  4. "Glad to be helpin' ye." "So....he's mind-controlling his own people?" Illdria shook her head. "Well...shit. That implies he's doing something corrupt enough even they'd be able to figure it out. I imagine bringing in a trio of vampires, as Melvin tells me, didn't help matters." "If you say so. I'm not here for the lackeys. I want the head of the man in charge after we round up the rest of my crew. If he's head his lieutenants devouring their allies I bet they're not on good terms anymore anyway." "If that's true, then finding this 'Morgan' should be a priority. We'll have to figure out this door along the way." The captain unfolds the maps again. "We're at Cell 2 at the moment. We can only reach the Magpie from the opposite dock, Dock 1. We can sweep the entire floor on our way over there. What do you all think? Do we stick together or split up again?"
  5. "Huh?" Miderun blinked. "Oh. Right. If you say so. You need more guards. Train your people better, this town is completely defenseless if someone competent wants your stuff. Heroica can't always get here quick enough." The young orc collected her things and nodded to her partymates. "I will see you all back at the hall, cendo." She turned, and then began the long trek back to Eubric.
  6. "Oh, she's dead. My father would just love that, though. Maybe not the....'party' bit. Never understood why humans have so many of those." Miderun collected her loot, adding the axe to her rapidly growing collection and stowing the gold and potions.
  7. Miderun swaps the Loincloth of the Ancients for the Lesser Orc Gauntlets, smirking with almost familiarity as the buckles snap snugly over her wrists. "I think my mother used to say something similar..." "...Actually...no, I think it was about the harsh truth of life and the soft lie of death. Both smart lessons, though."
  8. Atramor inhales the spores (coughing slightly in the process) but is taken by surprise at the strange, comfortable atmosphere that results. "Oh...huh. That....ain't so bad." Nice to meet ya'. I assume you're Meladonna. Lovely little shop ya' have here. Don't s'pose ya'd be interested in any surface wares of ours? That's quite a scroll ya've got there." Mythril found! THE QUEST IS SUCCESSFUL!!! Atramor frowns very slightly despite the spores, holding up the small chunk of metal. "I don't seem to see this listed in your wares...how much for this little ore sample?" he questioned, curious as to the owner's reaction.
  9. Doesn't a pun have to be made for that to work? Miderun still should no longer be stunned and should be at full health because of Natural Respite. Also, we didn't get experience. Miderun pulls her bloodied club away as Cole falls off the opposite side of his saddle, looking pleased with herself as she stowed her weapon, walked around the horse, and kicked Cole in the side to see if he was still alive.
  10. Those are basically my thoughts. After two or three Quests you tend to have a decent grasp on what to do and what the players want and how to structure things.
  11. Atramor sneezed loudly. "Uhg, damn. Reminds me of spring in the Low Kingdoms. I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say Nur's got the right idea, this is probably just how mushroom folk have a chat." He wiped his nose and took a closer look at the metals on the counter.
  12. Outside of a rankish burning stench, there doesn't appear to be anything coming out of the holes. Whatever once nested in them seems to have tunneled deeply, but no longer appears to be present. The destroyed electronics appear to be several years old and to be of Tritech make. The party proceeds forward, to find a gaping hole in the floor and a pile of rubble below - along with a small ocean of giant wyrms that fit the profile of the odd nest above them nicely. Just ahead they spot the other party, and are reunited, for the moment. "Good, you're back," greeted Illdria immediately. "I even won't bother asking if you're alright. The Bonies couldn't train their men to hit the broadside of a ship with a blade, much less a handcannon. Numbers is their only advantage. How many of them did you get?" Putting his artisan abilities to good use, Thalion spots a few loose nuts that when removed with the usage of his toolkit scatter onto the floor. The bars fall apart into a neat pile on the floor, and Melvin steps out of the cell, clapping Thalion on the shoudler. "Hah, always knew ye'd be 'round to help us. First with that robot, then the...then the same robot disguised as a man! Erm, not the robot Hybros, Em and I fought alongside...not even sure I would believe some of these tales anymore." Melvin eyed the party that approached. "More?! Well, we need as many as we can I suppose!" The dwarven cook looked sideways at Hybros and Em. "Never doubted the cap'n would show up, but I'll admit I wasn't expecting an army of heroes! That said, I've been practicing that tune ye gave me back in Zylstra - bit more musically-inclined these days, and I'd be happy to help out yer group 'til we're out of here, if you'll have me." Melvin put his gloved hand forward.
  13. "Exactly, which is why we need to destroy these basulsaro. Anything less and we're poor examples, these people can't sit around and wait for others to take their things."
  14. I should no longer be stunned. Miderun peeled her face out of the dirt, brushing the dust and looking even more annoyed as she charged down Sean Cole with the others in the front row. "They need to be able to defend themselves. If it's this, well, peasy, they should be able to take care of it themselves, no need to cart heroes out here. Not that I'm complaining," she added, preparing a vicious swing.
  15. "Ah yes, the warden from Zylstra! Could say the same of you, I'm afraid, Em. Ah well, don't need two eyes to shoot straight...erm, yes, I suppose ye could, but this cell isn't particularly deep, and I'm, well, ah, standing right here."
  16. "Hah, nice to see you too Hybros. Nice wings, ye know, you look a bit like those little bat fellows flapping around Zylstra these days..." The bars squeaked slightly as Hybros pushed them, but didn't seem to move a significant amount. "Well, they weren't tripping over their own feet like they usually do. I think the vampires have something to do with it." "The what?" "Yup. Vampires. There's three of the little bloodsuckers running about, shuffling the Bonies around like they were sheep like they were damn shepherds! Erm, really pale shepherds that feast on blood. It was one of them who put these bars here. Not a clue what they have to do with eachother, I'm afraid, but...well, none of this adds up. It looked like you'd expect for the first day or so. Soldiers running about and patrolling, everything ye'd expect from the Bonies. Then...these vampires, silence from the guards, and they didn't even bother feeding me! That, my friends, is just cruel."
  17. Funny, the reason I know that is because Quest 114 was supposed to be the The Tale of the Leviathan (in which the heroes ended up killing the very same monster) but Sandy mentioned it had already been established as an archdemon.
  18. It is in fact the archdemon of Sloth.
  19. '<Heh, 'companion' he sez like he knows what I want. If I knew anything about this place beyond what I could see I'd be just pleased as a peach to share.>' Erik expends one ether to fireball the door, which does not open. Hoke flies around the fort a second time to once again finds it difficult to spot anything in the darkness. '<You're not talking to me, I'm talking to you,>' replied the cat, still trailing along the party. Guts leads the way to the question-marked room. A pile of smashed electronics is piled up against the walls, which are now covered in a thick, murky sludge and riddled with four of five enormous holes, rather like a nest of some sort. It's a fairly short walk, and luckily the heroes run into nothing. As they approach the cell, shrouded in darkness, the low mutterings of its sole occupant became more and more apparent. Illdria narrowed her eyes, then lightened up considerably upon seeing who lied within. "Melvin!" "Eh? Cap'n? Heroes? Orrik's eyebrows, I shoulda figured you'd get in here eventually!" The dwarf pressed his face up to the prison bars. "And I think I've seen all of ye around in some way or another. Usually fighting enemies on the ship, or...enemies in the caves, or enemies IN the ship. Well, just means ye've got experience." "Well, that's one." Illdria let out a small sigh of relief. "But I don't see a key around here...or even a lock, for that matter." "It ain't even a door! They shuffled me in and magicked these bars in place. The old cell bars were falling apart. This place is a damn mess, cap'n. And the Bonies are even dumber than usual!"

    Star Wars

No, but you can counter by saying there are millions of piles of people who prefer the OT in comparison and add in the fact that they're probably kind of being influenced by the way Disney is doing Star Wars...IE, focusing on the OT and the ST (sequel trilogy?) and leaving the PT for the most part in the past.
  21. Atramor downed his Milk and crumpled the carton into a tiny sphere as the party unloaded onto the dock, nodding to the skiff's captain as he went off, leaving the party alone. He looked left and right down the boardwalk, seeming impressed. "Reminds me a bit of Dreida....with rock instead of sand. And dwarves instead of humans. And an underground lake insteada the sea. And probably ale instead of rum," added Atramor a tad regretfully. "Damn. Well, I s'pose we oughta take a look 'round, shop sounds as good a place as any."
  22. The 'room' was in fact open, with no walls save the cave the grotto had been carved into. A pier lay before them, and beyond it, the Magpie; but it was lashed to the opposite dock, across the water. Illdria wiped the blood off her boots and frowned, unfurling her map and handing it to Hybros. "We're directly underneath where we were. That would put us at Dock 2. Unfortunately, we can't very well reach my ship from here, unless you want to fly over and solo whatever's guarding it. We made quite the racket, too." '<Heh. Break it? You must think this one of those flimsy, insecure eight letter combination locks with an obvious magical presence behind it.>' Omen licked his paw. '<Whoever built this thing has paranoia like your dragon has scales.>'
