Heroica RPG - Quest #132: The Clans Under the Mountain
Jebediahs replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Might the lovely Dumora accompany us as well to...serve as a guide? Unless you know where we can acquire some sort of parchment that charts this elaborate subterranean world." -

Any solution, eh? If golems can be animated so effortlessly with tendrils of dark magic, then it could be surmised that controlling such a horde would be even less challenging while manipulating the element they were created from! "Aye, those Heroicans can be quite formidable..." He took a step back from Thisbeen while Alfred the Seneschal stood by silently as the Party vouched for his behavior. Nur attempted to engage his diplomatic charm. "Yes, we could help you complete your delivery." so that I may have my own GOLEM ARMY! Alfred's head turned slowly towards his master then back towards the dwarfs. -

En Sabah Nur noticed the dwarf female had yet to put her sword away. Despite the tense situation he couldn't contain his curiosity... "Perhaps having satisfied my duties to the Doctor, I can provide a permanent solution to the golem infestation here. Ms. Thisbeen, was the boats' cargo ever recovered? And what are these gemmed items such as the one you are carrying?" Nur was already beginning to forget a knight's proclivity for tact. -

OoC: Ah yes, feel free to assume he always follows me around. I'm trying to use the roleplay of the golem having to carry Nur's shield when it's not actively floating (like in combat) as an excuse as to why Nur doesn't treat him as a true NPC...like not sending him to chase the running figure down the alley while he handled the chest that fell into the water. En Sabah Nur and the Seneschal enter the room first. "Ma'am." The mage nods before making room for the other heroes. -

En Sabah Nur nodded to the dwarf captain before rejoining his team. "Apparently this Ms. Thisbeen is now in our debt as I have just saved her unmentionables from certain doom!" With fists on his hips and arms akimbo, Nur took a wide-legged stance basking in his own "greatness." He'd never truly adopt all that was necessary to be a chivalrous knight but it was fun to pretend. -

"Hm...Oh. Allow me to assist." En Sabah Nur attempts to spend ether for a water spell to bring the chest back onto the dock. He thought it best not to chase the fleeing figure and severely separate the group in this unfamiliar city. -

Nur kept his eyes on the rooftops and cavern ceiling. He couldn't pinpoint exactly when, but he'd developed an everlasting sense of dread when it came to being attacked from above. He made his way towards the dockworkers the deaf dwarf was yelling at and peered down the alleyway before addressing the workers. "Might ye lads be needin' a hand? My squire and I don't appear to be much but we are quite strong." -

"Our quest is just beginning! This place will undoubtedly provide us with many an opportunity to take advantage of your particular skill set." Nur also grins before looking to the docks a moment then all around trying to determine which way was east. -

"Aye, we encountered a welcoming group of rather large leeches inhabiting the waters immediately leading into your city. They were quite fierce. Might ye be able to tell us of what other creatures occur naturally in this expansive underdark part of the world? The information would be quite helpful to know in keeping the Doctor as safe as possible during her visit." -

Nur attempts to take advantage of the spores while they're blue and rest but becomes uneasy when the spore color changes. In this foreign setting, he recognizes the need for diplomacy. "Oh he did, Miss. The good Doctor is a mistress of potion making and these traveling companions, including myself are indeed her protectors as well." -

Nur reached in his satchel for the muffler to cover his face. He was unfamiliar with the customs of this race and did not wish to cause offence so released his hold on the scarf in his bag and diplomatically inhaled deeply. -

OoC: Nur's shield needs to be put back to SP 5 :( "Squire, what did you do to my shield? How did you have time to polis-" Nur squints a moment then rubs his eyes to clear his vision. "Nevermind. Hand me my pouch." En Sabah Nur consumes a Grand Potion, and chases it with a Potion and a Grand Tonic. He takes a moment to measure the mood of the place, watching the faces currently too engrossed in their own tasks to fully notice the visitors and...the golem. -

- " "Nur halts his rowing as the strongwoman falls. "We're so close...Someone grab her before she falls over the edge! I can provide us a brief respite! " En Sabah Nur throws an electrocution bomb. "Hey Burly Beard, here's some of that dwarf ingenuity being put to work. Magic...in a bottle! Astounding!" -

Despite the encouraging shout from the party's true leader, Nur's movements became labored as fatigue crept in. However, the lights of their destination gave him the push he needed to keep rowing. -

Concentrating on keeping the boat steady for his comrades, En Sabah Nur didn't have much time to admire the imposing Gigas but all one needed was a moment to be impressed by its greatness. He might need to revisit summoning magic. The mage continued to row. -

Nur recalls perusing a tome that mentioned the sleeping habits of leeches. Some subterranean species require little to no sleep at all. He couldn't risk it...He yells over to his party leader's skiff. "Tesni! Forget the sleep bomb! I am going to row while their numbers are relatively low! I do have another explosive option in the form of an Electrocution Bomb (Deals 105 lightning-elemental damage and the stunned effect to all opponents when used) for when things get really tough!" En Sabah Nur rows towards Krumpknob. -

"Ah, my thanks. This one seems very potent." The mage paused a moment before continuing diplomatically. "Sailor, if it's not too painful to relive, could you tell me more about the golem incident in Brumpknob? I do admit that my experience with these creations is new and fairly recent but I can't imagine golems being so troublesome unless they were in such large numbers...or made of mythril? I am merely concerned with the the good Doctor's safety as it seems my squire and I could be a liability."
