I'm not a big fan of train, but I do have the High-speed train and I am going to purchase the passenger plane in a few weeks from now. Can a I join?
-
Agreed. Cafe Corner Styled buildings just don't look well with the current City facades, with the exception of the 10184 Town Plan. Plus, the only building with a real interior is the Fire Brigade, and I already own 7945.
-
Plese post a review? I am eager to see how it looks in person!
-
Agreed. It is kind of sad that people in Europe have to pay a premuim over our discounted prices here in the US. The fire station looks like it should be either USD $59.99 USD or $69.99 USD. Maybe even $79.99 USD, if some good pieces were included.

Just in case the pictures get deleted (again! ), I have them backed on my hard drive and I will add them to my Photobucket album if the need arises.
-
Agreed with Jonwil. The new regional plane is fantastic!
-
I kind of feel sad that our buddies in Europe and other locations are getting a way higher price then in the States ($59.99 -- What a steal!).

Well, I meant as in the recycling bins and the Wind turbines, but yes, 2009 was definitely "greener".
-
That passenger plane is awesome! Especially the brick built wings! Reminds me of a CRJ-200! Has anyone noticed that Lego is going green? First they make a partnership with Vestas, then they make a wind turbine transporter, and now pretty much all of the big-ticket sets include green recycling rubbish bins?

Svelte, you are truly scaring me. I don't want them to go out of production before I can get my hands on one!

I think the traveler set will be great- that handbag piece has never been available in a low-cost set, making it difficult to get large quantities of it without resorting to Bricklink. Perfect for our female figs.
-
That building has the worst interior of all the Modular building sets.

I will look for a picture.

Wait people! Don't lose hope in the new airport sets. Wout said this several pages back: I also discovered an image on Brickshelf of the airport with the plane so I edited it to show a key few points. 1. The female's torso. Hair piece isn't new, it is featured in the Camper set. 2. Plane has cabinets on both sides. Wonder what those are for? 3. The plane has the registration number (airplane jargon) "3182" which confirms that the airplane will be included with the airport. One last final note: Wout has posted a few pages back that the green trash can will not be included with the Octan tanker, but instead with the airport.

Hi guys! [and gals! ] In November I will be going to the Lego Retail store in the Downtown Disney marketplace. When I go there I will be purchasing about four or five [large] Pick a Brick cups. Having read the topic a few pages back, I have come to ask: Do any of you have tips as to get the most pieces stuffed in a Pick a Brick cup? I really want to get a good value for my money. Regards, Legoliner Pilot

Your image appears to be pixelated. Just a tip, if you want a clear image, save the file as .png instead of .jpg. The result will be a higher-quality image.

I agree. No, creator sets do not have steering wheels. Well they do, but they are huge and gray. Creator sets that are vehicles usually don't have a cockpit to put a minifigure in, or are not to minifigure scale. I agree with the point that it uses really small wheels and 1x4 arch mudguards. Perhaps it could be the small car?
-
Hmm... Good ideas! I will definitely add another minifigure, and a glass wall. I will also see if I can make a second floor. Thanks for the ideas!
-
If you look through the windshield you can see a round black object, which I presume to be a steering wheel.
-
I don't think that is a tiny turbos set, because the windshield is too big and if you zoom in you can see a place for a minifigure to sit. Also, you can see what appears to be a steering wheel. Maybe what you are describing is a different set?

The ATM piece is from this set Although it looks big it is the perfect sized ATM for a system minifig. Look at my last picture to see a size comparison. I do agree about the CC-styled buildings. The problem is with them is that you have to have more than 1 of them or it will look weird in a town full of facades.

Hi everybody! They other day I was quite bored so I decided to make a bank in the style of 7641 City Corner. Hope you like it! On the outside we have a SNOT-style ATM, roof with 2x4 gold bricks and printed "BANK" sign, and a clear window. The ATM is this piece. Another view of the ATM: On the inside we have another ATM, a wooden desk with computer, panic button (), and money, safe with valuables and suitcases of money on top, and a jewel holder. Close up with the safe. It even has a lock on it. Contents of the safe... Final shot with the Banker minifigure.

Always loving your MOCs, Klaus. Keep up the good work! Did you make that first image with Microsoft Paint?

The real deal breaker for me here is that we won't be getting any new buildings besides an airport and a Fire Station. I can imagine that this will really make AFOLs who's layout is made of sets and no MOCs will be ticked off. Really, I wish TLC went back to the days of Classic Town. There were so many buildings to choose from, and they often came with road plates. Sure, the vehicles were a little unrealistic, but the variety of buildings covered that. Then, in 1995, all that came to a crashing end. 1995 begun the reign of ugly buildings made out of huge columns and windows, with very unrealistic vehicles. Lego rebounded the Town and City line in 1999 with some good sets from Shell and some other sets. But once again, Town and City crashed and burned when in 2001 Jack Stone was introduced. Jack Stone was really a mess, with Playmobil like minifigures, huge parts, and ugly vehicles. Thankfully, after bad sales, Jack Stone was discontinued in 2002. However, Town and City was still filled with emergency themes, except for a few excellent sets such as Main Street, and the old airport (you know, the one that actually had a runway). To increase sales and interest, in 2003 TLC trashed the Town and City theme and introduced World City. It, however, was not much better. The train sets were truly amazing that year, but the rest were either airport or emergency subthemes, except for some minor exceptions. In 2005, World City was discontinued in favor of a new line, City. Again, for the first year [2005] it was full of emergency sets, save for a boat and an excellent advent calender. 2006 saw the release of the Hospital and Airport themes of City. New Radio Controlled Trains were released too. 2006 was a great year in my opinion, with the excellent airport [only quibble I had was the lackluster interior]. In 2007, Lego really hit the spot with the new Transport collection. Sadly, the whole transport collection was removed in 2008. :cry_sad: 2007 also had some great Modular houses/buildings, namely Cafe Corner and Market Street. 2008 was an average year, with the introduction of a new emergency subtheme, Coast Guard. Coast guard is a good emergency theme because it was the first theme to focus on water operations ever since World city. During this time, another Modular/House was introduced, Green Grocer, which was an AFOL favorite. 2009 has been the best year for City yet, with the new farm line and plenty of civilian sets.
