why were they glued? also those shields are like 50 cents to 1 dollar so great deal on those!

I always assumed the "Limit x per customer" was because of the bricklink/ebay resellers.

hahaha. Well next month I will get those 100 Vladek polybags and then as many evil dwarves and elves I can get. Probably get Black Falcons, Vikings, Fright Knights, or Bull Knights. One/two of those and there are other factions I could get that are low in numbers but I am currently interested in those four.

Seeing both kinds of armies are great. They each have their own appeal. Here is my humble Black Falcons army of 3 minifgures. I was going to wait until I made like 6 or so videos of my tiny armies to post it here but the Hurricane Irene is heading my way so I made the video might as well post it. If I can I might squeeze in a video tomorrow but after that probably utility disruptions so no new army videos from me for a few days probably.

well right now around 20-50 (just guessing) elves are around 7 dollars or less, some with accessories some without. And then after that there are a lot of elves at 8 dollars and higher. So it would be cheaper to just buy the sub 7 dollars ones regardless of accessories to save money. Less accessories but that should reduce clone syndrome of everyone using the same gear. But that might just be my logic attempting to justify buying the accessory-less minfigures. Because bottom line I think the minfigures are more important. Because I already have like 600 castle minfigures, but only like 50-100 shields. Going by my current armies I should be fine without the extra elf shields. I guess only time will tell what I decide to do. I will obviously go for the elves with accessories first and then see what happens. Someone said they will probably increase in price later on too. So I should decide fast!

I want to get an army of lizardmen but it has a human face? I meant just buy the CMF and forget about the accessories. For example have 10 elves with bows and shields, and just 10 elves. and then mix them up like 10 elves using bows, and the 10 shields go with the other 10 elves and you equip them with spears or swords. That is what I meant. Or would you prefer all your elves have shields regardless of what weapon you gave them?

So next month I will try to get some elves and some more evil dwarves. Now I wonder if its worth saving the extra 50 cents- dollar to just get the minfifgures alone and no weapon/shield. I notice some sellers just sell te mifnigure alone. But seems the shields themselves are worth like 1 dollar each, so it seems to be not worth it to say a little money per minfigure. But I am looking at all my other armies I only have a handful of shields/original weapons vs the entire armies so maybe just numbers will be fine and the ones without shields will just use some two handed weapon? Anyone here just buy the CMF elves/dwarves/vikings/samurai/forestmen and other CMF castleish minfigures alone and not get the accessories?

Hm. Well I already use the Shadow Knight name for my Vladeks and Shadow knights(Vladeks = knights, the shadow knights = infantrymen). I guess later one when I get more Jaykos and etc I will just use their shield animal symbol. Turn them into Bear/Unicorn/Wolf/etc knights. Like the Manga/Anime Berserk. All of those knights were named after animals it was cool. EDIT: Also I did not know Knight's Kingdom II was a fan name. Wow. I thought that was the official name. Interesting. They reused the name but completely revamped the content.

Well not everyone understands army building. For some people, seeing huge masses of troops is amazing. Yea those people who make amazing mocs and whatnot are greatly talented. But for me, I just like seeing huge numbers of troops. Probably because I played too many RTS games like Medieval 2 Total War! Huge bodies of clone armies! I always wanted to get into collecting Warhammer or Stikfa armies. Warhammer for the incredible detail and some level of customization, yet it requires glue and paint. Stikfa has ultimate customization yet incredibly expensive for one mere figure and barely any details. To me, lego represents a nice mix between the two in terms of price (although some minfigures are expensive as stikfas or metal miniatures or even more!), customiztion, and detail. And my Morcian Army (did Lego ever give an official name to the faction?) If I get more I might split them into different factions based on their color (simple names like Bear Knights for the Bear knight =D, unicorn, etc.)

Not having enough money to buy as many castle minifigures Madoka has! I can start now, but most of the minifigures are already mangled up in garbage dumps or in AFOL collections. And since they are used there is also a certain amount of damaged/faded minfigures with missing plumes and other accessories. But the only real gripe is the CMF series. If only they could just sell those minfigirues directly isntead of at random. Then I could collect an army of elves, evil dwarves, and etc without forking over 8 dollars a piece... Going to cost like 1000USD just to get 100.

Ever watch King Arthur and the Knights of Justice? it's like Knight's Kingdom's II was based on that cartoon. Personally I wouldn't mind something similar to KKII with the more fantastical knights. Not necessarily fantasy like Castle 2007 with trolls, dwarves, and skeletons. But I would like to see more animal based factions. not sure why. Probably because of that cartoon lol. I hope to get lots of those KKII rainbow knights to make something like that.
-
It's open to interpretation of course. I just figured things might get crowded if you are like me trying to fit in every Castle faction ever + Ninjas and Vikings.

Very nice. I have like 20 of those wheels I think so I have plenty of wheels to make chariots. And all those saddleless horses. Maybe I should use it for my "barbarian" armies such as bull knights since they don't have horse barding.

Well right now my Black Knights and Dragon Knights are numerous (well Black Knights might suffer if I remove the crusader/royal/black falcon scale mail/breastplate minfigs), and my Dragon Masters are not. Plus I hope to get some dragons for them and they are called Dragon Masters so naturally their name lends well to that kind of story. Later on I will get more dragon masters but probably not enough dragons for them to mount. So the story is that only those chosen by the dragons get to ride them. Work my financial limitations/and lego supply shortages into the storyline lol. I plan on doing that with most of the expensive minifigures and stuff like horse barding.

Mythos Those chariots are so simple yet awesome. I have quite a mount of the round bricks so I will copy the same. for my prison carriage rescues. Khorne Yes definitely upload your armies! Well those pictures look pretty awesome as they are. I am sure your minfigiures look even more awesome in greater numbers. Fixed link My 5 man Viking army. Should grow in a few months

Because you can't just release the same product forever and not expect people to get bored of it.

Does Kingdoms live up to Castle expectations?
ziljin replied to K-Nut's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I wish they could just do a theme specific CMF Series of just castle/fantasy. instead of randomness. then I would buy them by the hundreds or even thousands! Well the Amazon women warriors could work if they ever make a ancient greece theme. I mean they did make vikings and ninja. Ninja was more castle, and Vikings was more fantasy. I imagine if they made a greece theme it would be similar to the Vikings using mythology. -
Star Wars is one of the most popular franchises in the entire world. So Lego Star Wars is extremely popular as a result. And also like Artanis said its a huge universe. And George Lucas wants to make Star Wars as long as he lives I think. The Star Wars the Clone Wars he plans on making at least 100 episodes regardless of ratings. Now if the ratings continue to be good who knows how many more episodes will be made. This was originally a short miniseries that bridged the gap between Episode II and III. And now the Clone Wars saga has more content than the original and prequel movies. George Lucas also said he's working on making a Live Action TV series that happens between Episode 3 and 4 but that has been on hold since everyone just watches reality tv now (his words). Lego Castle is not as popular so they have to mix things up to make it new and refreshing. I am sure if they just made the same thing over and over again it would still be popular amongst adult fans but Lego wants to capture all markets not just one.

Hm for real? That stinks. =(. Well some of them seem to be not as expensive like the samurai warrior and forestman. Possibly because of higher qualities or people just prefer the classics? For elf its unique so I imagine it being more popular and less people selling them? Currently like around 40 or so CM forestmen can be bought at 5 dollars. while for elves, its only like 10 of them at 6 dollars and they don't even say if they have the accessories (oh yea elf has longbow and printed shield probably drives up the price too!) Well just ordered 2 more evil dwarves. I guess next month I will see how many evil dwarves, elves, forestmen and whatever other CMF I can grab. Wow after shipping it would probably cost around 1000 USD to get 100 elves. =(. Not that bad really its just that 1000 USD could get like 200-300 cheaper minfigures.

Do you happen to have a picture of your faded minfigures? some of my generic scailmail have thin printing in the center. I only have 3 Black Falcon's and they are fine. And 5 out of 25 crusaders with faded printing. but only like 3 of them are heavy faded. Also do you know why they are faded? just the Crusader's color of printing?

protective mask that is cool. Didn't respond earlier but better late than never. Hm, I might revamp my factions but its becoming increasingly warcraftish/warhammerish and I sense a lawsuit incoming lol. I guess this would be the non chronological release story. Not all of them have their backstories fleshed out. An evil magical force surges across the lands corrupting its denizens. Northmen - Vikings, They are barbarians and ferocious warriors (If they make Lego Thor/other Asgardians they will definitely be in this army!). They are the first humans of the North, and their constant warfare has impeded their cultural and technological progress. Dwarves, An ancient race that befriended the Vikings and have provided them with some technological improvements. They also have a strong resistance to magic, and have trained the Vikings and Crown Knights to resist the forces of corruption. Crown Knights, The more civilized Northmen they are humans who migrated to the North long ago and befriended the dwarves and vikings. Evil Dwarves, Despite their magic resisting nature, some have become corrupted and turned on their former comrades. Trolls, ancient enemies of the Dwarves, Vikings and recently formed Crown Knights. Western Men - Bull Knights, Barbarians of the West. (needs more fluff) Fright Knights, Corrupted men who serve their vampire overlords. Vampires, Brought into existence by magic, they are few in numbers but are incredibly powerful have the might of the Fright Knights to bolster their numbers. Eastern Men - Ninjas/Samurais - WIP might be divided into colors. I think I have a white and blue shogun. Middle Kingdom - Forestmen, Humans who have migrated to the forest seeking the knowledge and protection of the elves. Dark Forestmen, Forestmen who have lost their way and given themselves up to Corruption. Elves, Mentors of the Forestmen, they are the only beings immune to corruption. Shadow Knights - Strongest force of the Corrupted men, they attack everyone even the other Corrupted forces. Lion Kingdom - Strong kingdom organized by wealth and military purpose Crusaders - The wealthy elite that mount crusades across the corrupted men. They are backed up by the Lion Knights made out of lower classes. Royal Knights - The wealthy elite that who stay within the Lion Kingdom and defend it against external threats. They provide support to the Leo Knights when necessary. Leo Knights - The first line of defense, they are lower classmen who defend the Lion Kingdom. Lion Knights - Lower classmen that serve as attackers who accompany the crusaders. Dragon Kingdom - A powerful kingdom organized by military rank. They have befriended the Green Dragons and they are aid each other. Dragon Masters, The very elite warriors who are the keepers and protectors of the dragons, those chosen by the dragons get to ride them into battle. Black Knights, The second line of defense against their enemies. They are veteran warriors promoted from the Dragon Knights. Those who serve their kingdom well get the chance of being promoted as Dragon Masters (changing them to dragon since they have dragon shields) Dragon Knights, The rest of the military serve and protect their kingdom as the first line of defense. The best get promoted as Black Knights. (their ranks can easily be switchable). Wolfpack, Bandits who take advantage of the chaos and fill their coffers. Black Falcons - No clue Rainbow Knights - If I get another they become separate kingdoms.

Magnus the Great Thanks. You, de Gothia and Khorne are really inspiring me with these awesome armies. I might have to do something similar. I won't be doing full on customization but I was already planning on making super factions. Like elves once I get some, forestmen, dark forestmen and maybe wolfpack together as different armies led by warlords of some Forest kingdom. Although that name could use some work. Although they will mostly be clones. That might a problem in terms of making the leader distinguishing.

I wish I had that chess set. My consists of the Collectible minfigure Series 3 Viking, Series 5 Evil Dwarf (I love it!), 2 helmets and a yellow dragon plume for my dragon master who is missing it. Hm, now I am torn. Buy more older castle minfigures or stock up on the more expensive colelctible mifnigures? Specfically the elves, and evil dwarves. Maybe Vampires too for a vampire army. I guess I should try to do both. Get like 100 old minifigures since they are around 3 dollars or less. And then some of the more expensive collectible mifnigures or other recent expensive minfigures.
