'The Guild of Invision needs the heroes of Heroica to go pick up some herbs. But can they defeat the apothecary and his seasoned years of haggling?'
-
Basically my thoughts as well. The designated newbie (No offense, S&C and Adam ) quests are always somewhat simple and straightforward, but they usually give some of the best chances for getting a foundation on roleplaying and getting a grasp of the rules.
-
Nice look for Hybros, JimB, and I have the same thoughts. Black Knight is an awesome class, and I had a look set out too, but it just didn't fit. Maybe on my second character.
-
That's how I've always assumed it's worked anyway. I hope we'll be able to get the upgrade in the future.
-
Lifestealer itself is nearly a copy of the Sapper. Deal with that it might be released again.
-
Agreed. I've been waiting for more Hollow Blade stuff ever since I had to trade mine away.
-
Should my stats (power, health, ether) be increased as well? It's fair to me if it lasts for only a battle, but obviously I'm going to be biased. Your call. Atramor swallowed the Remedy at once, grinning as the fear ebbed away, and swung Ratsbane furiously towards Loren in return, gritting his teeth, the Bomb XX's fiery explosion frying the Lions in the background. To his satisfaction, the Rogue leader stumbled into the back row, and felt his own bubbling rage grant him strength. Turning, he took a stab at Sir Lamorak, from the front row.

My Special Mirror copies the enemy's special skill, as I'm a Witch.. So Loren should be Afraid as well, and I guess I get an extra level. I guess for fairness it should last until the end of the battle, rather than me actually gaining a level of experience? Also, Hexed only lasts for one round, but due to a lack of being targetted, I think the remaining Rogue Lion Commander should get a free hit on a random enemy. Atramor hisses slightly as Loren lunges at him furiously, causing him to back up. "Gah...Tarn, can you use Helbaerand for a round? You can use your Remedy on me without losing a turn, and I think you deal double damage to XX with the weapon anyway...he should probably be targeted, he's got Septrine. Arthur, try and put Chaos Beast A to sleep again, from the back row. Cronk, you've got twice the opportunity to take one of 'em out. Nyx, you wanna get Loren? He's in the back row, he can only deal half damage to you, but you can deal full to him. Luke, heal up Knyghton. "

Now that it's mentioned, I've managed to destroy one of my sand green Fantasty Era orc arms trying to get it out of its socket - hasn't happened before or since with any other type of arm, but I don't think I've tried it with any orcs besides that one.
-
"Arthur, try puttin' Chaos Beast C to sleep from the back row again."
-
That's QM-speak for yes.
-
Oh, right. Jeez, that's like the 4th Hex this battle. "Let's hope Tarn gets another Frenzy, I'm pretty sure it'll take out all these damn pikemen."
-
Yeah, the tags are awesome. Thanks, admins, and Sandy for creating this game in the first place. It's really taken off - I'm pretty sure this discussion topic is the longest thread on Eurobricks too. I just want to get ahold of that Scroll of Sunder Armor.
-
"It won't do a damn thing to us, there's no point in wastin' the opportunity."
-
"Oh, but it's too dangerous and destructive, we'll all have mental breakdowns if you use it! Ahh, let's see these bastards sizzle. Luke, could ya' heal me while you've got a moment?" Since it was clarified, my health should be 8, and Rogue Lion Pikeman A should be Hexed.

Amazing models. Each one is so unique, and the figs are a simple, but nice touch to add to them. There are so many nice piece usages and techniques that I won't even try to count them. The color choices are excellent, and I love the sparing, but effective use of chrome. My favorites would have to be the 3 Wheeler, the Surfer, and the last 3 listed, I'm a sucker for the retro and hot rod stuff.
-
I think Zepher assumed that I would Hex the first opponent in the battle order, but I'm not sure if that's how it works or not. I think Witch is the only advanced class with healing capabilities but a Shield designed only for offense.
-
Atramor smirked as he was fully healed, but it only widened as he saw blood splattering the walls, courtesy of his allies. Blackenord's wretched howl as Nyx fried him with a burst of lightning, Tarn's roar as he slashed open the stomachs of the remaining Commanders, the clink of gold as De'kra mugged the final. But most satisfying of all was the metallic slam of Alexandre's shield to the ground. They could run - or they could effectively cripple the Lion's head. "What say we have a little fun, eh, mates?" No matter their response, the witch took care to step on Thothwick's motionless form as he pushed his way through the crowd of Pikemen - making straight for Sir Loren from the front row. The armor he had on was able to ward off most blows, he knew that much - but all it took was the slightest slip of Ratsbane to start sapping the life out of him. "Sarick, Alexandre's Sentinel won't cover you and you'll get torn apart by all the free hits if you come in here. Be wary." Does XX have Nikolai too? He seems to be following him. Or is it just that he doesn't want the emperor out of his sight?
-
"Like I said Sarick, we're in no immediate danger, you should try and back up Arthur and Cronk. Your choice, though."
-
Atramor would probably be a rat. Irony.
-
I think if the quest was as short as you'd anticipated, it would've seemed like too much loot. But for the time spent in the quest, it was a balanced amount, in my mind. I thought the ending was interesting, personally, though it was a bit rushed. I think if more time would've been spent interacting with the characters, it would've carried more weight, but that's attributed more to the lack of roleplaying, and railroading them into conversations (Zepher ) would've taken away from the freeform feeling they had when not fighting. I enjoyed reading along, myself.
-
I liked it as well. It was a lengthy quest, but the battles and loot made up for a hundredfold, and the sets were some of the best I've seen in Heroica so far.
-
Fixed. This is the most intense battle ever. And honestly, even the system itself could be used in single quests with larger parties.
-
I thought attacks on a dead enemy were automatically transferred to the first one in the enemy's battle order. Ah well, but he and Blackenord are probably gonna fall this round anyway. "Okay...Sarick, I actually think you should continue moving east, to back up Cronk and Arthur. We have a Smoke Bomb, and we can retreat into the entrance hall when we need to. Don't worry about it, it's still gonna be a few rounds before we have to stand and fight 'em. All of you in Emeraldo's wing, I think you should stay there and finish them all up, we're in no immediate danger right now. Arthur, I think you should try and use your Scroll of Sleep on Chaos Beast C from the back row, and go first in the battle order to take a free hit from him if necessary, you have more than enough health right now."
-
Atramor spat in the eye of the Rogue Lion as Ratsbane was deflected, and a blade driven through his side. He fell in to the back row, quickly attempting to heal himself. "Luke, patch up Tarn, if ya' could. Tarn, ya' should probably take a break from Blackenord, a hit from him even from the back row would knock out instantly. Knyghton, Alexandre, Tarn, I suggest you pile on Commander D, Commander B won't get a free hit unless ya'll are seriously unlucky, since you'll automatically target him once D is killed. Nyx, De'kra, I think ya'll be able to finish the red-eyed freak this round, aye?"
