    I would say inconceivable, but that word does not mean what I think it means, so instead I will say very cool. You might need to cheat with a bit of cragle though, those crankshafts have very low clutch on the technic axles.

    The videos are hilarious, thanks for sharing. I would agree with the others though, the clutch doesn't seem consistent with the build. The wheels spinning on the track become your clutch. After all, is it really extreme if you remove the risk of self-destruction? (grin)

    Awesome! When laid on their back, how tall are the wheels to the top of the stud? Any idea how that compares to the top of the needle bearing on the similar lego wheels? Or maybe I should ask, what is the total width from stud to stud of a complete wheel assembly (two wheels and one axle)?

    Those little designs add a whole new layer of "pop" to a layout, great work and more importantly all the background information so that someone would know exactly what goes where (capturing reality rather than random grebeling) Use the rigid hose then, it is considered legal to cut to length and it comes in many colors.

    Oddly though, the Thatcher Perkins was a US locomotive and the set was never available in the US.

    The detailing is amazing. I can't tell though, did you replicate real adverts or did you subtly change the words/art to "lego-ize" them?

    Could you make the "shell" or part of it easily removable? If you are using the AAA battery box leaving the top unscrewed is also handy, but I suspect at this scale you are using the AA box.

    Indeed, non-lego parts, but they are from altbricks, which strangely happens to be the site mentioned in the first response. For a pure lego solution many people use this part.

    Welcome to the dark side! The lounge is over there, you get two weeks off a year to be nice, and we have a generous retirement package. Seriously though, that looks really nice in action.

    Belt drive is iffy, you need high tension to ensure the yellow bushing will turn, but that then results in high friction between the technic axle and lift arm. I tried it with this little engine, and it probably cannot pull much more than the battery box car. I'm not saying it can't be done, just that it will be non-trivial

    That's a tough one, a single stud between the rails. Here are a couple of builds that have two studs between the rails: example 1, and example 2. Bonus example 3. I've seen at least two or three others but do not have those links handy.
