Heroica RPG - Quest #159: An Unexpected Return - Sewers
Duvors replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
Throlar's frown turned into a glare of smoldering fury. "It's also a potent aphrodisiac." "Throlar motioned towards the fairies. "If you people don't mind telling us, what exactly is it that happened a year ago to cause all of... this." he said, waving a hand in the air to indicate the falling ash-like powder. -

Throlar frowned. "You do realize how stilted and artificial it sounds when you talk like that, don't you? Are you sure you don't want to speak normally?" -

"Kiray, as long as my Guardian Angel is here nothing can harm you, you should attack from the front!" -

(No it does not. The darkness element is separate from the dark enemy type, which is identical to the demonic type in all but name. This is due to the fact that originally there was only the demonic enemy type until Sandy added the dark type due to the fact that not all light-vulnerable enemies were demons.) -

"Lind, you may want to use one of those remedies on Pretzel. And someone should revive Kiray. Karie, you're hurt, I'm going to heal you, don't argue." Throlar heals Karie and attacks with Verkenner. -

(Why wasn't the scroll I used included in the battle order? The Lens of Speed Reading should've allowed me to use it. Also, when stating my actions I stated my attack would only replace the healing I was using on Karie, my second action was still going to be to heal Skrall.) -

Throlar, hearing Karie, stopped healing her and instead attacked from the back row with Verkenner. -

Throlar, seeing one of his allies go down and his scroll failing on him again, let out an inarticulate cry of frustration. Collecting himself enough to form words he tried to use the scroll again. Seeing his allies injured he also attempted to heal Karie through the Shredding Star from the back row. Given a second turn he also attempted to do the same for Skrall. -

"Ah blast. I'll just do it." Throlar casts the Scroll of Elemental Aura (Darkness) on the Walking Mountain in place of the scroll he was originally using. -

"Er, no, there wasn't. I was trying to cast it on Karie to ensure that her attacks would be more effective against him but it failed in the first round and she never attacked him so I just didn't use it again because I didn't have enough ether. I could use it on him now, but Karie, Skrall, and myself are not immune to darkness and have no way of becoming so, so we'd have to go to the back of the battle order if he's going to get any free hits. And that assuming it works, if it doesn't then whoever goes first will get the full force of his attack, unless you put me first as I'm immune to free hits. Pretzel makes a good point about the Neutalizer, but if the scroll fails he'll be utterly defenseless and probably die. By the way, does anyone know if the neutralizer will effect the elemental aura at all?" "Er, you can't do that. Borrowing a weapon from someone else requires an action from both of you to transfer it. As Karie cannot hasten us this round, you cannot take the weapon and attack with it immediately." (WBD, you still have the grand tonic listed in my inventory.) -

Throlar uses the Scroll of Weakening on the Walking Mountain. "Karie, if you want it I have a bottle of Myrrh that I could use on you, though there are only two in the entire party so I don't know if you want to do that. Alternatively you could ask someone else to use a tonic or a grand tonic on you, or you could just use one of your own if you feel fine with that being your own action. To be honest however I feel we should just all attack normally as long as Pretzel is giving up his attack to neutralize our enemy. Though as long as that's the case we'll only be able to attack seven times, so I suggest you put me first in the battle order to absorb the free hit." -

Throlar will attack from the back row with the Shredding Star, if the attack hits, he will attack from the back row with Verkenner. If not, he repeats. "Skrall, I suggest you lend Kiray your Mythril Hunter's Crossbow this round. You may also want to consider using the Unlucky Crossbow on him again, though you'd have to go after me if you did." -

(Sorry about that, I was thinking of the way it used to work.) "No, don't use that weapon, the poison will negate the minimization and restore him to full strength! And I have neither the ether nor the amount of Tonics necessary to continue minimizing him every round. Just use the Sword of Fire and Light for now and next round someone can lend you a better weapon." -

"Well damn. Okay, one of you lot needs to revive Pretzel, without the Aurora Nornalis there's no guarantee he'll be alright if we don't. And all of you, switch to weapons that don't cause negative effects, we need to minimize the threat our foe poses for as long as possible." Throlar drinks his Grand Tonic from the back row. If Pretzel is revived and Throlar is hastened, he will heal Pretzel through the Shredding Star, if not, he will remove the Infernal Armor and equip the Greaves of the Wolf. In any case, he will exchange his Weathered Shield for his Shield of Invisibility. (WBD, You've used 'Aim' were you should've said 'Meditate'. Additionally, Throlar's stats don't have all of the scrolls Pretzel lent him listed and have a number of gems that pretzel didn't lend him instead.) -

Duvors replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
"You know, if we are hastened, Pretzel could probably afford to attack with the Tyrant's Maul and the Splinter Broom, both of which could apply negative effects to our enemy. Namely, Hexed and Stunned. On that note, Skrall, while the Unlucky Crossbow and the Giant Hammer are hardly superior to that sword of yours they both deal effects (Jinxed and Confused respectively) that our foe is not immune to. Karie, if that Rapid March gives you an extra action you may want to consider attacking him with the Demon's Fiddle as well." Given an extra action, Throlar will heal whoever has lost the most health, if no-one has lost any, he will instead cast the Scroll of Minimizing on the enemy. -

"Thank you." said Throlar, accepting the items and the Shredding Star. "Kiray, you can't use that weapon. In fact, Vindsval is the only person here who can." "I should stay up here, as the only healer present I'll be needed if a fight breaks out."
