  1. QM Note(@Bioniclover): Yes - Singerson bangs incessantly on every weapon in the place. Results of Round Three of the Akkaba Training Session: Knifk vs. Akkaba Melee Trainer - Critical Hit Miss Blinded >Thormanil Nihai vs. Thormanil Nihai - No Healing >Arasmyth RuGard vs. Akkaba Melee Trainer - Special Damage: Dull the Pain (+1 WP Ad-Hoh & Arasmyth, 6-10~=0 damage to Trainer) >Ad-Hoh vs. Akkaba Melee Trainer - Spell Aim (6x2=12 darkness damage) >Elgar Gligin vs. Akkaba Melee Trainer - Damage Hexed (28-10=18 damage) Akkaba Melee Trainer vs. Knifk, Akkaba Melee Trainer - Free Hit (28-10=18 damage) Resfusing to take a respite, the heroes press on. Knifk swings and misses. The trainer grabs a nearby hammer then swings at the Party. His body redirects the blow towards himself. The mages' blindness clears just enough for them to witness the Trainer's form as he attacks himself. Memorizing his movements the mages gain a point of skill with their own blunt weapons. Vision still blurred, Ad-Hoh chucks a spell that grazes his target. The trainer hits himself a final time before the hexed effect wears off. He is now in full control of his actions. The Party can see once more but feel the urge to put their weapons down. - "Let's see what you've remembered from the first lesson, Unarmed Combat." 5. Same. I'm interested in hosting a Heroica RPG School quest or two. Although, I think the frontpage post could benefit from an additional image featuring a few minifigs interacting in a vig or larger scene. Pretty builds & 'figs bring in the crowds and right now the post is mostly text.

"Caaanaaanaaan yoooouuuuuuuu feeeeeeeeeeeeelllll theeeeeeeeeeeeeee viiiiiiiiibrrrrrraaaaaaatiiioooooooonnnnnsssssssss?!" Party Leader, choose the order of actions. Also choose the song Singerson will sing. It will take effect before the round begins. Also, choose Ad-Hoh's action just in case. Knifk, state if you want to sacrifice any additional health for your attacks. All of you, choose your targets and the Row you want to fight in. Also mention if you want to try to flee, heal, or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking. If the trainer is not targeted he will deal a Free Hit in addition to his hastened Free Hit after everyone has acted.
  8. "Aaand awaay we strolll!" Singerson pocketed his key. Starting near the sewers, the Party decides to cut across the city to get to the War Quarter. They pass through a section of the Transient Vendor Area which appears to have a single merchant shop open. They continue their trek which takes them to the Mercantile. "Out of my way! I'm in a hurry!" A gruff individual hollered as he pushed his way passed the group. "Oh dear it's him...From the crowd gossip I've heard while performing in this area, that poor old thing used to be the richest man in the city. The townsfolk think he's a jerk but I think he's simply misunderstood. He's got guts though for showing his face after the accident and all. It seems he..." The Party cleared even more empty merchant stands but again thanks to the wedding of the city's head official, there seemed to be only one left open. "Hey! you gNubs! Get o'er 'ere and check out me wares!" The Heroes from Heroica ignored the Akkaban merchant and continued on their way. At the entrance to the War Quarter, the Maa'ri reappeared. "Who the hell is that? We told you to rescue orcs, not-" "Homer Singerson is my name and singing songs is my-" "I don't give a-!" Rogue brought the end of her knife to her companion's back and whispered in his ear. "I grow tired of your antics. We've yet to find any sign of her and I won't allow you to mess things up." The Hound slowly raised a doggy eyebrow, apparently uninterested. This was definitely a regular occurrence between the two orcs. "What he meant to say is we haven't found any sign of our friends either." Her head twitched as if she heard something in the distance. Hound dropped to his belly and lazily wagged his tail. "Look, we'll check out the main palace looking area of the war quarter while you guys head to the training room. From here on out if you find our friends or evidence of our friends, a weapon, shield, anything, retreat to the marketplace (Mercantile or Transient Vendor Area) and we'll regroup to discuss our next plan of attack. There might be a 50/50 chance of us not being there as we must actively evade patrols. REMEMBER our comrades are a knight, a sage-like wizard, a goblin engineer and a goblin demolitionist. Make haste!" The orcs quickly headed off to the main palace looking thing while the Party reached the training barracks. “In the warrior quarter troops train, trying not to get bashed in the brain. If they learn enough they will gain much fame, when they win in a tourney, showcase or game. They gain much skill, in their training to kill, their next foe, who now weeps with woe.” The Heroes are greeted by a single individual in a room full of training weapons. He is rather pale so his loyalty to Akkaba must be strong. "Ah, new recruits and the bard too! Have ye come to train?" How will the Party respond?
  9. Brought back to full health thanks to their shaman, the Party is ready to continue with their quest along with a new member... The Party: Arasmyth RuGard (played by Kadabra) *Party Leader* Level 13½ Mage Power: 18 Shield Power: 3 Health: 17/17 Ether: 17/17 Gold: 130 Inventory: Sapphire Staff (WP:5, Wind elemental), Robe of the Elven Warlock (SP:3), Scroll of Sealing, Scroll of Blindness, Sapphire, Topaz, Aquamarine, Potions (2), Grand Tonic (2), Tonic, Smoke Bomb, Water Bomb, Trickster's Mask of the Gender Swap Ad-Hoh (played by ADHO15) *Resistant to Magic* Level 17 Evoker Power: 21 Shield Power: 0 Health: 24/24 Ether: 22/22 Gold: 620 Inventory: Rhabdomance Staff (WP:5), Robe of Spell Resistance(Damage from magic based & elemental attacks and specials is halved), Bedroll, Shovel, Holy Bomb, Ice Bomb, Lightning Bomb, Banana, Ether Core, Potion (x3), Rum (x2), Remedy, Tonic (x3), Emerald (Wood), Amethyst (Darkness), Ruby (Fire), Topaz (Lightning), Sapphire (Wind) Borrowed from Elgar, Trickster's Mask of the Elf,Fractured Spectacles(Read the Fine Print - Scrolls that are normally 50/50 now have 2/3 chance of success. I am not without skill as my melodic experienced voice can even mimic a few instruments! I spent some time entertaining the townsfolk here during my search for the item and came up with a few songs. Again forgive me as they'd be much stronger and more efficient if I had my lute to strum!" HOMER SINGERSON HAS JOINED THE PARTY! The bard has 6 songs that can be sung, each usable only once per battle. Akkaba’s Delight - A delightful diddy about Akkaba before he was betrayed. Causes the blessed effect on a random ally for three rounds. “Oh! You doth have a friend in me...” Truth Of Akkaba - Reveals the horrid truth of Akkaba. Hexes a random enemy for three rounds. “See the face of Akkaba, see his true visage...” Shameful Secrets - This song reminds all combatants of a shameful secret they hold (like hitting a boy in the head in the sewer) . 50% chance heroes have their level halved for one round and 50% chance enemies have their level halved for one round. “Let your secrets out I say! Let them see the light of day!” Sewer Slide - It seems that Singerson might have entered through the sewers as well. All heroes are hastened but also poisoned for one round. “Sliding down the sewer luge is fun...but dirty.” Bridge Guardian - A familiar song about a giggling guardian. All enemies are magically burned for 5 damage regardless of SP. “Giggle giggle giggle, all she does is giggle as you fall in a pit and are burned for a bit” Righteous Reverb - The song reverberates off the walls, vibrating the heroes. All heroes get the immune to physical damage effect (physical based free hits included) for three rounds but take double damage from magic based attacks (magical based free hits included). "Caaanaaanaaan yoooouuuuuuuu feeeeeeeeeeeeelllll theeeeeeeeeeeeeee viiiiiiiiibrrrrrraaaaaaatiiioooooooonnnnnsssssssss?!" "While in the vendor area you see, I bumped into a strange man with key. With orc-skin arms he dropped it quick, I picked it up though rather sick. " Singerson frowned while lost in thought. "I wonder what it opens? Hm, let us begin our quest!" It seems the Heroes are back at the sewers with a big eyed mystical companion who conveniently has a spare key. Where will the Party head next? QM Note: Singerson will leave the group once he has acquired the item he is looking for. Singerson CANNOT attack or be attacked by any enemy. You do not have to add him to the order of actions. His song will play immediately before a round commences. Party leader, simply post which song the bard will sing along with the order of actions during battle. If no song is designated, the bard might sing anyways but the songs will have no effect other than your putting a smile (or frown) on your face.
  10. Singerson smiled. “Bard, my gender bending friend! Minstrels have more combat training and I prefer only to make music.” He winked before continuing. “But I am far from useless! I’m Homer Singerson and my songs inspire, enthuse, exhilarate, and can put you in a good mood. I am searching for the items that when combined form a mystical artifact called The Forever Song. One of the items is in this lovely city someplace." The bard put a hand to his chin and smiled even bigger than before. “The heroes of Heroica came to my aid once before as your comrades can attest. We helped each other out, our team was the best! “ His eyes grew even wider. “Perhaps...we can create a new mutually beneficial relationship! I’ll provide your party with motivating tunes until we retrieve the item I seek from the hands of some goons! What do you say?" Will the Party let Singerson tag along? “If my songs will be welcome then I’ve got to sing some!” Singerson continued in his sing songy voice. “Join you I will, songs sing I still! I search for an artifact once again, this place feels like it’s seeped with sin, if you help me find what I seek, I’ll help you for free with songs all week! If you have a map of this place, quarters you’ve already searched we’ll erase and move on to other quarters, to look into these hate filled hoarders.” Singerson laughed to himself, pleased with his rhyme. He had found some friends and just in time. He suddenly cocked his head to the side and looked confused. Now what again, was he supposed to do? “Ah yes, I haven’t forgotten the request of the beautiful barbarian but I can’t seem to remember the words to the song I used before...”

Knifk doubles over and recoils to the back row before dark energy is released to the field of combat. Thormanil calmly approaches the remaining injured slug and puts his weapon through the back of what is probably the creature's neck. THE BATTLE IS VICTORIOUS!! A melodic rhyming song is sung from above. "IIIIIIIII-III-I. I work alone!" Twinkling flickers of blue light surround Thormanil, Ad-Hoh and Arasmyth as they feel their ether begin to restore until it seems like they'll burst with power. Anyway, what brings you to this fine City of Nahrees? Looks like I'm not the only one to discover the secret entrance hidden in Eubric Forest." How will the Party respond?
  12. @QUEST 35: Due to the apparent lack of interest in player participation, I'm losing motivation to continue hosting the quest. This quest should have been done already. If things don't pick up by the end of the week I will cancel the quest.

(4/6*23 rounded up =16 damage received) Elgar vs. The Ground - Ow. (4/6*19 rounded up =13 damage received) The Ether Eye Angeli floats curiously over to Thormanil. Perhaps he senses a potential mate. Not interested in discovering the eye's intentions, Thormanil quickly destroys the thing with his lightning enhanced totem. Proving he can wield the magics of two gems at once, Arasmyth casts a lightning spell as he continues to weave the signs that generate the uplifting wind. A slug leaps from the wall at Knifk who bats it aside with his shield. Unfortunately it lands on Thormanil. The slug wraps around the shaman, squeezing him tight. The additional weight causes him to slowly descend to the 30 stud mark before a mage catches him. Momentarily distracted by his falling comrade, Ad-Hoh swings his staff and misses the lunging slug that head butts him as it reaches the other side of the pit. He begins to lose his whirlwind spell as his remaining ether slips away. The camera zooms in to Arasmyth's widened eyes. Oh no... The blue robed mage attempts to pick up Ad-Hoh's slack but finds he too is out of ether. The swirling winds reduce to a slow gentle breeze. The party briefy float upward a distance of 2 studs before hanging in the air for an instant. The battle savvy ranger decides to take down as many as he can. He loads a bolt and fires the quarrel. The force of the shot splits Wellington in half. Elgar fires two more shots, killing Arasmyth's slug and severely weakening another. Just before the 40th stud mark, the Party falls. Knifk tries to use his shield as a gliding device but is unsuccessful. The heroes try to jam their weapons into the sides of the walls but to no avail. They hit the ground hard. Thormanil less so as he fell from a lower distance. Out of breath and severely bruised, it seems none were spared devastating injuries. Even the slug that rode down with the knight is having a tough time recovering. The heroes must get to their feet quickly as two slugs slither down from above, no longer impaired by the mages' whirlwinds. THE PARTY HAS LANDED AND THE BATTLE CONTINUES! At ground level, the cling effect does absolutely nothing...or does it?
  14. OoC: Correct, you no longer have to target yourself. QM Note: The die roll you receive from your attack will determine how much ether is drained and the row position will determine who it will be drained from. If you fight from the front row Ad-Hoh has his ether drained. If you fight from the back row Arasmyth has his ether drained. The back row offers the protection of receiving half damage from attacks but Arasmyth has a smaller ether pool to work with. The front row causes you to receive full damage but Ad-Hoh has a larger ether pool to work with. Sorry for the complexity and poor word choices. Also apologize for all OoC post but if I don't leave right now for my morning run I won't go later and it'll throw me off all day.

The total distance to be covered is 60 studs. The party travels upwards at 10 studs per round. Each round drains ether from the mages in varying amounts dependent upon their teammates' rolls. Each player will select a mage to float next to. Targetted mage's ether is what the non-mage's die rolls affect. SHIELD = 1 ether drained from targetted mage. CRIT = 2 ether drained from targetted mage. HIT = 3 ether drained from targetted mage. MISS = 4 ether drained from targetted mage. DAMAGE = 5 ether drained from targetted mage. SPECIAL DAMAGE = 6 ether drained from targetted mage. [*]Using an item consumes an ether. If item is used on a non-mage, ether is drained from the mage previously targetted. If no mage was previously targetted (i.e. Round 1), ether is drained from mage listed first in the battle order. [*]Only one mage per round may use a consumable but both may receive an item's benefit from others in one round. [*]Choosing the action of "do nothing" in an attempt not to target a mage will drain 6 ether from both mages. [*]If both mages run out of ether the party will drop. The round number divided by 6 then multiplied by a player's maximum health will equate to how much damage is done. Ex. If the Party drops in round 4, each member will lose health in an amount of (4/6*(maximum health)). [*]Row does not matter. ROW MATTERS. [*]Attacking from the back row drains ether from Arasmyth and attacking from the front row drains ether from Ad-Hoh. [*]Roll used for attack is the same roll used to calculate the amount of ether drained. Ex. Elgar attacks Slug from back row - Shield: Tripleshot, would drain 1 ether from Arasmyth. Party Leader, choose the order of actions. Knifk, state if you want to sacrifice any additional health for your attacks. All of you, choose your targets and the Row you want to fight in. Also mention if you want to try to flee, heal, or cast a magic spell, or if you want to use an item instead of attacking. Any enemy not targeted will Cling to a hero instead of dealing a Free Hit after everyone has acted. Effect causes 1 ether to be drained from mage based on row.
  16. :-D Thx for noticing. I didn't post much before Heroica.

Results of Round Two of the Aerial Lift Challenge: Arasmyth RuGard relies on himself - SHIELD -1 ether from Arasmyth Ad-Hoh uses Item (Self) - Ether Core +Full ether, -1 ether from Ad-Hoh Knifk relies on Ad-Hoh - SHIELD -1 ether from Ad-Hoh Thormanil Nihai uses Item (Arasmyth) - Grand Tonic +15 ether,-1 ether from Arasmyth Elgar Gligin relies on Ad-Hoh - HIT -3 ether from Ad-Hoh Knowing himself better than anyone, Ad-Hoh was able to push himself the previous round. He recognizes his limit and cracks open the ether core. The contents within effervese as the pleasant gases restore Ad-Hoh's ether reserves. He is deducted an ether for maintaining the section of wind propelling him upward. Adapting to the floating sensation, Knifk calmly floats next to the evoker to give his party leader a break. Thormanil pours a refreshing drink into the mouth of Arasmyth while Elgar enjoys the ride. Much more comfortable with the initially bumpy flight, the Party begins to relax as they pass the 20 stud mark. Above the roaring winds only those with elven ears briefly hear a faint sluggish squeak from above. THE FLIGHT CONTINUES! 19. Not everyone has to agree with the preventing free hits strategy. Focus firing on a target is another option.
  20. Nur stared at the quest board. I'm betting that man will pay extra if they save him. His eyes wandered and glimpsed the railing along the upper level of the Hall. He slowly walked up the stairs. The mage made his way to the banister, paused for a moment then jumped. With outstretched arms, his cape fluttered behind him as he returned to the ground floor. He landed hard but quickly recovered. He'd given in to the strange urge to leap and had enjoyed it. "Well, I understand why he did it now." En Sabah Nur grinned.
  21. Players aren't required to listen to the Party Leader. Post the battle order!

The air begins to violently rotate as Ad-Hoh's and Arasmyth's spells collide. The Heroes' feet slowly lift from the ground. Perhaps unused to this form of travel, Elgar and Knifk cling to Arasmyth. He grunts but continues his spell. Thormanil quickly adjusts to his weightlessness and Ad-Hoh has an easier time of things as his load is lighter than his counterpart's. The Party successfully reaches the 10 stud mark but the initial lift off severely taxes their ether reserves. THE FLIGHT CONTINUES! 23. The Penguin: 3 points
  24. QM Note: Party Leader, please post the desired order of actions.
  25. Hah, it seems like fun. I got tired of stunning things. I want to kill something! Do you have to be standing in the front row for the physical damage portion of your SHIELD ability to deal full power? Same here. Good luck with that guys. Poor Flavius (haha). His position provides quite an interesting predicament. I hope he survives.
