  1. ...along with some booty and a skeleton. *Amen* :-D
  2. Aha! I just knew the designer of the squidman module had to be hinting at something. If you haven't seen the poll on Lugnet then here it is. "Hailing from Manchester, UK, Tim
  3. Here's a few photos: Pic1 Pic2 Pic3 (The lever's placement may be wrong. I didn't fully understand ghoulrealm.) The light saber blade is the best substitute. In my case it was difficult centering the blade. It is notorious for being mis-molded, nullifying its "roundness". It can also be hard to retrieve. Hope that helps!
  4. Least favorite: (Jellybeans aren't far behind.) My favorite Castle Minifig is a three-way tie between the Black Falcon, Shadow Knight, and Knight's Kingdom Knight 1. Reason: They're all great for army building.
  5. Feeling or source? ;-) Feeling=source? :-P If TLC plans to push the release date back (like Sir Dillon said), then so be it. Whatever the reason, it will be back. :-P
  6. It appears you found AN islander MOC, but not mine so you're definitely not spending enough time there. Although I've called mine a "vignette" and its rather rushed so I wouldn't say its that good, however my second MOC is a vast improvement. I won't post that till my vignette gets more responses though. Mister Phes, I haven't replied to your MOC because there isn't much to add. I do like the concept very much, though. And, like someone said, the idea should be expounded upon. I've seen your second MOC and I like it a lot! Do consider posting it soon!
  7. Why thank ye, Jacob C! In a way they are seeking revenge, (their first failed attempt) but mostly for desecrating the ruins of their other fallen brothers. I'm glad you liked the structure and the landscaping. I'll probably take a few detailed shots of the stuff I missed, and retake the blurry ones. I had just enough green for the landscaping. That shall change after I buy some 4423's. (Which I see you have quite the collection of!) Someone might have already caught it; old biff is a play on the word bi-fold. ;-) To be honest I never took a liking to the Islanders. This MOC made me appreciate them. That can be attributed to you, for inspiring me to build Islander MOCs, so I thank you, Brick Miner. I have quite a few more Islander ideas up my sleeves. It's just a matter of acquiring pieces. *sad*
  8. Its shame you've let a recent motion picture with no official connection to Pirate LEGO convolute your perspective of their universe. That would be like me writing I'm disenchanted with Adventurers now I've that I've rewatched Indiana Jones. Fortunately I have the ability to differeniate between two completely different universes constructed with two completely different mediums, so its easy for me to accept them as seperate entities. Precisely. After all of the complaints of POTC influences I was confused because to be influenced and to be are two different things. A complaint against influence is certainly legitimate, but if a MOC is based on the movie then it is limited to the POTC universe. Brick Miner, it sounds like you are suffering from desensitization. (Am I ok using that in this context?) An obvious example would be violence. Exposure renders the lesser incidents trivial. (To a degree...) Likewise the tiny amount of fantasy present in the LEGO Pirate Line is trivialized by the huge dose in POTC. Thank you for clearing your problem up.
  9. Skeletons, dead or animated, have undeniably become a popular and relevant aspect of the Pirate mythology. So I thought ye buccaneers might appreciate this video: Link (Feel free to move the topic if it isn't suitable.)
  10. Excellent! '"Calico" Brody Hornigold' be yer new name, Ironhook. ;-) Some intriguing finds I've stumbled upon: animal, dog, parrot, cat, rat, mice, and kraken all begin with "Cap'n" (both male and female) The first repeat! pig=Can't-Remember-Where-the-Damn-Treasure's-Buried Radley ram=Can't-Remember-Where-the-Damn-Treasure's-Buried Radley There is a limit of 30 characters. The generator is consistent. Repeating a word sporadically always yields the same result. I even received Ironhook's response when typing "captain roger".
  11. Congratulations Willy. Now get to work on another Pirate MOC! ;-)
  12. Thanks. I stick to my ode to never build anything too serious or historically correct. ;-) What annoys me about the folding wall is that unless it's two studs deep it looks a bit messy. This is my first foray into making a brick built base, so I'm pleased it turned out well. (Now to purchase more green bricks...) Unfortunately I do not own enough log walls to make a decent MOC with. That shall change after I purchase a Viking Fortress. If I can find a "Joe Vig" head the Islanders will have more to do... X-D
  13. Here you go! *sweet* Bar 4L Lightsaber Blade Lever Small Base Lever Small
  14. Arr, if only ye could be reincarnated whilst still alive!
  15. Around 1850 (perhaps a bit of a stretch :-P).
  16. The Islanders are attacking a band of pirates headed by a French Man who considers himself to be the reincarnation of Napoleon Bonaparte. :-D They know he's crazy, but he takes in one hefty sum of booty! Sorry for not making that clear.
  17. Free gas is a beautiful thing!
  18. Terribly sorry about that. I can relate to the color variation. My reddish brown 2x2 round bricks (from 7018 Viking Ship) have distinct variations if properly examined. TLC will focus on producing quality Bionicle and Technic sets. :-P
  19. Ahaha, that generator is a riot! Thank ye fer sharin' it! A few names I typed and the result: (I automatically add an 'e' when typin' that word... :-P ) slimey pippin: Hobblin' Sully Hornigold Slimey Pippin: Dancin' Broderick Cutty Slimy Pippin: High-Pitched Edgar slimy pippin: Pirate Finn the Well-Tanned A bunch of gibberish: l;kjagsj'adsfj --> Pirate Casey the Sword Test Dummy *chuckles* The generator seems to possess amazing variation. Is it even possible to encounter repeats?
  20. An overview of the MOC: Le Petit Capitaine Amidst the ensuing chaos four brave Islanders attempt to ram the doors. Dr. Pineapple readies the cannon while Tophat Mcgee surveys the area with his pistol, har! Mr. smiley meanders and Joe Guy pours some boiling oil onto the islanders--> Hitherman keeps a look out, sniping meanwhile. The absent crew mates catch on to the situation. The Islander Sniper has his eye on Old Biff... The roof hatch opens up leading to... ...a collapsable wall; it is the only entrance to the third level and it is a last resort for survival if the islanders ever manage to overtake the fortress. Before Le Petit Capitaine founded the pirate stronghold, conquistadors vanquished the previous inhabitants. Therefore Capt. Petit took advantage of the existing ruins and expanded his narrow wooden tower into a mighty fortress! Unaware that another tribe of Islanders occupied the river's other side. When the Islander Chief learned of the desecration of the ruins he demanded justice and set out to avenge their perished brethren. The first battle failed. This is their second execution. ;-) Brickshelf Gallery when public. Enjoy! EDIT: Updated with smaller pictures.
  21. Just a heads up, TLC has removed the Viking page.
  22. The new skin is a wonderful surprise, Brick Miner. You did a great job of meshing all four themes together. The background and colors are quite unbiased as to what theme is being represented. Great job!
  23. The second I laid eyes on this tower I loved it! Sure, it's disgustingly <insert that tiresome argument>, but it works. I'd remove the teal, IMHO, however. The concept is great on its own merit. (Beside the risk of fire. :-P) What inspired the MOC?
  24. The UCS X-Wing. It didn't help that I was working in a cold garage (on a thin piece of brown carpet), past my bedtime, while a single dim lightbulb lit the area (hehe, after about an hour I was having trouble distinguishing between the white and grey.) I finished it and left it built for four years. :-P
  25. Despite the shroud placing I like the ship. The blue and white color scheme is easy on the eyes (hard to go wrong). The bow is well made for including the hull piece while maintaining a sharp look. It probably would look better brick built. (IMHO) The ladder is strange in that I would think a royal yacht would have stairs, but it's just a minor complaint. I'm with Kohrine as far as an Admiral on a yacht goes... Good work, Mr. Web! Cap'n Roger, the correct term is shroud. Thank goodness for the wikipedia! *pirate*
