  1. That is very similar to the model I have, but no, its not the one I'm building. I'm building it more from THIS Model.
  2. 12-15 business days. You can check
  3. Looks like you posted right when I did!
  4. Here is the ship with a reference of how high the deck is, before I tweaked the mast positions: (Yes that is archduke Charles on the right) And here it is with both decks, after I tweaked the mast positions: Hope that helps!
  5. I would like there to be a 3x3 plate/brick. I've needed one on several occasions...
  6. All right. I don't really care so much about view counts... It just seemed wierd... BUT NOW I UNDERSTAND!!!
  7. because almost every.... thing.... is RED vs. BLUE and I don't have the option of being green which is exactly why I posted this topic in the first place!!!
  8. Done! I've moved the mizzenmast forward two studs, and the foremast back one. I'm trying to go by the drawings as close as possible, so the masts are about where they should be...
  9. I have increased the length by 3 studs (the ship is 90 feet from poop deck to forecastle, converted out to a little over 80 studs) as well as increased the height by one brick to make it more minifig suitable.
  10. The ship has already been scrapped for the Beagle, so there won't be any updates, But yes, my bad on the yard arm...
  11. Yes, And I've done TONS of measurements to make sure its as close to 1:40 as possible.
  12. Alright, I realise that it does. But its happening again with this post!?!?!
  13. When I was looking through the forums I noticed a post (which happend to be mine) that had 0 views, BUT there were already 2 replies? 1. That's Impossible... 2. That's wierd... Does anyone know why? Or could you Mods look into fixing it?
  14. I've been buying a lot of legos from PAB lately, and I'm fine with prices, but first off I have to wait TEN days for the order to be processed, THEN it takes another 7-14 days for it to accually be shipped... I wish there was a way that shipping could be a bit faster, like an express option for a few extra bucks to cut shipping time down to only a week, if not less.
  15. I've been wanting to make a replica of something ever since I'd seen Teddy's HMS Victory, and so had a "poll" of what replica I should do. The unanimous winner: HMS Beagle. Updates: 3/7/10: Minifig Comparitive shots, as well as a few minor tweaks (Post #11, Page 1) 3/7/10: Messin' around with the masts (Post #29, Page 2) 3/11/10: Small hull update, as well as a crew now aquainted (Post #31, Page 3) 3/14/10: Custom Darwin and Fitzroy minifigs, steering mechanism prototype (Post #35, Page 3) 3/24/10: BIG hull update, random fig shots (Post #43, Page 3) 4/11/10: Cross section, w/ comparisons (Post #62, Page 5) Some of you might've already seen my topic where I had a few questions that needed answering, and noticed what they were for... (some questions still need answering, you can do so HERE) In one of the most famous paintings of the ship, the hull is white (as well as with a model kit I have), but in many models I see, its copper plated (In one the hull is even black). Since I barely had enough brown pieces for the HMS circumstance, white was the obvious choice. A sketch, which my ship will soon look like: The ship, with all my random junk on it: And without all the random junk: Here is a general size comparison: (originally I thought it would only be a few studs longer than the circumstance... I was wrong...) I'm low on 1x2, 2x2, and 2x6 plates, so I bought about 250 pieces from Pick A Brick (Bricklink's getting my orders messed up too much) Which means there won't be any updates for the next 12-15 days, unless I decide to work on one of the SEVEN dingies that accompany the ship... C&C is welcome. Post anykind of criticism you wan't, as long as it's constructive. Your feedback really helps!
  16. Well, I had trouble finding my camera, So the ship has been this way for almost a week. But anywho, the riggings fixed, but I've decided not to go any further. As most of you know I've been planning an HMS Beagle recreation, and have started construction on that, or else I would of fixed a couple other things.... Right! Pics... (almost forgot )
  17. I havn't bought a single LARGE Lego set EVER!* I either get them from Christmas/Birthdays or I buy a bunch of Pieces off PAB or BL. (AND even then I'm still usually using visa gift cards, etc., from Christmas/Birthdays) *I've personnally only bought a few small sets, which goes to show Option #5 really applies to me...
  18. They di wear green coats... but it was much more common for them to wear blue/navy blue coats. BTW: I'm a redcoat... :pir-skull: (but I would be a greencoat if I had the choice)
  19. You could call it the HMS Ipswitch, because it looks a lot like the real HMS Ipswitch a lot.
  20. Names in real life, are usually chosen by the captain, either as a quality of the ship (like grandeur), a personal reason (like rochester), or just some random name that pops into ones head that sounds fitting enough.
  21. HMS Ipswitch? That's what this ship looks a lot like...
  22. I've been looking all over eurobricks for this post!! (Thanks ARH for bumping it) I am totally %100,000,000,000,000 blown away by this project! So amazing, and so inspirational! I am at a loss of words. WOW. P.S. Why do you say OKtober, it should be (in every form of english) OCtober.
  23. If I may I'd like to offer a few suggestions. Everything before the current update looks great! But, 1. You might want to move the base of the bowsprite back a few studs. 2. You'll probably agree with me on this, but the headrails seem a little awkward, you'll want to look into fixing that. 3. Here is a page on how to do gaff rigging. The originality is my favorite part. Hope these suggestions help. (got any pics of what the carronades might look like?)
  24. I personnally really like all the individual ideas you have for this MOC, but if you wan't to make your life a helluva lot easier, you should only do specific buildings. That way when your going to sell it, You'll get a lot more $ per brick.
  25. If your going to do land based mocs, I would reccomend getting a lot of grey 2x2x3 75o sloped peices. Also, the 1x1 round plates always give a nice cobblestone effect (like in THIS moc) , so you'll wan't a couple hundred or so of those. The window panes you see in the background of the moc are also helpful for a variety of things including ships. Here is a bricklink link
