Eric is totally right. And with the gears in the correct position and the bushels added, both problems are corrected! Maybe there is a qualityproblem in the axles and gears? (That is thickness and diferent kind of plastics-quality...?) Lets just see what TLC will answer after their meeting...... Anyway Eric: You probalbly can't read dutch (which i thought you might with your Dutch family name) but you made the right assumptions!

Had this week quite an intensive contact with LEGO considering various problems with the 8258. (The breaking of the 12t bevelgear in particular) I made a document (inEnglish and Dutch) in which i explained the problems and added my solution. The were very pleased indeed! I will be discussed by the North American AND European Product experts in their meeting with the designers in Denmark next month. Let's see what will happen!

Great abservation! And what a difference it is! So who's got an answer on why these changes were made by Lego? -
lego 8297 problem
JunkstyleGio replied to biuamir's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Maybe, could be, but definately shouldn't be! But remember stressing parts in a way that isn't intended for the part will break them in time. Always remember that it's just a toy... Happy playing anyway! -
lego 8297 problem
JunkstyleGio replied to biuamir's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Good thinking! For me the changing of the clutchgear and thus solving the problem proves that there was something wrong with that gear. So you should write an email to LEGOand explain your problems. Usually they sent you a new gear for free. -

lego 8297 problem
JunkstyleGio replied to biuamir's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Strange... Looks like the Technic Gear 24 Tooth Clutch keeps slipping. Did you add to much extra's on the model? Or is it just broken? When the former: remove some of the extra ballast, when the latter: aske LEGO for a new one and replace.... Good luck! -

Nice work, Eric! Hope you get the next 15 years in your Technopedia soon... It's a hell of a job. Tip: Maybe you should use some ghostwriters/friends for speeding up the process! -

REVIEW: 8258 B Model
JunkstyleGio replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Guess so.... But let's ask Blakbird! -
Last febuary i went to a Lego gathering in The Netherlands. When i asked their ambassador about a new SuperCar; he wouldn't answer any of those questions. Later on i talked to Nathanael and he said to me: "You know I can't answer those questions......." Political answers like these makes me wonder even more! (A simple "NO" would have stopped the discussion/expectations) "The big exclusive from S@H/supercar" as discussed on TechnicBricks is only feeding those romours. Well, lets wait and see!

REVIEW: 8258 B Model
JunkstyleGio replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Love this B-Model! Great use of almost all of the essential parts of the A-model. But is it so hard to make the steeringwheel actually work? HOG-steering is a great alternative but I kind of miss that. A good alternative would be something like the way it's done in the 8466. Any ideas on this? By the way: great pictures Eric!
