Nyssa began to tremble and Singerson seemed to be a world away, twirling the Needlessly Large Rod. QM Note: I...can live with this solution. I will have to update later on in the day though. If you want to discuss using the smoke bomb solution versus fighting or murdering the girl, make sure to do so out of earshot of the Maa'ri so they can't prepare themselves for it. If no further discussion is needed, then I will update later on as if the smoke bomb was used.

Nyssa screamed and ran to the Archivist's side. - "Filthy abominations! My father will wipe you all from Olegaia!" She spat before lifting the Archivist slightly in an attempt to make him more comfortable. Ranger sighed and rolled his eyes. "You heroes've suffered loss as we have. Might as well know the truth." As per the advice received earlier, Singerson takes notes. "Originally, we had family members captured by who we thought were followers of Ennoc. It's been our experience that those bastards preach acceptance and the "light" but brutalize orcs in secret. As you can tell, we discovered these nuts worshipped Akkaba, an upstart diety I guess is trying to compete with Ennoc? Who knows but I tracked our family to the first Akkaban outpost. Two days later Rogue, Hound, our leader Warrior, Caster, the Goblin Twinz and I sneaked in to free hostages but found them to have been moved to another location. Unfortunately for us, getting out wasn't as easy as getting in. All of a sudden an army of those Akkaban pigs were upon us when it was supposed to have been lightly guarded. I don't know if as an orc I have trouble distinguishing human characteristics but every member of that army looked the same." Ranger shrugged as his mutt laid on its belly. "Our magic expert covered us with an impressive display of power, swallowing a hundred of them into the earth. The stress of it all must've been too much for him because the old codger had a heart attack on the spot!" He looked at Arasmyth. "Guess spellcasting should be left to the young!" Ranger laughed as Rogue retrieved her dagger. "We lost our demolitionist next. We'd found some strange kind of magic training facility slash supplies compound. We had one chance for the goblin to rig the whole place to blow but the remote detonator malfunctioned so he had to blow it all up manually. BOOM!" Rogue frowned as Singerson looked on visibly disturbed. "Our engineer died building a 'Final Solution' device as he called it. I still don't fully understand what happened to him." - "It *cough* was one of our most faithful who sabotaged his device!" "Wow, enough." Ranger takes an arrow from his quiver and casually walks over to the Archivist. He pushes Nyssa out of the way, lifts the Archivist's mask then shoves the arrow upward through the bottom of the man's chin. "During a recon mission we discovered that these bastards had killed our kin. With no one left to save we focused on revenge. During that same quest we found plans of how to reach this city of Nahrees. They detailed the route of the rotating portal entrance and exit points. Warrior declared a new mission: find out who led the Akkaba and take him out. Again, we had trouble getting out of that quest." Miraculously, the Archivist was still alive and managed a gurgling laugh despite the arrow through his head. Blood flowed from every orafice. "To his credit *gurgle*gurgle* your leader defeated over two-hundred of our guards to cover your escape. We eventually brought him down." Rogue had had enough. She took two of her daggers and jammed them into the Archivist's ears. "On our first visit we learned He-Who-Is-Closest-To-Akkaba had a daughter so we contacted Heroica to help us capture her. Now heroes, will you let us have our revenge and let us kill Nyssa or will you fight us to the death? We have nothing to live for but this." With their Party Leader dead and the option to kill yet another innocent child presented to them, What will the Party do?

Thormana falls back to bring Ranger back into the fight. He takes advantage of his full life and finishes the Archivist. Hound assaults the Paladin who in turn begins to panic. Target and the players before and after him in party order of actions are blinded the next round. Special III: Brief Moment of Silence - Silences target for one round and regains 2 ether. Drops: 100 gold, Remedy QM Note: Akkaba Paladins’ fervor causes them to be immune to spell scrolls and darkness spells. CAUTION!: Akkaba Paladins are subject to minor artificial intelligence. On odd rounds the QM will select the special that screws the party the most. Otherwise specials alternate in order from last special used in an even round. Akkaba Zealot (Elf) *Touched by Akkaba* - Frozen with mouth agape. Type Humanoid *Petrified* Level: 30 Health: 36/150 Defense: 0 Ether: 10/10 Special I: Insane Fervor - Cuts himself multiple times to show Akkaba he’d do anything for his blessing. Enemy is encouraged for the next round at the cost of 10 health and 1 ether. Special II: Pontificate - Converts party member to their way of thinking. Player is hexed for the next round at the cost of 5 ether. Special III: Survival of the Fittest - The zealot seeks to eliminate the competition for Akkaba’s favor. Attacks a random comrade for 15 damage at no ether loss. As Akkaba was betrayed himself, he looks poorly upon such an action so drains half of the zealot’s remaining health. Drops: 30 gold, Potion QM Note: Zealots are ‘touched’ by Akkaba. Each strike against them has a 50/50 chance to apply the Mark of Akkaba to a player. The Mark of Akkaba reduces player's health by half at the end of the next round unless remedied. Specials determined by die roll. Results of Round Twenty-Three of The Archivist's Assault: Thormana Nihai vs. Akkaban Paladin - Damage/Extra Critical Hit ( 9x3+21-15=33 damage) Thormana Nihai vs. Akkaban Paladin - Damage/Meditate ( +1 ether) >Maa'ri Ranger vs. Akkaban Paladin - Damage (20/2=10 damage) Maa'ri Hound vs. Akkaban Paladin - Critical Hit (44-15=29 damage) The end is near. Thormana lands a massive hit on the Paladin then retreats to let her comrades finish their foe. The Paladin manages to get a piece of Ranger before the archer's dog puts him down for good. The heroes turn to the zealot statue and crumble it to dust! THE BATTLE IS VICTORIOUS!! Thormanil gains a third of a level and the remaining Maa'ri gain half a level. The enemies drop 410 gold, Needlessly large rod, Lens of Speed Reading, 3 Remedies, Phoenix Essence and a potion. Singerson comes from behind his hiding place and scoops up the rod. Sorry the description...does not say that at all...whoops.
