample Schematics: Schematic: Lesser Tonic Dispenser . REQUIRES: 10 k-NUTs, 1 bolt, etc. Builds a Lesser Tonic Dispenser ( Suitable for Tinkerers only ). This construct dispenses 1 tonic/round to the person at the bottom of the order of actions for three rounds. Falls apart at the end of battle. Drops 5 k-NUTs. Schematic: Dreadnaught . REQUIRES: Level 50, 2000 Thinga-majiggers, 15 bolts, 35 nuts etc . Creates a permanent combat pet ( Suitable for Tinkerers only ). Level 40, Health:100, Defense:30. SHIELD: Hit all enemies for 40 damage. CRIT: 80 damage on target. Schematic: Jeeves . REQUIRES: 1000 k-NUTs, Level 50, etc . Creates Jeeves. Jeeves is a permanent construct that allows a Party to sell non-artifacts to Jeeves at normal marketplace prices during quests. Tinkerer does not receive any gold from these transactions. Schematic: Scope . REQUIRES: 3 Du-Hinklies, 30 k-NUTs, etc . Creates a scope that upon use can be permanently attached to a bow, xbow or handcannon. Scope adds a permanent +5 damage to attacks. Schematic: Static Shield Spike. REQUIRES: 60 bolts, k-NUTs, Du-Hinkli, etc . Creates a shield spike that can be permanently added to a shield. Upon receiving a free hit, the shield spike emits lightning damage to all enemies in an amount equal to the shield’s SP. Ability does not stack with Counter-strike Gloves or Gloves of Counter-striking. Schematic: Counterweight . REQUIRES: 150 bolts, 35 k-NUTs etc . Creates a counterweight. Counterweight attaches permanently to a melee weapon providing hastened effect to physical attacks on odd rounds only. Can not be applied to gemmed weapons. Schematic: Wind Generator . REQUIRES: 70 Du-Hinklies, 2 Bolts, etc . Creates a tiny wind blowing construct that makes Party’s attacks do wind damage ( Suitable for Tinkerer’s only ). Falls apart after one battle. Drops 10 Du-Hinklies. Schematic: Collapsible Telescope . REQUIRES: 15 Bolts, etc . Creates a Telescope that falls apart (consumed) after one use. ETC . ******* Botanist - These animists get stronger as the battle progresses. * Additional Health: +10 * Weapons: Staves. * Job Traits: Plant Affinity - Sometimes the trees can point you in the right direction (magic compass). Symbiosis - Botanists can not attack physically and must rely on their plant familiar. Botanist experiences damage pet receives. Path Finding - The Botanist moves faster through brush. He receives half damage and the hastened effect when traveling through forests and jungles. * Battle Style: Momentum - Botanists’ pets grow stronger the more time they’re allowed to take root. 1. SHIELD: Spore Explosion - The botanist commands his pet to unleash toxic spores. All enemies suffer damage in an amount equal to the strength of the botanist’s weapon power added to level then multiplied by the round number. The effect continues to damage enemies for three rounds (i.e. ((WP:20 + Lvl 30) x Round 3 = 150 damage), ((WP:20 + Lvl 30) x Round 4 = 200 damage), ((WP:20 + Lvl 30) x Round 5 = 250 damage)). Multiple SHIELD rolls refresh the three round timer and do not stack. 2. SAP ATTACK: The botanist commands his pet to grasp onto an enemy dealing damage with strength in an amount equal to the botanist’s weapon power multiplied by the round number then added to level. The poisonous sap of the attack also causes the weakened effect (WP:20 x round 4 + Lvl 30 = 110 damage + weakened effect). 3. ATTACK: The botanist commands his pet to attack the target with strength equal to his weapon power added to his level (e.g. WP 20 + level 30 = 50 damage). 4. DELAYED SPROUT BOMB: The botanist instructs his pet to emit a sproutling. The sproutling travels to the target and explodes at the beginning of the next round dealing damage to target with strength equal to the botanist’s level. 5. DAMAGE: The botanist is struck by his target’s damage. 6. SPECIAL DAMAGE: The botanist is struck by his opponent’s special skill.
