  1. i hate it, absolutely hated it. :-P the generic human is dressed in orange. the army builder mech is in orange. do you know how hard it is to get orange helmet? i tried bricklink and it's bloody expensive. you know what's a great color? tan! now that's a great military color. anyway, right now i have white for the airforce and orange for the army. the red human minifig is sort of the odd one. i'll take pictures of my human forces one day...maybe when i'm motivated... l2k is right. the blue hair guy is the leader. you can read it in the profile.

No its not. Its a completely different mech. not every new mecha is a modification of somthing else. -l2k- have you seen the picture? it's the same sans some minor modification.
  3. umm, okay. thats actually old news. all countries (only two actually) in north america have the same release dates. just like how most of europe (except for UK) have the same too. so when someone say they were available in the US they also meant canada.
  4. i dont actually own any of the magnets but from description (from some of the ebayers) it seems the magnets are glued to the inside of the torso and the legs. the legs are also glued to the torso. visually they are no different compared to a normal minifig except for the fact that the legs are glued to the torso. you probably cant remove the glue because you will melt the plastic too with any kind of industrial thinner. that's a very very minor issue (about not being able to separate the legs and torso) with minifig collectors. if you are extremely skilled with a blade you might be able to cut the magnets out. *wacko* if you are extremely patient you can also slowly scrape the excess glue until you get a visually clean minifig (on the inside). but the effort is probably not worth it - probably easier just ebay or bricklink for a few more $$. i think TLG should seriously come up with minifig packs. save us the trouble and also will stop the gouging! :-D
  5. the most incredible thing(s) about the batman theme are the minifigs!! why only europe?! why?!?! gotta make a trip to the lego store and see if they have any in stock. i guess gylman doesnt need to get the minifigs off of ebay then ;-)

duplo?! you gotta be kidding me. or not. what parts are they from? are they only found in this set? it's way too big!!!
  8. probably taken down while they redesign the site. they added battle machine, blue prints and 3D spin. probably trying to do the same to the devastators.

well, looks like a combination of a six shooter, a sw blaster and a ski. pretty sure it's not a one-piece gun.

cool. i see some really interesting parts: orange mudguards! the large orange parts that form the gate looks joonerized though. cant wait for a review! hurry!
  11. i was thinking lego was gimping its own line. considering that they are actively marketing this line it just seems so odd they decided to kick themselves in the hiney. the set should retail at $30. SV at $50 and sentai at $99. it may change +/- $10 or so. ;-)

if the part doesnt have the color you need, consider painting over it. best done over white bricks. ;-) it's just like tamika modeling! :-D
  13. hmm, i think yoda is simply saying him as an admin meant he will not receive as many votes as non-admins. that's the bias that most people have. if you think both entries are equally good, you tend to go with the underdog. so for him to win any contest he would have to be twice as good to stand a chance. that's my interpretation i could be wrong. *sad* but it's a really small issue and yoda/sarg shouldnt get too hung up on who's right or wrong. i didnt know making custom minifigs take that much time. it's only a few pieces. p.s. i voted for lost viking coz his looked out-of-this-world, and is more elaborate than the other two. i like how he used the control sticks as eyes and the plumes were just right.
  14. going a little off topic here... i think lego just made a terrible mistake by selling the exo-force at the same time as star wars. with batman, star wars AND exo-force competing for our money it's not hard to see which set will take a back seat to the more popular sets. i just tried ebaying and bricklinking for the three new exo-force sets and no one is selling them. on the other hand the two new star wars sets and the batcave are in the top 30 list of EVERY SINGLE country. not only that, but the two star wars sets were like top 1 and 2 and with the US sold out until June (mostly because of the crazy pricing in germany, luxumberg and finland - i bet the fans there are buying from ebayers or bricklinkers). also in direct competition are the new spongebob and avatar (and the lesser creator) sets. right now lego sets are saturating the market and this will have a negative impact on the exo-force line. if exo-force's debut is received too coldly - when the market began to cool down (after the initial rush to buy the new exiting sets/lines) they will be forgotten and relegated to the status of "has-been".
  15. he is getting the 7709 set and i guess he is selling the blue mech.
  16. well at least we know who joseph caesar is. if the box art is only being inked right now i guess this set is not going to come soon. 2007 perhaps? i guess this is still news!
  17. i'm not sure that this set actually supply that many orange parts. from the looks of things it's a few of the 6 x 4 wedges and two 12 x 4. not that many actually but is actually enough to maybe make 1-2 orange stealth hunter or so. still need a few of them 2x2 bricks. :-D
  18. cool. are you going to do a review of 7709 too? i'm really anxious to see that one. if you can do the alternate of 7706 that would be great!
  19. i saw this set in TRU just yesterday. so i would think it should be available in TRU canada too. just check out the nearest shop (unless it's like 10+ miles away). and phoinix, what are you talking about? green is a great color for an exo-force mech! it's not just for castle or viking fans... ;-) i have a planned a design for a female battle mech. just have to build it. but i'm lazy and stretched out until summer. :-D
  20. not always. this time europe (incl uk) have the new exo-force sets while US is still waiting. :-P
  21. class experiments? somehow the picture of someone dropping a lego minifig into a bottle of thinner is visually linked to the words "class experiments"...
  22. Unless you are buying for orange pieces, I think batman sets are better value for money... piece count wise. Hero tank sells for $30 and has 365 pieces (with many long technic bars).
  23. can someone buy one and do a review? :-P i'm not convince if i want to buy this set or "get during a sale." mostly due to the price tag and the unimpressive "fortress."
  24. I finally saw the box art. I think this set will be very popular. We have joker, two-face, cat-woman, penguin, freezer all without cells. The true fans of batman will probably get 2 or even 3 sets to make enough cells for all of them. Even non-batman fans will buy the set. It has 7 minifigs and gothic looking buildings. You can't have a lot of play pretend with a batcave (since when do most batman battle happens in the batcave?), but you can have lots of play pretend with this set (if you don't want the asylum setting you can assume they were in the city and batman is hunting them). well, that's what i think anyway. *sad*
