  1. (They should, light-type enemies were designed to be functionally the same as holy-type enemies while remaining distinct in the same way dark and demonic enemies are. That's probably an oversight on the part of the wiki.)
  2. Throlar fires at Vermillion Wyvern A, if his target is dead, he will fire upon Green Drake A, and if both are dead, he will fire at Obsidian Wyvern B.
  3. Believe me, we're grateful.
  4. "I don't think they're affected by their own abilities, but I take your point." Throlar fires at Shadow Drake A with the cannon.
  5. "Pardon me, but the Dream Drakes shouldn't be able to undo the effects of my bomb as they themselves would be asleep and unable to act. I admit that I'd only be able to knock out one but I don't think the other one could undo the effect from the other side of the ship." (WBD: Just to be clear, can the Dream Drakes's special affect allies on the opposite side of the ship from them?)
  6. "Arthur, I have an idea! I have a sleep bomb in my possession that could temporarily disable most of our foes on one side and remove the swarms from the battle completely! The downside is that I won't be able to use my cannon if I do that, do you think it's worth it?"
  7. (Two things; firstly, I used my tonic before the battle started, so my ether should be full now. Secondly, I gave the Shattering Arrows (and maybe the Skull Mask, though I'm not certain about that one) to Kiray, so it (they?) should be in their inventory. Other than that, all looks okay.)
  8. Throlar, seeing that he might not get a chance later, downed a tonic. Throlar reached over and patted the young lad on the shoulder. "It's okay," he said gently, "this will all be over soon. You've been doing great so far, just keep it up a while longer."
  9. (OOC: Well I'll keep that in mind for any future quests we're on together.) "I didn't mean that as a command," said Throlar, "I was just making a request. Maybe I didn't phrase it properly? I apologize if that's the case." Those who were listening noticed that he spoke with a more subdued manner than was normal. "I'll take one," said Throlar before anyone had a chance to speak, "I used to know how to use the smaller versions of these, so I should adapt fairly easily."
  10. "Right behind you." said Throlar, climbing aboard as he spoke. "One thing though, I believe that our fairy friend would benefit from you lending them your spare Prayer Beads. You wouldn't mind that, would you?" Throlar started briefly when Nerwen spoke to him directly, before turning to face her with a nervous expression. "Erm, well, to be frank I... I suffer from seasickness so I'm not certain how... useful... I'll... actually... Why are you mad at me? I thought we were friends?" "Oh, thanks." "Err, yes. and... thank you."
  11. "Here," said Throlar, "I'll give back Verkenner. By the way, I asked this a moment ago but you might not have heard me, may I borrow Ludeus?" "Pretzel, as I'm returning Vind's weapon, may I borrow your Splinter Broom?"
  12. "Arthur, would you mind lending Euflear your Winged Sandals for the nonce?" (Why is Euflear hastened?) Upon seeing Nerwen Throlar's manner became noticeably more reticent, as if he wasn't sure how she'd react to his presence. He opened his mouth as if to say something, but then closed it again and, while not actively hiding, assumed a position more or less at the back of the group.
  13. (WBD, sorry to bother you, but you seem to still have the Lens of Speed Reading in the list of artifacts I currently have equipped.) "Well, the Phoenix is the only ship here that I'm familiar with, but I honestly wouldn't recommend it. It only has two crew members and no armaments so it would be useless in a fight. In addition it's very obvious and closely associated with the Ziegfrieds, so it would immediately attract all sorts of unwanted attention if it started to move." "Euflear could make use of either of those weapons, as well as that Quiver of Blinding Light. And while we're on the subject of lending Euflear things; Benji, if you're not goin to make use of that Marksman Monocle then I suggest lending it to them, perhaps anyone with a pair of Counterstrike Gloves that they aren't using could lend them to them too, I notice several in this party who have a pair that they aren't using." Turning to address Euflear directly he said: "Myself I have these Robes of the Kappa Master though you may object to them on the grounds that they will restrict your movement, though I believe that this may cease to be a problem should someone choose to lend you a pair of Winged Sandals. Boomingham," he continued, turning to face the man, "would you mind lending our companion one of your spare Prayer Beads?" "And now," he began again, "I have something to ask for myself, Vindsval, since you have that club would you mind me borrowing Ludeus for the duration of this battle? Unless you think it would be better in someone else's hands that is." "I should also like to take this opportunity to say that if you see anything in my possession you think you could put to better use you only have to ask for it."
  14. "To dream the impossible dream..." Throlar muttered under his breath before looking up at his companions. "You know," he said, his eyes still moist, "I'm not the most... stable person in the world, something I've come to recognize recently. I've been trying to deal with it by myself, but it think... I think you can see it doesn't really work like that." "However," he continued, getting to his feet as he spoke, "this discussion can wait a little while longer. You're right, we can't save everyone, but you're also right in that we have to do something." As he spoke he stood up to his full (though not terribly impressive) height. "And if we can't save everyone, then we can at least avenge them." He nodded to the others. "I'm with you." "No wonder you're Veterans," Throlar said with a tiny smile, "for all your faults I think you may just be the bravest people here. Good luck, you'll need it." Having spoken to the veterans Throlar proceeded to replace his Shield of Invisibility and the Lens of Speed Reading with his Weathered Shield and Infernal Armor, before nodding to the door and the heroes about to assault Fort Bonaparte. "I'm with you."
  15. I'm sorry about this everyone, but I may be away for a day or two.
  16. "Yes it does. it's dying right now. What the hell did you think all of this was?" Throlar was silent for a moment, before letting out an inarticulate scream accompanied with a kick at the nearest inanimate object. "Well what good is it them?" he shouted, seemingly into empty air, "you put your trust in gods and heaven and... stuff, and what happens? Nothing! The gods can't help, they don't know what's going on, they can't be bothered to get out of their fancy chairs, or they're just too scared to actually come and help the people who put their trust in them!" He stood there fuming for a moment before he began to speak again, pacing back and forth as he did so. "Agghh! This is impossible, if we go to stop Rosier, Then the prisoners at Fort Whatever-the-hell-they're-calling-it-Now will hang! Conversely, if we save them, then Rosier gets into this Nexus-of-all-Realities and consumes the last of the fairies!" He suddenly whirled around to face everyone else, though his unfocused gaze indicated that he was still addressing the universe at large as much as his companions. "I can't do this," he said, his eyes starting to go moist, "no matter what choice is made something horrible is going to happen! You're giving me a choice that I literally cannot make! Do you understand that? Do you?" As he finished speaking Throlar fell to his knees and, with his hands limp by his side, began to sob uncontrollably.
  17. Throlar listened to Dyric's words with an expression of confusion that rapidly morphed into anger. "I'm sorry?" he said, "Did you just say that you don't care if Rosier is eating fairies so long as they're ignoring Eubric? Do you have any idea what you sound like right now? 'Everything we know points to Rosier being concerned with eating fairies, which is perfectly fine! After all, they're just fairies, it's not like they're real people who can suffer and die, they probably really like being eaten!' Because that's what you sound like to me right now. Oh, I know that there are innocent people in Fort Bonaparte who will die if we don't save them, but it's the same with the fairies. If we don't deal with Rosier then they'll find this door, enter it, and exterminate the last remaining fairies, wipe them out, render them extinct. Because Rosier is not going to be at the fort, they're going to be miles away, underground, and on another plane of existence! I can understand wanting to save Eubric, it's been your home ever since you joined Heroica after all, nothing else it could be, but if you're willing to casually dismiss the lives of an entire people, if you're unwilling or incapable of admitting that there is a definite moral quandary here, then I don't want to be anywhere near you because you're an objectively awful person." Throlar slapped Karie's hand away. "I know that people are going to be hanged, just as I know that people are going to be rendered down into aphrodisiac to be snorted by some sex demon! Stop trying to cheer me up or treat this like it's going to be some glorious shining moment where we save the day and stop all the bad guys and everybody's okay afterwards. This is us going to be who gets to live and who doesn't and both choices are going to be the wrong one because either way INNOCENT PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DIE!" "You don't get it do you? We don't get to be heroes today. If we were heroes we'd be able to save everyone, without any of this 'choosing' garbage."
  18. In the absence of a reply from Benji, Throlar sighed, looked in the general direction of up, and began to speak. "Ophaniel," he said, "if you can offer us any guidance, then please speak to us."
  19. "That sounds... amazing honestly. I'd love to go there one day when this is all over." He shook his head. "However, that can wait. Now we know Rosier's goal we should be able to figure out where they are, or at least beat them to their objective. Please," he continued in a diplomatic tone, "can you tell us where this door is?" Throlar sighed. "Look, I know what it's like to feel responsible for something, to feel guilty for it even, and I understand that one often feels the need to atone for their actions. That's fine, but you need to remember not to be to hard on yourself. Obsessing over your failings whether real or imagined can lead to some... unpleasant... it's very bad for your mental health." Throlar recovered from his brief moment of discomfort and continued speaking. "Still, in your case I don't think you are truly at fault. You did not consciously choose to create these imitations of your friends, nor are they acting under your direction. Indeed, they wouldn't even exist if not for Rosier's actions. I believe you cannot be held to be truly responsible for any of this."
  20. "Euflear," said Throlar speaking as gently as possible, "I know this is difficult for you to talk about, but we need you to tell us as much as you can if you want us to help you. Any information you have could be vital to saving your people and defeating Rosier." Just so you know, Throlar was speaking diplomatically. Throlar blinked. "Well." he said, "That seems bad. However, while it's clear that Rosier's actions are more urgent than we thought, we cannot allow these false founders to execute innocent people. And don't think they'll just crumble into dust once Rosier is dealt with. If, as I suspect, they arose spontaneously from Euflear's dreams then they're likely to be able to continue existing without Rosier. As far as I can tell, unless we're less pressed for time then I think, we may have to split up once more to deal with both threats."
  21. Throlar leaned in and whispered to the strange man saying; "I wouldn't really cut his hands off, that was just a bit of hyperbole. No need to tell him that though."
  22. "Touch it and I cut your hands off, cheekbones. I wouldn't trust you with something that important as far as I can throw you. That said, your plan is a good one." "That is true, though I'd say that the value in reading it would be more in finding a way of either killing or banishing them, permanently." "Benji was in the Faerie while this Founder stuff was happening, I doubt they'd be after him either." "That said, if we are making plans for an assault, I do have an idea of my own. There is a rather large number of broomsticks in this party's possession, and an even larger number of people who can use them. I suggest we take advantage of the special properties of these, the ability to fly, to enter the fortress from the air. Now, if we did this we'd have to distract the enemy dragons I understand are flying about. Of course Ulric's planned destruction of the Hovel Wall will draw at least some of them away, but to make certain as many of them as possible are away we'd need an additional distraction. For this purpose I'd suggest Hoke and a number of other heroes draw them away. To be honest, there's no way that dragon of his is getting close to the fortress unnoticed, so we might as well work that into our plan."
  23. "That book, if what he's saying is true, is a legendary tome of demonology. From what stories I've heard it may be one of the most powerful magic texts in existence."
