Really nice idea, if you don't have a soundbrick. -
8041
JunkstyleGio replied to crawej21's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Got mine last wednesday. Built it right away and took some pitures. So check my brickshelf. So here are my comments: It's a nice model but it's a quite simple built with not that many new parts. The stickers add a lot to the looks of the model, where itself is lacking "technic" functions. It kinda looks like an "in between model" to keep the (younger)AFOL's happy. The race truck runs smoothly and there do not seem to been any designflaws in it. With over 150 connectorpins and many other small parts it still is a big model. (lxhxw: 32cmx16cmx15cm) All in all: 3,5 ot of 5 points. Note: Does anyone know how many sets , being a "limited" edition, are going to be produced? -
The 8258 Crane Truck is the best option. May you could sent an email to LEGO asking them if this model is coming on stock again. If not i would think the 8265 Front Loader is an awsome model. But remember this: I definately needs the 8293 PF motor set! Good luck in hunting for something great. And keep us informed on your adventures!

I can't read the text with the 8041. Does it say anything about powerfunctions? Edit 21.42 With a little searching i found another picture. (LEGO S@H Catalogue??) Check this! Under the PF logo it says: Bring your Race Truck to life with Power Functions accessories. So i think there will be more info on that on the buildinginstructionsbooks of the A-Model

I've never seen these maquettes. How big are they? They look kinda nice, but i would never buy one. Far to expensive!

JunkstyleGio replied to JunkstyleGio's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Added some additional pictures. (See more on my Dune Buster Brickshelf when available) I've made some small changes in the tubular-frame to make it even more sturdy. (At least i hope...) -
To build or not to build
JunkstyleGio replied to candyman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Here in the Netherlands a 8865 MISB=Mint in sealed box) can get you aproc. € 200. Did you buy it to play with it and you forgot to play with it, or did you get it to make some money of it? For more info about vintage sets check: Eurobricks "Sticky Sets"
