  1. oh sure, blame me! btw, i didn't get any garage because i dont think they will sell well and i don't like that set or the parts. so you wont see any at my store or in my collection. for resale, i'm just going to stick to SW mfs. i've been burnt on some other sets. you'll see lots of them in my store just waiting for a nibble.
  2. if you can write a cheque, then you should be able to do a bank transfer. what you do is take the BSB/Acct number and go to your bank and deposit the money into my account. problem though is i didn't order any bionicle set. sorry...
  3. which state are you in? i can give you the same deal as hewman. $55 for 2 magnets. interested? you'll need to do a bank deposit/transfer. cash in an envelope is too dangerous.
  4. oh, didn't know that. exactly what i said. probably worded differently. AFOLs should be able to hold carefully and swoosh, but a kid will break that in seconds. also i didn't say it's not a good moc. i said it was but the official model has its own merits. i just want to be clear in case ppl think i am dissing this moc. i'm not.
  5. the moc is nice. though i wouldn't put down lego's official model. for one, some of the parts aren't in production anymore (eg the hinge pieces). secondly, lego models need to be strong enough to withstand kid's play. i.e. must be swooshable. this means no "illegal" methods such as clip-on-clip action, or technic pins as studs, or some of the snot techniques. if you look closely at the construction method, you can see the two long beams are connected to the main frame by only 2 studs. the torque force is too large and they will be prone to breaking off from the frame. the frame is constructed of snot techniques which kids wont be able to follow. the way the handle bars are connected to the frame is too flimsy. not sure why he used these pieces instead of these that's not that i'm saying the moc isn't good. i'm just saying official models have constraints. edit: ops...figured out why the handlebar configuration needs to be like that. umm, could use the headlight brick and perhaps this?
  6. yes, they split orders. yes, they are the same as mfs from sets. yup, good bp but why would you do that though? there's a stormtrooper bp already. :P for much cheaper. don't think you need too many at-st pilot. what are you getting loads of? i need lots of leia and darth maul for moc mfs but the rest of the mfs from those sets are kinda hard to sell according to BL. i gotta rethink my strategy.
  7. crap. i just paid $105 for the monster dino. and they HAD to ship my order this morning too, so i can't call them to cancel and reorder. drat...that alone would have paid for my shipping. i would make an order, but only MM sets are left. i'll wait until SBSP magnet set is available b4 making another order.
  8. imo, hope's centaur is best. shinji-o's a close second. check out shinji-o's warboar, cow and griffin. excellent! going to make some warboars for my troll army! heh...
  9. it's probably because they have very few sets left and didn't want to risk overselling. there's a slight time lag between your ordering and the stock updating. and within this time lag another buyer may think there is still stock and make the purchase when there isn't any more in stock. this actually happens with amazon.com. i bought a sail barge which was delayed and delayed and delayed and eventually cancelled by amazon.com. by forcing you to call, the longer processing time will allow the system to catch up as well as allow for better human control over the process.
  10. eh? didn't know japan was in europe. not sure why they single out japan yet didn't say anything about asia pacific. how about au/nz?
  11. hi hewman. i already put in an order. but i can sell you 2 from my order for the $55 you said. since i made a huge order they should arrive in a week's time. you can pay me when i received them. i think you have my details. if not, i'll send to you when they arrived. p.s. can i debox?
  12. i would love a whole new range of models in the new "tie" scale! i wonder why still no AFOL MOCs of popular ships in that scale! when can we see an x-wing in that scale...
  13. i wouldn't put my money on a 4 mf cockpit MF for $60 unless someone in TLG's pricing department has gone utterly mad. the UCS MF has a 4MF cockpit and see how much it is going for. either that or you are asking for a highly deformed MF if it has a cockpit to fit 4 mf and yet priced for $60. let's be realistic here guys... $60 is going to buy you a slightly elaborated mini-scale MF and not much more. i'm hoping for a cutesy "tie-X in the DS playset" scaled version. hopefully large enough to fit just ONE mf.
  14. nice. though i would say the metal detector piece would make an excellent weed whacker base. just need to add a few detailing pieces.
  15. tyco bricks actually are quite good quality. they withstand yellowing much better than lego bricks. i have several mixed in with lego when i bought some bulk purchases from flea markets, and while lego white bricks/plates were yellowed or scratched, the tyco bricks were still smooth and visible whiter. the only issue is that they are of different size and shape to the lego bricks. tyco plates are 1/2 the thickness of bricks while lego plates are 1/3. tyco bricks are a tad smaller than lego bricks. it's not too visible though. if you look at the bottom of the brick though, you'll see the difference. in any case, i wouldn't recommend mixing the two since it interferes with building. how are you going to moc well, when some plates are 1/2 whiles the rests are 1/3? plus there are issues with mixing the bricks. while you can probably use tyco bricks when you stack them conventionally using the studs but you can't jump studs with the tyco bricks (jump as in putting a 2x2 brick on jumper using the middle cylindrical tube). so in any case, if you want to be good making lego mocs, best to just use lego parts. you need to familiarize yourself with what you can and cannot do with lego parts and introducing "illegal" pieces via customed or foreign brand will confuse you.
  16. take a look at the latest catalog. if it's there, it's good for at least 3 more months. if not, then i recommend buying asap since it's being retired. if your country has a S@H, that's usually the last retail place to sell out. if not, then TRU is usually the last available place to get them.
  17. i think you should complain to customer service. they will send you non-smelling PF pieces and you can then send the foul smelling PF pieces to me.
  18. it's probably a time gap thingy. like how the pirates theme is not retailing in aus/nz now but coming later in 2nd half. most likely sp3 will retail 2nd half in NA and early 2010 in europe? just a thought...
  19. yeah, it's kinda hard to give lego mf shapes. you can use shading to give the "illusion" of shape. here are some pics for inspiration! http://www.bricklink.com/PL/973pb526c01.jpg
  20. newer sets are more life-like. older sets while bulky or cartoony are smaller and easier to moc. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/godfrey/Test/pict0242.jpg see? the new dirt bike looks sleek. the older bike is cutesy.
  21. not a bad idea, but i believe they are called powersuit or exo-armor or mecha.
  22. of course there's a mechanism. further out you see round technic panels. if the springloaded missile hits these panels, it will free the stasis tanks. and you think you could get away from that.
  23. off topic: i have to re-read it about 3 times and i think mania3 got it. he hasn't seen such a tall bike where the handlebars are as high as his nose. here's a comparison of old bikes vs new bikes. about one plate higher.
  24. new visors! those looks cool! if that's ca's price, then i guess the hoth set will retail for US$20-25! not a bad price at all.
  25. credit card is not sleezy. every large departmental stores do this. the problem though is that TLG will need to form a finance co in order to lend to customers. imo, this isn't the right mix for TLG since it will mean they are branching to become a financial co. if you can't do it well, don't do it at all.
