The Lion of Luebeck (sistership of the Adler)
maydayartist replied to maydayartist's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thanks for all of your great feedback. I think the only result of this is a second ship for the pirates. And this one get back to the real owner, the Hanse. Problem is, the only bows and sterns I own are the red-brown ones, hm we will see. Ok I will fix it later, I need to sleep ... now! ;) Work starts in 3 hours -
Holy cow. Now I know why the coats at ebay are so expensive ;) Very nice army you have. No one can stop them. The pictures are deadly for all ISDN and slower connections ^^

The Lion of Luebeck (sistership of the Adler)

I reduce them for brickshelf to 1024x768 (only the first is bigger to see it better) and thought that this forum automatically reduce them to 82% of 1024x768, isn't it? The big one is changed -
Yep, here The lion of Lübeck I don't know how to edit the topic, so I make a new one and change the whole shiptype, name and nationality.

85b Hallo friends Now it is time to upload my first "pirate" ship. I don't know what it is exactly, a pirate or a royal ship, captured or not. It's not important ;) It is a three mast galleon with 12 canons on a lower deck. The cabin at the stern is build with a seven sided extension. It is a little bit difficult to describe all the details so I do what I'm best at, make pictures. It's dark outside so the pictures are taken with artificial light and not really beatiful. I will make new pictures tomorrow with better light. I love the ship now it's finished but the sails are not my favorite. I've seen other much more better work at this. I think I will do it once more ... later. Totale mit Insel Details

The last week I read lots of things over ships. The types the sails and such a stuff. And for a good eye catcher of the topic I choose HMS, but after a short recherche I see it was only for royal Ships. So it was the easiest way to write a "captured" in addition ;) That the HMS is only for british and that they only black and yellow are much more news I know. The other thing was the lionhead. It is not 100% the best choice, but the picture I copy the bow and the middle section has exactly this lion on this place. Finally I canceled the whole HMS and sealion problem and decided to build a spanish galleon. It is finished and now I open a new topic with the pictures, enjoy! :)

Absolutely lovely location. Complete it and build it with bricks :) When it's done, it will be the pondon of my pirate island. Pull your saber and load your guns. There will be a lot of goods! Har, har!

I started build the first ship based on a fantasy drawing picture out of a knowledge book for children. It based on a standard boat base with bow, stern and four middle sections. Finally it will be a three mast brig with selfmade sails. The hull should be curved over two axes, so I tested a lot of possibilities. Finally the brown log bricks will be the best method to do this and it looks very realistic and beautiful. Make your own decision: The flexible technic piece on the bow should be black .... I don't have them The 5 high underdeck has the right height for a fig on a real pirate ship. It's a dark, tight and stuffy pirateworld :pir-skull: On the 2 length log bricks on the stern you could see the angle of the hull PS: I still want to edit the topic. Anyone know how to do this??

Yes, the master on his work again! Absolutely great. I'm very curious of your new work.

holla heavy weapons!! There is no chance to capture the goods inside. Well done

wow, this is a gigantic hull. A little bit more and you need a new couch table ;) The big picture from the little fig looks great.

Pirate Island with harbor mountain beach and many more

Thank you for all your feedback. I could not wait to show you this project, a little bit soon as I can see know. Here are the pictures from the westend and the open mountain to see the tunnel. But I added waves in the bay and around the mountain before. It really like this little detail, it looks so more organic. @Bluebard Yep you are right. The one or another detail I recognized on other MOCs. But this is not really surprising, if you search for really good pics online of a pirate hideout, a piratehouse, a port or anything in this way, you will find LEGO Mocs very fast. For example, the 4 buildings pirate port from >Derfel Cardan<. I found a little picture of this online and on the search for more, I finally landed here @ Mister Phes Is it really similar to the game? I never see or play this, but it sounds good to get new ideas @Derfel Cardan If you see little similarities to your MOCs, it could be I found your pirate port on my search for inspiration and wow thats really amazing. The only thing I missed was the rest of it, the island for example. And at this point starts my work. @ Joey Lock That's exactly my point of view. My nephew is 5 now and startet this year with Lego. He is one reason I put back my old stuff, buy new one and build new creations. He could play with it, but it is to heavy for him. He dares not to demolish something. This is the westend with new little rock near the rock arch an the waves around. The tunnel under the mountain opening. The pirates show the way the tunnel moves through the rock. And at the end of it the cave with the landing bridge for smaller boats. At least, the view on the upway behind the tavern ending in a quarter round stair to the captains house. A little question on the edge. Is it possible to update the topic of this article, so everybody see that there is another update in? -
Vig. 87b Hello to all can't wait to see the nearly finished Island. Two things definitely come later. A ruin church on the east end near the beach and a Pirateship of course!! :) On Brickshelf are 30 pictures with lots of views and details. Here are 16 of them, try to show all aspects of the whole islnd. If it is to heavy, I will delete some of them. Now its dark outside, but tomorrow I want to make some pictures of the detail opening on the left side of the mountain. In this you can see the tunnel down from the mine entrance to the cave. Frontview Backview Harbor Canon wall counting office (the 3rd :) ) tavern corner my second building for the island but the others are more favorite, the store the captain above all the harbor entrance with the huge landing fire fisherman and his friend ;) Hangmans neck sandpath The mine entrance, the tunnel goes through the mountain down to the cave on the next picture. cave with footbridge, lots of stalactites and stalacmites mountain backside and the beach on the northside

Sorry I forgot your question. If you only want to know which sets the cypress is in, here is a list from peeron. There are only normal green ones: * 5 in 10113-1 - Cypress Tree (2001) * 2 in 9360-1 - Roadplates (1986) * 2 in 5192-1 - Cypress Trees (1989) * 1 in 18-1 - Trees & Signs (1985) * 1 in 10-1 - Tree & Signs (1981) * 1 in 7834-1 - Level Crossing (1980) * 1 in 6390-1 - Main Street (1980) * 1 in 5870-1 - Pretty Playland (1994) * 1 in 6083-1 - Knight's Tournament (1981) * 1 in 7835-1 - Manual Level Crossing (1985) * 1 in 1592-1 - Town Square (Uk) (1980) * 1 in 6374-1 - Holiday Home (1983) * 1 in 383-2 - Knight's Tournament (1979) The island outback with all green terrain shapes is done. Two little details on a picture can I give you, only a small part of all. I don

It was an additional give away on an incomplete 6081. I like this ~80% complete sets on ebay, they are mostly not so expensive and well fill up with the rest of my collection.

With so much positive feedback, the intention to go further is much higher :) Thats great! And the postman delivered new stuff! I´m now owner of a very rare cypress ;) by random. It was instant placed at the update of the counting office. A little big change is the length of the building is increase by 2, between the store and the tower. That dispere more the whole structure. New picture of them (now with the little naked backside) are added below. @ L-space Yes indeed, but I can

@ Joey Lock Very well spied, but it´s not an Fort. It is a star shaped quay equipped with cannons to defend the harbor. @ Lego_warlord_8 yeah good idea. The yellow trans plates in the fences should look like a pub window like this one on the picture below (I couldn

Back from work. Thanks for all of your positive feedback! @ Commodore Hornblower Interior comes later or never. If its time for the details in the buildings I can´t wait to build a new (most bigger) structure and before all details are made the whole Moc will be demolished :) But have no fear, figures and other small details on the island and around the buildings will come yet. ;) I love the smoke, dark an dirty pirate atmosphere, the most reason I decided to build this project. I do my best to make it happen in this moc but this is not my best part. We will see. @ 74louloute Thanks :) the simple answer is: I don´t have enough blue baseplates, but 14x 16x32 tan plates. Therefore the tan plates will be the beach and the little blues surround the whole island to look like an water embedded island. Quick and dirty ;) This will be more detailed later, too. Here is another detail located on the water side of the mountain, a small stone arch.

84c Hi there. First I have to say what a wonderfull section you have here. I've seen a lot of great Mocs and other constructions. I don't know, if this board has a welcome section, so I write a bit detais from me right here. I'm Phil from germany and a Lego fan for my complete childhood, there were nothing else After a long break an now with a five year old nephew, I take my old stuff and bought a lot of new one online. My favorite genre are castle and after a little castle Moc (Castle moc) I decided to build an island with a pirate harbor. I like the huge number of dioramas and vignetten with all the little details but for me it has to be a round object. First I start with the buildings. They are not finished but the last details will come later. And here they are: the captains house the counting office (I don't know if it's the right name for it, in german it's the Kontor) a normal house (my tan bricks end after this little thing ) the tavern (inspired by 10193, taken from my castle moc and redesigned, I love this building) the tower (a replica from a picture of an Anno 1701 artwork, maybe someone know this) Ok, please post your comments and your suggestions for improvement
